Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

The only reason I care about b/c is Vesperia. That game was my white whale from my teenage years and it's the only game I want on b/c so I can buy it digitally since I don't have a 360 anymore.

Omega V is good stuff. Between this and Guardian Heroes, they're on a roll with bringing great XBLA games to backwards compatibility.

WOW, I thought I had no hope of seeing Military Madness added. I got so hyped for it upon the release, everyone kept talking about the classic TG16 release, and this is pretty much a very faithful remake in 3D. I never owned the original, but I never completed this one either, and I always wanted a chance to go back to it.

Omega Five, also, was an "OMG I NEED THAT GAME!" When it released. It wasn't expensive or anything, but I was short on funds at the time (I think it came out not long after Christmas season, too), so I had to play the demo over and over, ha. It'd always reach the "BUY IT NOW!" point at the same spot of the music all the time... once I finally got it, it was one of few shooters my brother and I REALLY tried to learn. In a world full of ports, I thought it great to see an original title of such quality.

Glad to see some Hudson support. As they're owned by Konami

. this raises the chances of things like the MGS solid collection even more. It's games like this that I always worry would get stuck on last gen, with barely any PC version releases, or stuck on non-back-compat PSN... I'm always happy to see them appear. Not like they're likely for another HD remaster, either.

Sorry to those who missed some certain game they wanted, but I'm happy! It's always the niche titles that truly made XBLA for me, and it continues with back-compat.

I bet they are releasing all this garbage now and saving the good stuff for December.
Twelve days of Christmas with Tales of Vesperia, Daytona, LA Noire, Black Ops 2, Bad Company 2, Oblivion, Dead Space 3, MGS HD Collection, Bully, Dragon Age 2, Burnout Paradise, and Dante's Inferno.
Then on the 24th, Santa blows his load with Fable Anniversary, Splinter Cell Conviction and Blacklist, and Max Payne 3.

I personally think it's awesome they are bringing over even these more obscure less populated games. It really shows they are committed to bringing as many titles over as they can. Every game that gets added is another game that just works from here on out and I love that.

It shows they are committed to bringing as much as they can, even if it's not a big name title and that gives me hope to see some of the lesser known games that I like get added in the future :)

Word. This is really encouraging.

So as hopefully not the only person interested in it, is anyone else having issues getting Military Madness running? The game isn't showing in my install list yet will install from the store despite acting like I'm rebuying it. However it never brings up the purchase screen...just jumps to installing. And when I try to run the game it acts like I don't have a license to play it.

I know for a fact I own it...just loaded it on my 360 to test it. And the marketplace shows it as owned.

It didn't show up in my list. So I searched on the store, and found it. It said I needed to pay again.

I went to Xbox.com, and the main button said "Buy", but the lower listing understood I already had it purchased.

I clicked to "buy" it again on the web and the console, and both understood that I owned the game, didn't bring up any pay info, and on Xbox One, it started to download. On 360 Queue from the webstore, it told me my 360 DL list was full. Checked my account, I wasn't charged anything.

Haven't tried to start it up on the One yet.

I'm trying to think if the game was re/de-listed at one point. This kind of issue also happened with Lode Runner Returns, which had switched publishers or such since it was put on the store.

Yeah no dice here. I have the same issue with the button saying buy on the marketplace but the actual listing below saying already purchased. It also jumped straight to purchased instead of charging me when selected yet is not installing it to the xb1. I'm holding off clicking that any more in case it starts charging later.

Either way the game refuses to reinstall and when i did get it to install from the store it acted like i lacked the license for it. I'll give it a few hours and try contacting customer service if it doesn't correct itself I suppose.

While I feel a little disappointment when a week goes by without any new titles for me to download, sitting at 56% of all my owned Xbox 360 titles after a year of the backward compatibility program being live feel great! These are games that we were told at the beginning of the generation to abandon. Many said the Xbox One was not powerful enough to do 360 emulation and that I was crazy to hope that a solution would be developed. A hardware solution seemed to be the only way but Microsoft figured out a way to do it 100% in software and bring most of the Xbox One's unique features to these old titles. This includes making some demanding titles work even better than on native hardware. The efforts they are putting into this, including lesser known titles, gives me confidence in purchasing digitally on the console.

You're whole post basically encompasses why I'm perfectly fine with games like this being added. It helps show that MS is serious about bringing everything with you for now on, not just the big brand name games

Yep! Titles like these don't help me out, but it helps others who own it, as evidence in this thread, get their library slowly transferred over which is awesome. Doesn't help me out, but it isn't just about me. When I'm all giddy that Axel & Pixel is added, I expect someone else to call the week garbage. Oh well :P

Would I like to see titles like Fable Anniversary or Burnout Paradise before Dead Island Ignition? Sure I would. I also realize though that I don't know all the work and process that these titles get tested. I'm willing to bet these arcade games might load up just fine with minimal work which is why they get added fairly easily. Just because MS adds a small arcade game before Fable Anniv doesn't mean they are prioritizing it, it could just mean they ran it through the motions and it just...worked? Haha

Agree, even though these games do nothing for me and i have no interest, I think when they start excluding games because "it's not mainstream enough" or "only a handful of people will play it" is when you have a problem, because where does that line stop?

I'm glad MS is putting every game they can on the program no matter how irrelevant it may seem because of that. Even if not one person will ever play it, it's important to get every game they can on the program.

Is this working for you now?

Is this working for you now?

Seems to be the case now. No clue what the issue was but at least it wasn't as bad as the people that still can't dl Guwange. Probably bought the game in that old sales app or something.

Gonna have to devote some time this weekend to a playthrough.

Posted this in the other thread, but I'm sure those two were mislabelled as being back compat in the last big Xbox sale they did. Could just be an error in the system that's carried over.

Holy shit MW3 and Oblivion backwards compat?!

The sale starts Tuesday for non gold members...and Tuesday is always a backwards compat day right?

Oh, what a tease.

I'm betting on:

Skate 3
GTA IV
Burnout Revenge+Paradise
Tales of Vesperia
FFXIII Trilogy (FFXV Pre-order bonus?)
Catherine (Not that's its top level, I just have a good feeling)
Elder Scrolls: Oblivion
Mass Effect 2+3

for the month of November.

Not bad so far, still pulling for Catherine+Burnout.
