As far as I know it is! There was an ad in store for it as well as one of the employees informed me along with "First come first serve, even with pre-orders".
I know our Best Buy had no PS4 launch but they are having an Xbox One launch, so it should be interesting. What is a safe time to show up for one of these? It'll be my first, I'm assuming 9pm is fine?

just payed madden 25's awful. looks like a ps2 game in spots. the only thing next gen looking is the grass. Glad I got it free on the buy 2 get 1 free deal. still gonna sell it, awful effort from EA.
Knack and Killzone SF are great though, great graphics and very entertaining experiences.

For a guy like me, who don't know anything about American Football, Madden NFL 25 actually looks but and I'm really craving a NFL game. Haven't played one since NFL 2K1 on Dreamcast I think.

I know a few people in retail and this is what I have been told:
Depending on where you go, a lot of stores will have very few if any extra Day 1 Editions. Day 1 Editions are for those that did a pre-order only and there are no additional Day 1 Editions being made. Chances of walking into a Store without a pre-order to get a Day 1 is very slim.
Xbox One Standard Editions however, will be widely available as the majority of retailers did not do pre-orders for Standard Editions (Green Box Ones). The few Stores where I have some contacts told me they had a lot of Standard Editions to sell come the Mid-Night launch and more for the regular AM opening.

Took advantage of the Best Buy trade in deals and have $365 in Best Buy gift cards. Unfortunately I do not have the Xbox One pre-ordered and will have to wait until I can find one on their shelves.

I have Madden 25 on PS4. Expect the XB1 version to be nearly the same. Visually, it is barely a step up from current gen. There are differences but not that big. Behind the scenes though it seems EA has done a lot of changes to the game play to make the game play much better. How much of this is using next gen power and how much they held back from current gen, I couldn't tell you. I've noticed some big differences in zone coverage. As in, you can actually play zone coverage. Plus it is possible to get pressure on the QB. If you want NBA2K14 level visual upgrade you'll be disappointed. If you want a better playing version of Madden you can check it out. Or rent it first to be safe.
I ain't gonna lie. I have fond memories of Zoo Tycoon 2 and a new version of Zoo Tycoon is drawing me to XB1. If I were to get XB1 it would be for Dead Rising 3 and Zoo Tycoon, such drastically different games! One is super happy fun time building your own zoo the other a zombie apocalypse to escape.

To be fair, Amazon have yet to let me down on any preorder item. But you know how it is, you like to work yourself up to worry. In fact, it seems with Northern Ireland orders they almost seem to ship preorder items a day earlier than the mainland, I guess assuming it takes longer, which has nearly always resulted in me getting my stuff not just early, but a day earlier than the rest of the UK. Hoping that trend keeps up.
Just paid off the rest of the system. Now, I'm holding out hope that Amazon decides to do some sort of Xbox One game deal, if not, I'll just pick up games on Friday. As it stands, I'm thinking Ryse, DR3 and Battlefield. I'll definitely consider the $20 version on KI and will play the hell out of Kinect Sports Rivals Preseason.
What turns me off with Zoo Tycoon is, that it seems to lack any depth and punishment. I can't build my own roads and small details in my zoo and there doesn't seem to be any large consequences other than a higher power taking away your animals.
But a relaxing game for most ages it probably is.

I have Ryse, Dead Rising, and Forza Day One editions preordered from Amazon but hate waiting for them to deliver, does anyone know if stores (Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, or Toys R Us) will carry those editions?
Just paid off my x1 with Ryse day one and DR3 day one. Heads up also if you have a power up rewards card and 5000 points to spare there is a coupon that gives you an extra 50 percent toward Xbox One items. Just paid 421 for the box and 2 games after trading in some shit I didnt use. Guy at gamestop also said they were gonna get a few X1 for people who didnt preorder come launch night.

Anyone know if Amazon is planning on doing another B1G1/B2G1 deal like they did for the PS4 last year? Only have Dead Rising 3 on pre-order since I'm big enough on racing games for Forza.
Also, for that variant of KI where you get the arcade game and all of the characters unlocked, is that available over XBL or do you need to get some physical package (I know about the Shadow Jago one, I'm assuming it'll be paid DLC at some point)?

So if I could only get one Xbox One launch game, which would anyone recommend? I can probably spring for more than one, but I don't see any particular launch game that looks great - I don't like racing games so Forza is out.
I would like to have at least one game for my new Xbox One, but none of the launch games seem particularly appealing.

i would totally go Dead Rising 3. Seems like they sorted out the framerate and Vancouver know how to do a great DR game
You know it's going to have a lot of meat in regards to gameplay and contentIf you don't like Forza, I would say Dead Rising. It offers more value than Ryse. If you want pure eye candy, then go with Ryse. You also have Battlefield, CoD (lol) and Assassins Creed available.

Still haven't decided if I should pickup my preorder at midnight, or get a good nights sleep and go in the morning. It's not like I'll be able to play it if I pick it up at midnight. I think I just made my decision.

Delivery or in store pickup? Wondering when they usually charge for in store pickup.
Have to now try to get a second console for my brother (he's moving to Japan, so I want to use Xbox One's skype to talk to him daily). Going to try to go to Gamestop at the midnight release, and see if they get extras.

I'm grabbing mine and midnight setting it up but not playing anything. Friday will be pure gaming bliss.

Digital gets the extras too i believe. They haven't set up the store on xbox.com from what i see though.
That's probably what'll happen with me, but I can sleep in Friday through Sunday and play Xbox all day. It'll depend how rested I am on Thursday, because I get up at 7:30am.
