Xbox One Launch Thread [Thread being archived 1/1/14]

PAULINK

I microwave steaks.
I'm curious about this as well if anyone knows.

(Oddly, I am also considering switching my PS4 copy for Xbox One - just because I have many more friends on Xbox, so I think I would enjoy it more.)

I'm dumb, I shoulda took a look at the back of the box when I saw it at target. The main reason I want to switch over is because of controller preference + my god damn ps4 controller is broken right now and on it's way to sony.

Anyone? I know I saw some pictures in here damn it!

edit: perfect gif below me.

I am being careful to only talk about stuff Major N and Albert P have already mentioned. Besides, my impressions would be the bias.

But man. I am loving my entertainment center right now.

Also: TOP TIP - when you get your Xbox One, watch the tutorials. The console does SO MUCH. And you can make that experience deeper and easier by watching 'em.

"Xbox, Help."

Then select "How to Videos and Tutorials"

I am still discovering cool stuff.

You guys are welcome to love or hate the OS, but there can be no argument that it is incredibly deep and full featured.

I was JUST thinking of this..I didn't expect to get back on the X1 train until I got my pre order in. I realized that I'm kind of lost on the features etc.

I loved my Zune 30 GB so much... I still use the Zune software for my music collection. :D

Ha! I still have mine! That and the Zune HD. I know they didn't do great sales wise, but the Zune HD was a massive success in that it spawned the modern/metro design language that we now see everywhere with Microsoft products.

Alright...this is my set up. I'm thinking about putting the Kinect right in front of the bottom of the television. For some reference, the TV is 73" and the bottom part is about 2.5 feet from the ground. It should work alright from this height right?

Awesome. I never had the original Kinect, so I'm kinda clueless about the set up for the whole thing. I can't wait till Friday. I keep refreshing Amazon...they've had me stuck in "Shipping Now" for about 5.5 hours now. I'm losing my mind! haha

Frankie - thanks heaps for that. I was a little lost using the UI last night and this would be really helpful. Will do it when i get home tonight.

I still cant get over how quick it is to exit games, change games or go back to the xbox UI from inside a game. Everything is lightning fast.

I just realised that until more games come out, i really dont need to pick up my PS4 next month because the only thing i want is killzone, and it hasnt been getting great reviews.

Good quality stream of someone playing Xbox One. Installing Ryse right now. Seems to be a bit of wait.

Is it odd that he can't play it yet? It's more than halfway installed. With AC4, Madden, Knack, and Killzone, I was able to start playing almost literally within seconds of it starting the installation.

Brad on Giantbomb said it took 3 GB to load into the main menu and 90 seconds after that to get into a chapter.

Looks like this guy is downloading and installing the full game.

Well that would explain it.

Yes he can play it but it seems the streamer is AFK.

That "Hello from Seattle" is not exactly new. Its hidden in the Windows Phone OS on exif data I think. And it was on the side of the Zune HD devices.
