It plays even better. Got my hands on it at a one tour stop. The rumble in the triggers sounded like such a gimmick, but after playing it, I'm impressed. Being able to feel the ABS lock up in the left trigger "pedal" and feeling the tire spin in the right trigger if you give it too much gas is really immersive.

Guys I'm still on the fence when it comes to ryse. Graphics look breathtaking but I haven't followed up much on it after all the negative E3 press. Can anyone give me a quick update on what the general consensus is now (game play wise)?

I browsed some of the eBay Xbox One auctions, and noticed people posting their Amazon preorders receipts--sucks that I have to pay an extra $40 tax whereas some states still don't charge tax. California used to have no Amazon tax...those were the days.

Gameplay is a lot more complicated than you probably think, at higher difficulties timed parrys and rolls matter if you want to survive. Executions are not required and starting a execution requires to beat down a enemy until a skull appears over their head and then pulling the right trigger to start it. Executions have a system where completing the execution's QTE correctly will give you a boost in health, experience, gold and something else I don't remember. There is also a combo system where you can start a combo and use a execution to cash it in and gain a bigger boost.

I think there will be parts of the game where you could strategically use executions to help with your health in a large fight or even use it as a way to grind experience and gold by getting the biggest combo you can and cashing it in.

I want to believe but this is one of those games i'm going to rely on reviews. The embargo for ryse is tuesday, right?

I have to disagree with the bolded, in the little time I played with the controller I found it much easier to use the bumpers because I could press them with the fleshy part of my index fingers. I always found the placement a bit awkward on the 360 controller.

So MS fucked up the controller? Its funny how it seems like Sony is trying hard to emulate the xbox 360's success and MS seems to be trying hard to emulate the PS3s every screwup.

360 had a great controller I really expected them to just make slight improvements but keep it the same not turn it to shit.

Microsoft didn't fuck up the controller it's just the inevitable happened and a few people don't like it. The Xbox One controller is actually a big improvement over the X360 controller in many ways but that doesn't change the fact that preference is subjective.

They basically did keep it the same, I wouldn't base it off one opinion that they turned it to shit.

It has better analog sticks, better dpad, better triggers, rumble triggers, no screw holes, no battery compartment, more hand filling design, switch from springs to magnets on triggers, better bandwidth with 5.1 audio support straight from the controller so you can now use TB headsets with a singly wire to the controller, IR sensor that allows you to remotely sync to a Xbox One, a standby mode that saves battery life when the Kinect sees that it isn't being used and more.

Yes but it's 6 AM EST on Thursday, the fact that the game has a day to itself like Forza shows confidence in my opinion. If they wanted they could have held the embargo for Thursday night which would have looked much worse.

Yeah, the differences are very subtle once you are actually playing the games. The only thing that really stood out to me specifically was how jarring those rumble triggers feel.

Im not good enough to compete online and my time playing will almost be purely with the lady. We must have put a couple hundred hours into MK fighting just each other. Online, we just....lose.

I really enjoyed the ONE controller when I tried playing KI and Forza with it, as did my girl.

I think its just heavy 360 users and "change" clashing some. Its a really solid controller. The PS4 controller is pretty cool, but I like how much more simple the ONE controller feels.

I got to use the controller too. The rumble in the triggers is excellent, but the whole thing definitely feels cheap, as someone said earlier. Maybe I'm just spoiled by the DS4.

thanks for that. Really looks good in that demonstration . Think I'll preorder it now. Really bummed that Forza 5 limited edition is sold out in EB games Australia. Anyone know of any other place they might still have it for preorder. No luck at JB hifi either

Having used both, no, they didn't fuck anything up. Sony improved theirs somewhat, but Microsoft merely iterated on something that was already the best. I have far too many issues with the DS4 to even consider it in the same class as the 360 controller.

I haven't used the controller yet but the main sticking point seems to be the bumpers and how you hit them on the 360.

I don't think any reviews, but the general XB1 system embargo/UI stuff. Forza is Wednesday and Ryse is Thursday.

I've been (mostly) hearing the exact opposite. Really can't wait to hold both controllers to decide for myself!

Giantbomb is having a KI3 stream(In the morning maybe even more?), IGN is reviewing NBA Live 14 at 9 AM EST and the Console embargo lifts at 11:59 PM EST.

Not sure what else might be coming tomorrow.

Xbox One's controller is seriously the perfect controller. Everytime I hold it I just can't wait till Friday comes so I can actually play a game with it.

Wish it worked on PC. :(
