Watching cable through Xbox. Looks perfect. If there is degradation, I'm not seeing it. I have U Verse.

Fuck I love this console. It's only going to get better.

My shit is "out for delivery" and I'm sitting here with with DR3 and and $55 in xbox monies. I have to go to work in an hour and a half and shit shit shsisisjsndkdkudkjhb!!!!!!!!

Repost from XB1 Hardware Thread. Wanna see if anyone here has had the same issue.

Alright, here's what happened. Got back from GameStop, plugged it all up, plugged in through Ethernet, turned it on with my controller, and the green start up screen popped up. I was there for a couple of minutes and thought that it had frozen. I pushed the power button but nothing happened since I didn't know that you had to hold it down for like 10 seconds. I unplugged it from the wall, unplugged the Ethernet (I have wireless as well), plugged it back in and turned it on with the power button. Same green start up screen, was there for a few minutes, screen went all crazy for like 3 seconds (kinda like that white noise/snow flake thing when your cable tv is out), and then it turned black. Waited like 2 minutes after that and then turned it off with the power button. Plugged the Ethernet back in, turned it on, green screen again, was there for like 45 minutes and then I turned it off again. Got in contact with a MS guy via chat and pretty did the exact same thing with the same results. Went to bed, got up and went to work, now I'm here eating lunch while waiting on a call from Xbox Support. Haven't turned it on since.

sooo, i played two games of bf4 and each times at the end im back at the dashboard and the game has to reload. wuts goin on?

The update went super smooth for me. Love the One's WiFi card as it easily picked up my dual band router so I picked the 5 GHz band to leave the other for everything else. The pad is amazing and so far the UI seems super responsive. Voice commands are working pretty good and redeeming codes literally takes a split second. Downloading KI now...

Sounds like BF4. It's crap on PS4 and PC. I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped the ball on the X1 too.

Easy to believe if you think about it. He did imply that he has a small TV ...

My recommendation to him: if you're happy with the One, don't get a bigger TV. Mo inches, less pixels, mo problems.

(sorry, couldn't resist. I did get a bigger TV rather than a One for my PS4, partly because I can't buy a One until 2014 anyway)

I'm not sure but it seems some people are freaking out about having to wait at the green screen and prematurely turning the system off without giving it time to do it's thing.

Yeah but other folks have told me that I shouldn't be stuck there longer than 10-15 minutes. I was stuck there for 45 minutes and 30 minutes on two separate occasions.

Got everything hooked up a couple of hours ago. Everything is working fine, no Live hiccups, no LOUD NOISES (it's reallllly quiet) or metallic scorpions eating the inside of the Xbox One. Download speeds and whatnot seem to be slow at first but pick up after a bit. Really liking the UI, was a bit skeptical at first, but I got the hang of it quickly and I'm enjoying it. First disc I put in was Dead Rising 3 to install, but I haven't had a chance to play it yet. Got my Killer Instinct and the Arcade version installed and running. Currently letting that beast of an update for Forza happen.

Quick question: How do I put it in stand-by? Or is it in stand-by when I turn it off with the controller/button on the console?

Okay tried it again and after five minutes that weird screen thing happened again and now it's just black. It's was all dotty and mostly pink and stuff and was like for 2 or 3 seconds. This only happens when I'm trying to do it over the wireless. When I'm doing it through the Ethernet it just gets hung up at the green screen.

Yeah, the long bar is dumb, but that will definitely be something patched by Sony to eventually organize it better.

But aside from that fact, the UI is much faster, cleaner, and practical. Everything is much easier to find and get to. The Xbox UI is just a mess.

Got it and am updating now. So far I really dig the feel of the controller, I do see the bumper thing mentioned but it's based on how you used the 360 controller. I always had my finger on the side to hit it with the middle of my index finger, which is perfect here.

Love both PS4 and XB1 right now, but the XB1 UI is something else and I love the new controller.

I agree it shouldn't be that long. It took mines 5-10 minutes max. But even that might be enough to get people to panick.

Now that Xbox One is out, are there videos of the TV features that are not simulated. That feature has me excited for the Xbox One, it looks really slick.

I was worried about the changes to the controller but the bumpers are fine for me and the rumble added to the triggers is great. Forza feels awesome! Also surprised that my Sky+HD is working fine through the Xbox given that it's a 50hz input and my Xbox is outputting at 60hz. The lack of One Guide sucks though.

Edit: Forza takes forever to download on a 16 meg connection btw :( it doesn't help that my Xbox randomly stops the download and starts another. Forza is at 60%, Fifa at 80% and Killer Instinct is almost done. Is there any way to set the download order? I started Forza first expecting it to finish first :/

Edit 2: Kinect is coping admirably with my Scottish accent so far, far better than the original ever did.
