I believe so. Don't quote me on it or Ballmer will punch me. I believe it is almost ten feet.
Punch you from the grave?

Is this ... real life?
I thought only Xbox 360 owners were switching this gen!
Very easily.
* Cable is very long (easily long enough for any Earth TV height)
* Kinect's improved viewing angle also makes it better at sitting under your TV, in front of the stand since it can "see" floor at a FAR more raked angle now
* IR blaster is total Honey Badger and can EASILY hit a device anywhere in the same room (even if, like mine, that device is DIRECTLY beneath the Xbox One)
* Is also surprisingly good in noisy environments
I am not sure. Don't quote me on it or Ballmer will punch me. I believe it is almost ten feet.
Nope, I grew up with Playstation. Then PS2. Then PS3. And now Xbone (at a time when the Xbox brand is not exactly in the best situation while Playstation has done pretty damn well for itself). At the end of the day they are just game consoles. Plastic boxes. I don't believe in identifying yourself with products despite whatever marketing forces may want to indoctrinate you with (on either side). If you don't have the money for both choosing your first console is as simple as doing a cost-benefit analysis of what games and ecosystem you prefer more and what money you're able to put down.
KI is going to be great for idling during lobbies or match-making.
Just have your game setup waiting for match-making and chill in KI's dojo and practice your combos.

Can you do that?? Go from game to game and resume where you left off?

I agree with you on so much stuff it is scary.
Thanks for posting, but to clarify something posted earlier, is it possible to play/suspend two different games at the same time to enable instant game-switching? It'd make this matchmaking system pretty nifty.
If the games were purchased digitally, yes you can. Obviously, when we went back to discs this is something you loose because you need to go insert the disc.
There are still some details to be worked out that may be game specific.
So there are some details still TBD. But the intent of how we built the system was to do exactly that.
Sorry to nag you for further clarification but I'm genuinely curious.
Do BOTH games have to be purchased digitally? Or would it be possible to switch between games if only one of them is digital.
Like say you're playing from the disc of a game like Ryse, Titanfall, Halo or whatever and you're searching for a multiplayer match. Would it be possible to switch over to a digital only title like a Killer Instinct or Crimson Dragon and play that while the matchmaking runs in the background? Or is this only going to be available if both titles are digital?
Great question, and that exact scenario was why I put in the CYA statement around "some details to be worked out"
I'm not sure the answer. I'll know more later.
Outside of doing all the setup, configuring Kinect and hooking up my cable box, the first game I will play/install is Forza 5. My list in order is as follows:
1. Forza 5
2. Ryse
3. Dead Rising 3
4. Battlefield 4
5. Need for Speed Rivals
6. Skylanders Swap Force
All the download games like Kinect Sports Pre-Season, Killer Instinct will come during some of the breaks in-between some of the main games.
Going to be a long ass day of playing and messing around with all the functions of the system and games.
This is going to be the longest week of my life. Preordered Forza and intend to get Crimson Dragon and Killer Instinct. If the reviews are where I hope they are come Monday/Tuesday, I'll be grabbing Dead Rising 3 as well, probably digitally.
Problem is I'm leaving town on the 23rd. I plan on bringing my new console with me on the week-long trip, but I'm not sure how good my odds are of setting up the system and downloading three games between the time I get home from work on launch day and when I have to leave Saturday afternoon.
Basically, I hope Live is more stable on Friday than PSN has been this weekend.
You can use 360 sticks for KI?
Lol that's a new one for me.DATSADIRAASS
I'm so excited, it's almost here, few more days...

Fuck I'm so excited!! Im still debating too if I wanna play Dead Rising 3 first, or BF4 mp
It's funny, considering where we were after the reveals (PS4 - "For the gamers!" vs XB1 - "TV TV TV TV TV") that XB1 is actually looking in better shape games wise right now. It almost certainly has by far the stronger launch lineup, although Sony set that bar way low.
You won't, XB1 is the only device that is not getting the Netflix redesign because it's notAny of you seeing a new Netflix interface on the 360? It looks pretty nice. I wonder if this is what we will see on XBO?
Anyone think there might be one or two announcements at the launch party?

compatible with XB1's overall design language.
VGA is more likely. MS haven't announced anything at a launch event in the past, doubt they'll start now.
