Thinking about buying Battlefield 1 Revolution. Is BF getting a patch? On page 1 it says it does, but can't find info anywhere that confirms this.
Smelling my own farts but I'm kind of impatient for 4K Halo 5 at my house. It's fun to play at work but I know my own TV way better and want to see how it looks there.

I think it will be getting an update, just being kept quiet due to Sony deals. Its 1 of a few more games im hoping get an update, others are Overwatch, Seige, Destiny 2 (im sure itl happen) and a not that i play them much but Black Ops 3, Infinte warfare and modern warfare remastered.

Come on. Really?
It's new for 99.9% of users who are not in the Alpha program.
Pedantic much?
Finally, he also teased that the public beta for PlayerUnknowns Battlegrounds on the Xbox One is coming soon, and that Microsoft will share more news on it shortly

They need to add Alien Isolation to this list, that game is just too dang good (and freakishly terrifying) to just leave to History as is, especially since were never gonna get a sequel to it. I need another reason to play through it again!
come on my dude we need that ODST campaign in 1080p60 too
Yup. Reach is the odd man out there. The ODST campaign in 1080p 60fps is actually an add on to the MCC. Was free for most day one owners and am pretty sure it's $5 or something.
Why is there no sequel to a very rare anf successful Alien release...mad disappoint.
Halo 5 is going 4k, was there any other enhancements detailed? I'm a bit foggy at the moment, lack of sleep.

Just bought Mass Effect Andromeda Deluxe Edition for $17 in hopes they will at least do the patch like they did for the pro. Probably wishful thinking though since theyve basically abandoned this game. Will the x have a boost like mode like the pro?

I look forward to playing it on the XBO X, but the thing I want most in this game is not to have distance-based framerates on animations. It was so incredibly jarring to see an enemy running and jumping far away at 30fps when the game was running at 60.
Not sure if it's true but I read they are adding HDR as well.
When HDR was first introduced in the Xbox Line with the Xbox One S, i asked stinkles if Halo 5 was going to get that update. He replied no. This was probably like last year so i didnt look up the quote for this reply. But of course, things change.
STINKLES GONNA CHIME IN AGAIN?

Yes you're right. You'll definitely see significant benefits from running on HDR sets, and of course the game itself renders in 4k and takes advantage of higher resolution textures (will be a serious download) and assets, but HDR specifically was tricky for a couple of reasons specific to H5 - the first being of course that it's two years old and it's not just a switch - you have to "touch" all the content. The game was developed during the period HDR systems were still being ironed out. Even now there's a bunch of 10 bit/Dolby Vision etc issues for consumers.
This was largely resolved in time for Halo Wars 2, and so the HDR implementation for that will be full since the game was built from scratch to support it.
The second - and from my perspective more important aspect is that Halo in particular has color symmetry on level designs as an aspect of balance and matchmaking. One side is blue and one side is red, often in fairly subtle ways. We already balance for that difference and applying changes retroactively would be a test issue at a grander scale than many other games. So we made the choice to concentrate on other IQ aspects for the update.
Obviously that won't be an issue for future titles, since they'll be targeted for those systems in the first place and the art, test and design processes aligned.
And besides, it looks very pretty anyway.
There ARE methods for just blanket applying HDR to extant content, but the results are mixed and really dependent on what the underlying material looks like. So we developed for a conservative and safe outcome for that particular software.
I REALLY need an LG OLED. My neighbor got one. We have one at work. And it makes my TV look like crap. I'm reminded of the Pioneer Elite gulf.
Bit OT... maybe not, but I bought a 55" LG OLED in expectance of my One X, so any content updates are golden to to my ears.
I'm jealous. I have a great Sony XBR set, with proper 10 bit HDR, nice clean game mode, works great, looks fantastic - until you look at it side by side with the OLED. I can't justify a new TV purchase for probably YEARS now.

Which Sony do you have Stinkles?
Couldn't tell you off the top of my head - XBR, 65 inch, 2017 model.
Edit. This one, I think.

The 900e's are very good sets. I have a 2 week old LG OLED E7 65" right now. I have contemplated moving to the Sony ZD9 since they just dropped price. One thing with LED sets is they can get much brighter than any OLED, but you do loose that great true black. The ZD9's for a LED come closest than any other LED set to OLED black level's,..but seeing them together the OLED just pops a bit more...but if you very bright HDR the Zd9 is the clear champ. Main reason I am debating the move is that LG has had some issues with firmware updates nuking stuff. For example the 2016 OLED's had a firmware that lowered the light output for HDR making it duller than it was before. On the 2017's they just had a firmware that gave all picture modes when in PC mode the same low input lag, but it introduced color banding/gradients that just look horrid. So they tend to not fully test and end users end up screwed.
I have turned off auto updates on my set, but still debating on making and exchange..but I have to admit I have really fallen in love with the colors that pop with a true black OLED panel.
BTW...and I know you have been asked this a ton...but at 4k/60fps Halo 5 are the animation on distant enemies still at 30fps? I know it is sour subject, but we would all love for this to be fixed.
Lastly, any word on when we will get official information in regards to H5 4k update?
Thanks!
So Halo 5's patch doesn't have real HDR, but still some benefits on HDR TVs? Bit confused now.....
With 4K native 4K is meant?

The Major Nelson link in the OP now shows Not Found when I click on it. I think he may have reorganized his website. I can't seem to find an updated link right now.

Yeah, I know about that one. I meant on Major's website. I'm not sure if this is a glitch or intentional. Wouldn't make sense for him to just take it off.here you go
https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/xbox-one/xbox-one-x-enhanced-list
this was all I could find after searching, his list does appear gone though
Still cant believe that ME Andromeda tanked so hard that its not even going to get an X patch. Do i play this on Pro now? Or wait to get smooth 900p performance on the X when it hits the Vault...
Well if you have a Pro it's probably just to go for it, I've kinda lost hope by now for a XB1X patch.
Maybe it will be a QB situation and one person on a team works on a patch.

I hope one brave 343-er works on making MCC in 4K.
We need Halo up to scratch!
