No one has answered yet and since it's 20 pages after now, how do we get those slipcases that form the X? Is it a pre-order thing or can I just buy in store?

I think Pre-Order to guarantee. There will be Day One editions left after I am sure. Think of them as first prints that have come out recently.
Not sure if they actually exist, since we have seen other covers with a banner like my current avatar. And when Major showed the pallet they didn't have slips.

Get the Day One editions of all 3 games. (physical versions) They said on one of the Twitch streams "if you buy all 3 Day One editions for Dead rising, forza, and Ryse, you get collectible art that combined to make something cool."

What are those other Day One box arts I'm seeing then? With the character/car on a grey background?

Does anyone know if the install footprint of a game is the same whether it's a digital purchase or bought on disc?

Sure it was recently confirmed if you install a game, play from disc but later decided to buy digitally, it's the same file.
So would imagine they are the same size files.

I heard somewhere that the cards inside with the DLC codes have some artwork that fits together. So maybe that's where we'll see this instead of slip covers?

Given the install sizes of some of these games I wish 1tb could have been a reality. You're looking at, what, 7 or 8 full-price titles before you're maxed out? And that's before any other media. And no expansion option on the immediate horizon either.

I've been wondering this because from what I've seen of those download pics posted from the Target guy some of those are different than what is reported on the back of the boxes.

IRRC back of the box of COD states 49GB yet the DD is 39GB. Same with Dead Rising 35Gb back of the box yet I believe the DD was different. In the 20s maybe.

That is the front cover. The ones that form an X are the back covers.

Ah ok thanks. I don't like either so I'll stick with bog standard thank you :p

I averaged the launch line up, it's around 17GB a game, which is 25 games on 450gb.

Hmm maybe you're right that it averages out as less. I just saw a few of those 40gb-ish installs and went yikes. Considering going all-digital so I never have to screw around with discs again.

My hype is pretty much through the roof here. Seriously, I hope Amazon comes through and gets my system on Friday like it's set to. I've never ordered a system online before.

I mean you're right that you could use all your space on 9 games, you'd have to be really unlucky that all the games you chose are 40gb~ though! It seemed to me that most were under 25gb and only a few around 40gb (ones that didn't even make sense).

I'm seeing the 500GB drive as just what I'm going to use while waiting for the USB external drive support. At that point I can add as much as I want, as long as it can play games from that drive.

I'm hyped so much I'm having dreams about it lol. I dreamed I got the system and held the controller, and the front of it was concave, with the sticks almost recessed into it, and the stick heads were tiny. I thought "ugh, it feels weird, maybe I'll get used to it."

I finally paid mine off with gift cards on Amazon a couple days ago. For a while I thought I wouldn't make it, but I barely did. No money for games though, haha. So it'll be Killer Instinct and Kinect Sports Wave Race until the 5th, then I can pick up Dead Rising and Battlefield.

BTW, can I get added to the train?

I asked Penello about this on twitter but no reply. If you can't then it's kinda useless having external support surely?

Well I fully expect external drive support to mean an official Microsoft Xbox product only so I wouldn't expect the same freedom of choice Sony gives you. Would be nice though, you never know.

Yea, if you can't install games to it and play them from it, it's sort of useless. I had been assuming you could though, since (I think) you can with USB drives on the 360. Sony's resolution for HDD space was allowing users to change out the drive, I assumed this was MS's solution.

I believe they said external hard drives could be used for the exact same stuff as internal.

At launch external support for pics and files and such. Game installation functionality is coming early 2014.

Okay that's less scary than I thought! Digital here I come! Unless Amazon has a launch BOGO!

This is, er, interesting.

It honestly doesn't mean much, most PC games are usually much smaller than 43GB installed and look great. It all depends on how much the developers want to worry about compression/decompression of assets.

Not to say 2K14 doesn't look a lot better than Live 14.

Haha, nice. I have mine paid with $112 left but I've got KI and BF4 paid for. Now I'm deciding if I want to try and get one more or not but I'll probably wait for reviews.

Actually, if it's anything like the 360 you should be able to use anything. So yeah, it should be nice :)
