Xbox NEXT: The Games (we know about...)

I doubt they will go with Xbox 2, it would look kinda "last gen" compared to PS3.
I don't see that, but yeah that's why they had the survey with all the ridiculous names.

Make it like 'Xbox II'. I don't know. Or Xbox Next, that's a cool one still.

I have actually grown to really like the Xenon name (and even Revolution for the Nintendo console)

The only name I can think of for the next PS would be ... ... ... PS3

Man, if they had held Halo 2 for a Xenon launch, can you imagine how big that game and hence system sales would have been?
Guess they gonna try that with Perfect Dark Zero! :)

Plus the inevitable Halo 3 launch in some years time I guess!

Xenon is the code name and Xbox Next is the most likely final name for the console unless someone can come up with something better at Microsoft's camp. Xbox 2 is out of the question.

Ninja Gaiden 2 is in development. Itagaki has mentioned the game in multiple interviews. Ninja Gaiden 2 is coming out after Dead or Alive 4. That is the only timetable we have. Also, Code Chronus is a bit off. Code Chronus is scheduled to come out after Ninja Gaiden 2 so it'll be awhile. Dead or Alive 4 is the top priority of Team Ninja right now and then gears switch to Ninja Gaiden 2. As far as a DoA Xtreme game goes, another one is being planned. But at this time it is unknown if the game will be DoAXBV 2. It may be another sport instead.

It can't be Xbox Next imo. It just wouldn't make sense once it's actually out on the shelves. It's like referring to current gen consoles as next gen consoles.

I reserve the right to refer to it as the most stupid console name ever if they actually do that :P

I hope I'm not the only person who thinks this is a REALLY uninteresting list of games. Out of all of those, the only ones I really want to play are Burnout 4, the new PDO game and SC3, and the second two are only "probables", not to mention the fact that BO4 and SC3 probably won't be exclusive.

Although this lineup looks like it'll be awesome for the Bungie's My First FPS loving crew. :lol

For a console with practically no announcements yet, I think that's a fucking awesome line up.

Indeed. :) Though some are pretty speculative though. However, the EA games alone make it a pretty well stocked list. Just have to wait what Microsoft announces themselves and it will quite possibly be the nicest line-up of games of any console launch ever.

Is it confirmed that they are Xenon-exclusive?

Black
Developed by Criterion - Published by Electronic Arts. Black is being touted as a revolutionary first-person shooter that makes you feel as close to the power of your weapon as possible. It's being described as some as doing to the FPS genre what the Burnout series has done to the racing genre. The game has alread earned high praise from the media who were lucky enough to see an early build at E3 '05.

So, Black will completely disregard level design and gameplay mechanics in favor of being able to ram your body up against others? :P

Anyway, I thought Black was for PS2 and XBOX.

Criterion is EA now, they will want to release it on literally all platforms, so also Xbox 2 when it's coming out end of this year so they claim.

But I don't know they might make exceptions on their rules I guess, we'll have to see. I was told all EA games that are coming end of this year will ALSO be on any next gen console coming out, Xbox 2 most likely first.

I kinda like this.....

nextbox12.jpg

but it wouldn't work 'cause when you actually pronounce neXbox it sounds nearly identical to Xbox. The average listener wouldn't be able to differentiate between the two.

That list looks amazing and fab at the same time. Hope they will bring a new Jet Set Radio game as well to the Xenon.

it will never be called 'nextbox' or xbox next. just drop it now.

is this your own speculation, or is it safe to assume your in "the know"?

bumped. Added to the list:

Quake 4
Call of Duty 2
Ultimate Spider-Man
Thug 3

Need for Speed: Most Wanted
Retribution FPS

There was also a next-gen game or two mentioned in the recent mags (OXM, EGM, PSM, etc.) I can't remember the name or the developer though :( Any help would be appreciated.

And what the hell is Marvel vs EA?

If EA can't make a good game, they'll buy the brand recognition of yours. If they can't do that, they'll just use a license and rip off some popular variety of gameplay. Goldeneye (popularized by Nintendo/Rare), Lord of the Rings: Third Age (Console game is an FFX clone, GBA version wishes it was Fire Emblem) and ESPN just joined the ranks as a kick to the nuts to Visual Concepts, too.

I wouldn't be suprised if we see a new iteration of the Castle Wolfenstein series. I know they have an updated one on deck for the PC based upon the Doom3 engine.

Sabreman Stampede:

"Well, yes and no. It's not called Donkey Kong Racing any more, it's not for the GameCube any more and by this point I'd imagine so little of the original art and code remains that it's barely even the same game any more, but yes, it's still coming out. In some form. Wait and see, if you haven't already picked up on the new title that's been unofficially floating around the electrical interweb for months now."

DKR was basically a racing game where you all rode animals, instead of racing cars, basically the same, but it was a little more diverse. Obviously each ANIMAL had different abilities, just like GT or any other racer.

"don't know what happened to DKR. I think the team was broken up and put onto other games. Would not surprise me if they release it one day though. Not that it was complete or anything."

"According to Nintendo's official UK magazine the main objective of Donkey Kong Racing is to train the animals to race! You collecting fruit and win prizes, and train your animal to race against other species. A slight switch from Diddy Kong Racing. "

"Weren't expecting this one, were you? Roll up and experience all your favourite Kongs in some real in-your-face jungle racing action. The course of the game sees you careering through gorgeous landscapes in an effort to catch a ride, then refining your ever-expanding stable of steeds into real thoroughbreds by feeding them fruit and tempting them with prizes snatched up in mid-race...

The power of the GameCube allows for some truly seamless environments teeming with all manner of wildlife - pick out the racing line amidst those marauding rhinos, hungry piranha or seething wasps if you can! Yes, you can even take a break from racing on land to hit the skies and waters, with a range of aquatic and airborne mounts adding further spice to the mix. Needless to say, this makes for a staggering variety of routes and inter-species racing tactics.

With fully orchestral theme tunes in Dolby Surround, plus colossal environments existing in real-time and exhibiting real-world phenomena (swaying trees, fading sunlight, creeping shadows and so on), this is one absolutely not to be missed. Now you just have to wait until 2002... [later: it's released]"

bump. Added True Crime 2: Streets of Hong Kong and Mistwalker RPG's. There were a few more games that were revealed during the time I was banned I believe. Any help would be appreciated.

You can scratch Moto GP 3 off the list because it's coming out for Xbox in the next few months. Unless you know something I don't know.........

I would be in agreement with wanting Burnout 4, but since EA totally fucked the online - EA can blow me.
