Always wanted to play epic mickey!
Honestly it's not even worth the bandwidth to download it. Even if you don't have data caps.Is Epic Mickey 2 worth picking up? I haven't played either of them before.
Yeah, first one wasn't that bad. Had it on Wii, and while it was a bit disappointing by what I was expecting it's completely playable and enjoyable.Fixed that for you. I enjoyed the first game, but the second was an abomination.
I'd honestly given up hope seeing SVC: TJ&E, given that the other collections have been BC for a while now, and I thought that the rights had reverted back to TJ&E's co-creator, Greg Johnson, for Back in the Groove, so this is a wonderful surprise!
Finally ToeJam & Earl!
I wonder why it took so long since there are so many of those Sega Vintage collections that are BC already...
Toejam & Earl has tricky licensing details. The characters themselves aren't owned by Sega.
It's why they didn't make the Sonic Racing lineup also.
Glorious!! Absolutely tlove his game. One of The best preorder gifts ever.
How does the port of TJ&E and does it hold up? I had a Megadrive as a kid but I never actually played it. I feel like I should try it
TJ&E despite being a classic, is definitely not a game for everyone (moreso than the other 8million times you've heard someone say that). The majority of its design is tailored specifically to screw players over, and a good amount of its charm hinges on your ability to laugh at the misfortune it bestows upon you.
I'd say its cheap enough to be worth giving a try, as if it clicks with you then it's great fun. Ideally, find someone to play it with, and insist they be Earl (you don't want to be Earl).
I don't like the sequel Panic on Funkotron much. Completely different type of game (more of a standard platformer) that I feel gets boring pretty quickly in comparison.
Thanks.
I like rogue likes and I've heard this being referred to as one in a way by a few people. I'm also okay with getting fucked over in games as long as it's done right and not just dumb cheap bullshit.
I think I'll pick it up next week and give it a try.
Weeeeeelll... there are a few things I'd definitely say could be counted as dumb cheap shit. Basically there are two presents you want to avoid opening at all costs, and should look to identify as soon as possible. One is "total bummer" (kills you) and the other (and one of the most sadistic things I've seen in a game) is the "randomizer", which shuffles all your presents, so you won't know what each is all over again. Keep those in mind, and you should be all good!
since Tomb Raider 2013 is already on XBO as "the definitive edition" i think it's unlikely (but not impossible) the 360 version will hit BC.So thinking of getting an Xbox One soon for Doom (played it and loved it) and I'm interested in backwards compatibility. Looking at MS' official list there's some cool titles on there like the Gears trilogy, GTA and Halo but there seems to be some glaring omissions:
Sonic Generations - All the other Sonic titles but not the best one of last generation?
Tomb Raider 2013 - Rise of the Tomb Raider timed exclusive for Xbox One but the original title not available?
Any word on these two games in particular?
it seems Team Ninja themselves seem to really not like anything Itagaki was responsible for during his time there.

Wouldn't be the first time I admit.
I'm a fucking idiot. Honestly was not aware Tomb Raider 2013 DE was even available on XBO. Genuinely thought it was only on PS4 for some reason. It's even in Game right now for £15 pre-owned. Thanks man for making me aware of its existence. Looks like I can enjoy Tomb Raider 2013 on XBO after all. You're a life saver!
But happy to milk the IP for all they're worth. Seeing what Dead or Alive has becomes since pisses me off.
The sooner we all accept that Ninja Gaiden II isn't coming, the sooner we can stop being disappointed twice a week.
I could maybe understand there being a small chance if being owned by Koei Tecmo was the only strike against it coming to BC but..
Apparently its not just that, as it seems Team Ninja themselves seem to really not like anything Itagaki was responsible for during his time there.
I mean, if the existence of the Sigma games, Ni-Oh being exclusive for almost no reason while every project Team Ninja is currently working (that we know of) is also not appearing on Xbox, and Koei Tecmo's support of BC up until this point isn't enough to tell you it isn't happening, I don't know what is.
I really think that they (Team Ninja) don't give a shit about Xbox players in general anymore, and aren't interested in making their back catalog available for players they have deemed irrelevant to their bottom line.
Which is cool, cause Ill never touch a single game KT or Team Ninja make as a result.
Itagaki is completely irrelevant. Not even Ninja Gaiden 3 is BC and it wouldn't explain all those Dynasty Warriors games and spinoffs not being BC either. Koei Tecmo have released plenty of Xbox One games too.
Your interpretation is way off.

