It replaces homing/spiral stuff with the special powers. So, instead of homing, Reiko has a magnetized cup, that attracts the ball. The IAP doesn't bug me. There's generally plenty of cash to buy booster packs, with the exception of the very highest rated boosters. I'm early enough in the game that they seem very expensive, but that may change as I progress.
Cool...I've been playing a lot of HSG recently so this is throwing me a little being similar but different -- calculating wind and elevation in particular. Played about an hour last night. Solid title if you like golf games. Definitely nice for someone looking for an HSG fix.
Pros vs. HSG
-Packs are fun.
-Abilities are cool though I haven't had the chance to play with more than a couple of them.
-Physics are generally pretty good. Not on HSG level but I will list it as a pro as it definitely doesn't feel pre-set like most other golf titles outside of HSG.
-Meter is a copy of HSG but feels good -- nice balance there in that at least starting out it's tough to hit a perfect shot and the degree of draw/fade is fair depending on how much you missed by.
Cons vs. HSG
-Very little audio feedback when you hit trees, bunker, etc. Physics when you hit trees is weird -- it seems to go through but just slow down without changing direction? I can't really tell but the interaction with the environment in HSG feels much more "real" to me. Stuff like ball floating over bunkers is weird.
-This is probably just a matter of taste, but I miss being able to set where you hit the ball on the fly, which also feels more real than just predetermining. Also does hitting the ball low give it more of an arc? I haven't noticed. Seems like you need to do "chip" instead?
-Kind of don't like knowing exact wind speed and exact trajectory (that doesn't factor in wind, but still). Maybe personal preference.
-Environment overall feels pretty dead.
Will play more tonight -- want to get some of those Elite packs and see what's in there.
