I remember one GAFfer with that machine-gun sounding disk drive with his PS4. I'm assuming a faulty drive from the vendor. Slot drives aren't as reliable as tray drives unfortunately.

Yeah - hope they fix that. Dead Rising got stuck at 0% for a bit - didn't say downloading, just said installing. It really should have two progress bars on it or something.

I'm not sure you can turn the IR blasts off. Just don't use the voice commands that send off the IR blasts, like "Xbox go to HBO", etc.

No, the L.E. doesn't have the Season Pass(es). There are (apparently) two: Car Pass and Expansion Pass. There's also a Super Pass (according to SmartGlass), which is likely Car Pass + Expansions Pass.

Yeah xbone can just pass through hdmi without sending any remote commands.

The only thing is your xbone has to be on to watch tv. It doesnt pass through with the console being powered off.

They had some at gamestop. I picked one up. They made the original Kinect mount, which was fine.

Watch the first minute of this video. Saying "Xbox watch TV" doesn't bring up the One Guide. Likewise, saying "Xbox snap TV" won't bring it up. You won't see the One Guide unless you use commands like "Xbox One Guide" or "XBox watch ESPN".

Likewise, it's not blasting anything if you're not using the latter commands.

Sorry, it's Xbone, everyone calls it Xbone, even Microsoft acknowledges it these days. Check who owns Xbone.com.

it may have negative connotations for some people, but it is no longer some inherently negative thing. It's just an easy and clever abbreviation now.

And this is coming from someone who almost always calls it XB1 or Xbox One.

I am in Southern California and at 5pm there were about 40 people already waiting at Gamestop. At Best Buy there are two lines, one for people who have reserves and one that don't. There are about 20 in each line. This is a little bit more than there were for the PS4 launch.

I don't mind that. Sure, it'll add a minute to get to watching cable, but not a big deal. My concern is that overlay coming up each time I switch a channel using my harmony remote, or xbox interfering with the cable box in any way (outside of bugs which is expected for first while).

Another great example is Obama Care, that is even acknowledged by the US Governement. It doesn't mean it's a bad thing, I think fan boys get way too defensive.

My Xbone is paid off and ready to roll at midnight. U got Deadrising, a play n charge kit and 12 months of gold. Might pick up Ryse.

Is Crimson Dragon really that bad? I kinda wanted to check that out

My local Best Buy had a few folks around as did a Gamestop with the thunderstorm and rain going on. The other Gamestop had just one guy sitting there, even the store was empty.

I have a gut feeling the Xbox one will sell more in the U.S than the PS4 during the first 24 hours.

Hope everyone enjoys the system and doesn't get one of the hopefully few faulty units. Would be excited about tomorrow if I didn't have to get a presentation. At least I'll have something fun to come home to after the embarrassment :D

The overlay won't just pop up without you calling for it. Your cable box still has all its functionality, it doesn't surrender anything to the XB1 other than sending the cable signal through the HDMI port.

It's the non pre-order line you have to worry about. lol

Not the same thing, the Xbone thing happened due to the face that it is the easiest thing to abbreviate it to when proncounging it. Blame the name Xbox One and CoD: Ghosts have a dog in it, plus the DRM policies boning consumers. I have taken to call the XB1 the Bone, because it sounds fucking awesome! Day One 2013 BABY!

Sweet! Thanks for the info! Fools already charged my card so I'm good. Just got to get one of those PDP Kinect things. My son will have a field day if I leave it in front of the TV.

Bought the PDP Kinect mount for $20 at bestbuy, it even includes a cam privacy cover which is a nice touch. So if you cover the cam, can you still use voice commands?
