Xbox One Launch Thread [Thread being archived 1/1/14]

Anyone know what colour the power supply normally shows? It seems to switch to white when he powered up, so yellow may be the standard standby colour, but I would have suspected green.

Can you translate what he said so we can get a idea behind what he is trying to say?

He said he got the console this afternoon , he thinks the guilty is the power brick and he don't know if the power brick light must be "orange", and when he tryied to turn it on, the console try to turn on and immediatly it turn off. He said it is sad because he bought Ryse and Forza.

Honestly he has it sitting on a Xbox 360... lol

hes saying that hes not sure if the power supply should be orange and he presses the button & it does the chirp but it doesnt stay up, and he really wanted to play ryse and forza ( then shows the box)

the orange power brick means its on standby and im assuming it would turn green when the xbox one is on & if the power supply was faulty it would of turned red (going by how xbox 360 worked)

EDIT: thanks for the link for the LED color meanings

Mine's always white.

First but not the last. Perhaps the power supply is borked.

Woah, just listened to yesterday's Bombcast and had no idea you could sync a controller via Kinect. You can just sit on the couch, press the sync button, hold up the controller, and it syncs.

lol. Did not know that. Funny how the Gamespot guys when they did those long play sessions, kept having to go the console to sync a controller.

One thing I don't understand is why MS went with a weaker GPU, I understand the RAm thing. I think a beefier GPU would have made this even better.

Not 100% sure on what I'm about to post, so there's that, but:

Because its all on one chip. Embedding the eSRAM forced them to use a smaller/less powerful GPU. They could have expanded the die, but then costs go up, yield goes down, power usage and heat would likely go up.

what other games have you been playing Frankie?

I am being careful to only talk about stuff Major N and Albert P have already mentioned. Besides, my impressions would be the bias.

But man. I am loving my entertainment center right now.

Also: TOP TIP - when you get your Xbox One, watch the tutorials. The console does SO MUCH. And you can make that experience deeper and easier by watching 'em.

"Xbox, Help."

Then select "How to Videos and Tutorials"

I am still discovering cool stuff.

You guys are welcome to love or hate the OS, but there can be no argument that it is incredibly deep and full featured.

So who is getting Battlefield 4? That is the only game I am getting because I allocated the rest of my funds towards my dad's birthday next month. If any of you are getting it, shoot me a friends request.

Saw a demo at best buy, not not playable which was odd

They don't reveal the entire unit as half of it is covered and it still looks huge

Hopefully it's playable somewhere
