Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

Xbox Feedback is just what it says, feedback. It's no promise nor guarantee of games being released or not.

How many people voted for todays BC games on Xbox Feedback?

Domino Master - 319 votes

DuckTales: Remastered - 5011 votes

Hexic 2 - 1001 votes

Magic 2012 - 817 votes

Unbound Saga - 255 votes

XCOM: Enemy Unknown - 7671 votes
You make it sound like they make games compatible based on votes - it's not that simple, and games become compatible as others do, thus why you see lots of small games trickle out so often while stuff like BO1 is way tougher due to scale and holding framerates. I still think Halo Reach isn't really playable right now.

Has there been any word on the Mass Effect trilogy?

Just a few weeks ago, Microsoft announced that it had figured out multi-disc games that were never sold digitally....so Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 are now possible.

But no word on those titles specifically. And when I say no word - I mean that literally. Our resident GAF insiders haven't seen anything come by to suggest an imminent release.

Yea could be, hopefully they'll throw in some extra, nice stuff at E3. I love "available now" announcements, even if small like an extra GwG.

I think they'd be really smart to increase the 360 GWG's to 3 and release an additional repeat, bringing the total GWG's up to 6 a month (5 new). The repeat rotates between Xb1 or 360 games depending on what they can get available at the time.

The repeats will happen at some point I think to give extra incentive to developers making their games BC.

My terrible YouTube skills have all been put to the test here: https://youtu.be/6RXUTwvHyp4

Input lag comparison in COD Blops. External HDD first, followed by the internal.

Wow, that is terrible. My COD BO plays just fine on an external HDD, no input lag. I would suggest a PC monitor test to see if is your TV. Hook your X1 up to a 8ms or less response time PC monitor via HDMI and see if there is a change in results.

It really doesn't have to be imminent but because EA failed to release the most needed (imo) remaster I have to rely on Microsoft now. Hopefully with the multi disk breakthrough we get ME 2 and 3 by years end.

Maybe Mass Effect Trilogy as a BC bonus for preordering ME: Andromeda?

Its the opposite of what I think actually. Even if a game just has 1 vote I'm happy if just that person gets satisfied if a game becomes BC. Xbox Feedback is just an indication of how many people are interested in a game, not facts.

I wrote that post so we could see how many people voted for those games, nothing else.

Speculation here but I think people might be onto something with a surprise GWG @ E3.

Ybarra, GWG xbox wire post etc are hyping it up to celebrate GWG's third anniversary, but none of these games really celebrate it in a way it should.

1st Anniversary (June 2014):
Dark Souls
Charlie Murder
Street Fighter 4 (additional game)

2nd anniversary (June 2015):
They announced that from July onwards they will be releasing two games a month on XB1 instead of the usual 1.

This third anniversary just feels like a normal month unless they have something to announce at E3. Maybe another surprise GWG, or an announcement they're increasing the 360 GWG's to 3 a month?

He also said he shot a video with Major Nelson, I dunno seems like it could be a video for an announcement, like a new addition to BC like Original Xbox games or something....I dunno, my guess is they do have something planned.

I think Fable Anniversary and if Microsoft is seriously crazy Forza Horizon 2 would be dope.

My god this would be the biggest news ever. Ninja Gaiden Black and KOTOR would be amazing to get.

Or could it be demoing the new Windows 10 anniversary updates? (like new game launcher)

It's a Samsung TV, I've enabled game mode too.

A. Holy crap that's bad. What kind of external are you using?

B. Holy crap my epilepsy.
A. LaCie Rugged 2,5 HDD of some sort.
B. Lol yeah, I'm filming the TV in slow-mo with an iPhone. Just so people can see how fast it responds in slow motion.

OXbox games on XboxOne would be amazing, but yeah I'm not holding my breath. Still though, Max Payne, KotOR, and Panzer Dragoon Orta could blow minds (Shenmue 2, of course I guess).

I never got in on Dragon's Dogma, this sale might be the one to suck me in, especially since I have enough Bing credits for a 10 dollar XBL code.

Interesting about Black Ops. Installing now to see if I get the lag issue too.