Nah, I think he hits the mark.
Hayashit is a Sony fanboy.
At this point its getting a bit off topic so I'm just gonna keep it short: I simply don't agree, and your decision to respond with Ninja Gaiden 3 not being BC and Dynasty Warriors of all things as some sort of counter argument to everything I wrote followed by the bolded comes off as unnecessarily cocky.
As matter of fact, your statement about KT releasing "plenty" of games for the Xbox One made me go take a look myself and I found all of 7.
But 20+ on PS4 alone.
Also, NG3 not being BC doesn't really strike me as something that hurts my argument considering its still published by KT and I directly mentioned their unwillingness to support BC.
Most importantly though, I'm fine if my interpretation is way off, because it being off means great games have a better chance of being made available on current gen consoles.
Hayashi doesn't dictate company policy, he doesn't have the right surname.
But you are promoting a narrative that Koei Tecmo won't support BC of ANY Koei Tecmo game (a few dozen games) because they don't want Itagaki's games on there (all 3 of them). I'm sorry that's just bizarre. Even supposing they wanted to snub Itagaki's games they could just sign off on all their other games, they don't need to go all scorched earth on BC.
You're right I exaggerated somewhat their Xbox One support (I must have conflated XB1 support with PC in my head) but if this assumed BC boycott was against the format/brand as a whole why would they have any Xbox One support at all? I think their dwindling support is in line with current trends with Japanese publishers replacing Xbox support with Windows PC support.
Ultimately we don't know what has gone on and those who do know are unlikely to say anything but the Hayashi bogeyman theories that put Itagaki on a pedestal just don't seem credible to me.
Woah there, no I didn't.
Koei Tecmo's abysmal support of BC and Team Ninja's treatment of the Ninja Gaiden franchise post-Itagaki are two separate points I made to explain my reasoning behind stating Ninja Gaiden 2 isn't coming.
At no point in any of my posts on the subject did either of those things mix into the same point.
Then I apologise for misinterpreting your posts.
I really think that they (Team Ninja) don't give a shit about Xbox players in general anymore, and aren't interested in making their back catalog available for players they have deemed irrelevant to their bottom line.
No need to apologize, upon rereading my posts a couple of times it turns out you had a perfectly good reason to think that:
I worded this poorly.
Wording makes it seem like it being BC is up to them, but the game is published by KT so they actually wouldn't have any say (normally).
A better way to put it would have been saying that even on the chance KT started supporting BC, Team Ninja's seemingly changed attitude concerning Xbox could result in yet another obstacle, if its not one already.
in other words... is it safe to assume that buying a cheap x360 is the way to go if we want to play Ninja Gaiden II?
What about both Naruto games made by Ubisoft? (Rise of a Ninja and The Broken Bond), are those likely to be part of the Xbox Compatibility Program or will they share the same faith?

I've never played the rebooted Mortal Kombat (9) on Xbox 360, and since its story mode is still praised so much, I'd like to play that before checking out Mortal Kombat X.
Does MK9 ever go on sale on XBL? I'd prefer digital, but the only cheaper copies I can find now are on disc.
I'd like to say if you want the DLC, get the Komplete Edition. You'd save a ton going that way.According to XBLDB, it's been on sale for as deep as 5 dollars a couple of times. XBLDB hasn't really been updated since the beginning of this year, but their old data is accurate, I think.
The truth is: we don't know. We can guess, but we've been surprised before.in other words... is it safe to assume that buying a cheap x360 is the way to go if we want to play Ninja Gaiden II?

Thief isn't BC. Neither is MGS GZ. Neither is Sleeping Dogs. You might be thinking of Bioshock. There's a few games where the 360 version of an existing Xbox One game went BC.
Shadow Complex
Thief
Sleeping Dogs
Castle Storm
Limbo
Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes
Darksiders
I'm sure there's more. Hell, in some cases both versions went GwG.

I wish Sony will release a backwards compatibility app for PS/PS2/PS3 disc games on PS4 someday...(not gonna happen)
