Xbox Reveal Thread: Durango Unchained

That was pretty poor show. No real gameplay at all, Sony had real live gameplay played on stage three months ago. Also the specs where skipped over really fast, that tells a lot.

What a startling way to prove Microsoft's incompetence, an absolutely dire conference in every sense of the word. Packed with features nobody wants (Kinect/blocked used games) and features most of the world can't even use. All topped off with further butchering of the Halo IP and a cgi trailer for Forza.

Great show! The only thing I didn't like was the fluff marketing talk.

This is exactly what I expected and wanted from the conference. Show off the OS, hardware and controller. I'm disappointed that the hardware is that big, that's definitely not going to help with putting it in all living rooms. The OS looks absolutely awesome, especially the speed. That's the key. I'm curious to see how accurate the Kinect 2.0 is, and how well it works as a human-navigation device.

It's funny to see people react to the lack of games, especially when we've seen a lot more games than I expected. The new Forza looks great, a new IP by Remedy sounds awesome, and that engine for the EA Sports game doesn't even look real; if that's real then I'm excited.

I was really worried about how different the new controller looked at first, but the more I've seen the more I like. They've fixed the two things I disliked, the d-pad and bumpers, so I'm excited for that.

I can not wait for E3. 15 exclusives, 8 of them new IP's, all within a year of launch. Going to be a VERY good E3.

That was the worst conference ever. "Do you like making fantasy teams of American-only sports?" "We're making a Halo tv series but we're not going to show you it" "Here's Remedy's new game which is half live-action footage and half fuck-knows what" "Here's the new Call of Duty that looks worse than Crysis 3 or Metro Last Light".

What the hell was that??? lol

looks like it was more of a cable box and less of gaming.

Also I was not impressed by the graphics shown for this box, will see what they show at E3

UGLY BOX!

f**ing disappointing

PS4 wins for sure

I'm sorry but what a hodgepodge and honestly some of the things were so distant for people who aren't living in god's country.

Plus 8GB.... Reiko's on suicide watch

At this point I'm pretty sure following the conference via Twitter reactions was much more entertaining than actually watching video of it would have been. Good stuff.

this was horrible, but expected. Microsoft don't have exclusives worth $500+. The only reason i bought an Xbox 360 was because it was an affordable $300, with Halo 3 and Gears of War. Times change, and no fucking way am I gonna pay more to play the same games.

Oh man the salt here, you guys are freaking hilarious.

Xbox One, Day one thank you very much.

yeah, salt... it's not like people have no reason to be genuinely underwelmed by what they showed.

If you don;t care about TV integration, fantasy football or kinect, why get one of these? especially with the confirmed offline pass stuff?

If you're part of MS's target audience, fine, but they did not do a good job explaining why an audience like Gaf would want this.

That was ok for what it was, Xbox One is an ok name but it looks like a futuristic vcr. I really would have liked to have seen some airplay like functionality.

I'll probably be sticking to PC only for a year or so unless one of these consoles turn out absurdly cheap or there is something nutso at E3.

They're right, nothing about that call of duty game was safe. They had sneaking, take downs, and dogs. Dangerous game design as fuck. All that with BF3 level graphics.

Having seen both reveals, I've taken a very cynical view towards xbox. They staked out their territory here. They spent the vast majority of their time talking about television and movies, and the games they did show weren't very impressive visually. And now we're hearing more about how there's no used games on xbox...

I think PS4 really has the high ground here.

Completely underwhelming for me.

The name makes no sense, they spent the vast majority of time talking about what it does as a TV tuner and we didn't actually see any realtime gameplay. Not really all that exciting, to be honest.

I guess you all missed the part where they said 15 exclusives in the first year and 8 of them being new IP?

they said PLANNED in the first year. and the very fact that only 2 were shown, and barely any gameplay, just shows that the rest of them are nowhere near ready, and will probably not release in the first year.

Figured this.

well i like the console, i like the features, i love the look of the machine itself

now to wait for e3 to see what actual games are gonna be like on xo and ps4

Extremely underwhelming. On par with the Nintendo Land fireworks fiasco. I understand that the games will be shown at e3, but so far it seems like more of the same. I'll pass final judgement when I see all the new original series they are promising.

PS4 looks extremely, extremely appetizing as my second next gen console after this. I already own a Wii U, but everything about the PS4 screams that gamers come first, whereas the XboxOne seems to be more focused on being an all in one entertainment center.

The only saving grace

15 exclusives, Halo TV Show, Hyper Sensitive Kinect, MUCH better looking controller. The fuck is wrong with you people, this was amazing as an introduction to the capabilities. E3 is just around the corner, and the system isn't even released yet.

Increasing number of features relevant to today's technological-social needs.

This can only mean that the industry crash is upon us.

I really like how Kinect technology allows you to use voice commands to switch between video sources. I'm so sick of pressing the button on my remote whenever I want to switch between playing a game or watching a TV show.

GAF is back yay!

All I can say is that was extremely disappointing. MS only cares about streaming TV to you and Fantasy Football apparently.

And LOL at the "5 billion" transistors for technical specs. Very disappointed with this reveal, but hey at least they showed the box.

It was so great that Sony's stocks went up as a result.

>.>

That was terrible. Everything about it was wrong. If MS is going to be all about "entertainment" with Xbox One and not about crafting a library with more breadth than Sports, Shooters, and Racing games then I don't see the reason to get it over PS4.

Actually, all they showed today was Sports, Shooters, and Racing games.

That's a parody right?

This was a total train wreck. Weak hardware, a huge focus on TV and the extra features, almost no games shown and full Kinect integration are all very worrying signs of things to come. No used games just sealed the deal. They're going to have a monster E3 to reedem this with the hardcore crowd. Oh, and it looks terrible. Controller looks nice, though. And I bet that out of those 15 games, 10 are going to be Kinect shovelware.

Omg terrible presentation. 40 minutes about voice, menu, multitask while you play etc etc.... But what about the games? 7 cg video +. 5 minutes gameplay of cod 65 nextgen boring edition and nothing more