Yeah the OG Xbox had so many great games. I wonder how bad the lag would be though. It would be an emulator in an emulator, right? I hope they can get it to work.

Yes it did. I bought a used one off ebay and dug out some of my classic games. I really wish MS and From Software would partner up to give us a HD Remastered Collection of Otogi and Otogi 2. Sega could throw us a bone and remaster Panzer Dragoon Orta as well.

My god I would pay big money for a remastered Orta. They should release a PD collection with all the games plus Saga. I sold my Saturn copy a while ago and I would love to replay it now.

I've checked off the games on sale vs my BC list, if you want to pick up games that have yet to come to BC, these are some likely candidates

Bioshock- $5
Bioshock 2- $5
Bioshock Infinite- $7.49
Civ Rev.- $7.49
DA:Origins- $5
Dead Island- $3
Dead Rising 2- $9.89
Dungeon Defenders $5
Fallout: New Vegas- $7.49
Gat out of Hell- $4.49
GTAIV- $5
Max Payne 3- $4.99
Oblivion- $7.49
Red Dead Redemption- $7.49
SF X Tekken- $8
Skyrim- $10

In Major Nelson's video about the June games, the Xbox One games have a green side stripe now in the My Games and Apps akin to the Xbox 360 side stripe for back compat games. Hmmmm...

Does that mean Lost Odyssey is now possible? :o

If they do Dead Rising 2 instead of 1 I'm gonna piss.

Also just remembered, XB1 GWG started in June 2014 aswell.

They've always done something for the anniversary of GWG, they have to be doing something this year aswell I'd say. Something gonna be announced at E3 IMO

He is head of the platform team.

This was most likely the new features of the Win 10 Anniversary Update for Xbox they are going to detail at E3.

Do any of you guys know if the servers are still up for nba jam on fire edition? Not sure if I remember hearing that the servers were being shut off a couple years ago.

Not sure if this is the appropriate thread but anyone one else having XBL connection issues in BC mode since launch? I load up a game, and it either gives me error code 8015190E or it just straight up freezes and sends me back to the XB1 dash. Sometimes it lets me sign in and I can play a for an hour or so but it always disconnects me sooner or later. I've tried deleting and redownloading my 360 profile, same result. XBL works fine on my XB1 games as well, never had an issue. I'm playing the games on my internal HD and it happens with both disc versions and digital titles if that makes any difference. I've also tried setting my XB1 as a dmz through my router. Didn't make a difference. Any help would be appreciated!

Any views on how Tekken Tag Tournament 2 plays on BC?

I dipped in the sale, I love me some Tekken.

I am sure there will be input lag, maybe, but is it playable (at least in single player?)

It's happening?

XBOX TWOOOOOOOO!

Maybe, don't see why else they'd need to differentiate.

My bad then, it's not always easy to get the meaning behind some posts. ^^

Why do you guys think they added the side stripes for the Xbox One titles now? Differentiate between games built for the Xbox Two in the near future?

I don't like the side stripes on the 360 games as it is, really don't want them adding them to Xbone titles as well. Would much rather they removed them, and we had clean art for everything.

Or maybe for consistency. Considering I may now have more 360 games on my Xbone than native ones, I think I prefer having a banner on all games. Or no banner at all, actually (sometimes I even forget some of those 360 games are emulated...)

Consistency + Probably doing it now while there's not many XB1 games to make it easier on them in a few years time for next gen, since it should be BC with XB1/360.

I don't think it really hints anything.

Food for thought...
There has been speculation that we'll receive some extra games to celebrate the 3rd anniversary of gold, well...
What if those games that leaked a couple of weeks ago are the surprise? There was Ryse, Red Dead Redemption and Bioshock Infinate and 1 other... Various people surmised it to be a fake list immediately on account of the fact that infinite has been gold already but if they are bonus games it really doesn't matter if it's been gold before as we're not technically paying for them.

I honestly believe that original list is genuine, but they were the bonus anniversary titles... Perhaps.

It's fake and not justbecause of the repeat. There were too many errors, it honestly blows my mind how people believed that shit.

Maybe because of the Stores merging with the Anniversary Update, as there is some "small" UWP games that may come to Xbox One ?
