Xbox Live Fall 2012 Dashboard Public Beta - Signup Now

I really don't like or understand why the got damn middle advertisement box has to be so huge. If anything that's where the pin box should go with thumbnails of whats pinned.

The pin function is great though. Hell, I wish the 360 could boot right into it. The simplicity is something I wish carried over to the other parts of live and I cant understand why this is not the default function of the "Recent" box which I cant imagine many now using.

And I bet you anything many will pin there favorite XBLA games to it and nothing else so goes to show how much damn functionally MS likes to cut out of making things easier for their customers.

Cool...the marketplace looks much better now. I submitted a suggestion during the last Beta to reorganize it in a similar way.

I don't think they have changed the games marketplace on the UK version.

Impressed with that browser

Shame tvcatchup.com doesnt work or it would have free live TV in the UK.

I'm liking this so far. Favorite thing is how the Games Marketplace has been massively improved.

- New sections are: Featured, Arcade, On Demand, Indie, Add-Ons, Demos, Extras (extras section = themes, gamerpics, videos, avatar store).
- All the navigations options are always on the left in green tiles. Very easy to find and tell apart from everything else, unlike the old metro dash which all blended together.
- New recommendations thing on the right side of your screen. When you go into the XBLA section for example it will show you two XBLA games and then another third tile for "All recommendations" that shows you ten picks. This could be huge for XBLA devs.
- There is a tile in On Demand for "Free On Demand Demos" (currently empty). Perhaps they are going to let you download full 360 games and play the first hour or so as a trial which I think Sony does sometimes.

The one thing I don't like is that the Demos > New Releases section shows Indie Game and Arcade game trials now too and there's no way to sort/filter things at the moment. So there's 3,378 items in the new releases section right now, which is kinda ridiculous to navigate.

Downloaded and ran the registration app, still no update. =/

Hopefully it's pushed to my console before I have to leave town for the weekend.

been messing around with it. I like it alot actually. IE is ok but gonna need keyboard if you plan on using it alot lol The xbox music and video apps load up faster as well

Anyone have any pics of the new marketplace layout?

Just took some direct screencaps of the new Marketplace. Much much nicer than before.

The 360 browser feels better than IE on a computer( how surprising! lol).I was ready to bash it but it's actually good.Like i said before only thing i want is a way to open separate pages/links like a smart phone on another window. The pin application is great i've got about 10 webpage favorites and some games pinned there, still hate how social and video come before the games section. Also i miss being ably to see my stitch avatar pet ( money well wasted)just by scrolling through on the NXE dashboard when stopping on my avatar.

UK dash must be different, those changes haven't happened yet with games marketplace. I can't wait til they do though as it looks so much better.

Could be a while. Last time it took several months before our marketplace was updated to the newest layout.

Oh goodness. Just got it downloaded. The "Pins" ... such a great idea!!
I suggested that on the Connect site in the last beta and started a thread on here asking people to go and vote it up.

*pats self on back even though MS probably didn't do it based on my suggestion. :D

Anyone else have issues with the pin to home option not being available on delisted games?

No Outrun or TMNT on my pin tab is a crime that will not stand.

Hats off to you then ;)

Overall really liking this new dashboard. Much faster and my xbox doesn't feel like windows 95 anymore.

Anyone else noticed improved voice recognition?

pro evo demo not pinning either.
i wish keyboard had option for qwerty, double space make fullstop, after fullstop auto caps, autocorrect and word prediction like wp7.

I'm really liking the change up in size. Taking advantage of the screen to make things more legible, and give more specific tiles is a really nice touch. I do wish we could re-order the tabs but as it stands, it's a nice improvement.

Internet Explorer is actually very intuitive. When some of the more advanced SmartGlass features launch, browsing should be great on the 360.

Is there a NDA? I assume not with people posting screens?

There always is, but nobody really cares or follows it. Every gaming site and blog posts screens (ie The Verge for example) and does video walkthroughs etc and Microsoft never sends them a cease and desist or anything.

They probably did get the idea from you, nice suggestion. I'm liking this pins feature.

Yes, there is. Obviously people don't care.

I think Microsoft were well aware that nobody would really pay attention to it, and I doubt they care about dash previews going up. It's more in place so they can take some proper action when they accidentally upload Mass Effect 4.

Every Xbox beta has had a NDA. People still talked about them, especially with the Mass Effect 3 leak. lol.

Don't remember if it's there now but now in your game library you can sort the by recent or alphabetical. Also you can sort by demo, arcade, indie and i believe games on demand.
