Is that a better dpad on that controller?
Looks like it. Overall the controller looks pretty good with rumble in the triggers and what looks to be IR in the front for Kinect.

it's not all about the games anymore, but if you want those to sell, you have to appeal to an audience outside the hardcore base. i think microsoft was successful with this.
Honestly, I thought it was good to great conference. Not sure what people were expecting. You're either going to get tons of games on E3 or all the TV stuff at E3 - pick one. I think a lot of its fairly cool but I better be able to connect if I live outside the US to some of these features. I live in Canada, if I got TSN as a similar partnership with ESPN, I'd be all over that.
comparisons to sony's event are inevitable, and personally, i feel sony comes off as the lesser of the two. they come across as presenting some sort of prototype that does one thing really well, while microsoft presented a product that does a bunch of things to make your life easier.
Lol. Wishful thinking huh?Damn I bet Sony is shaking in their boots right now. Targetting the bro audience was very smart because that is the audience that made the 360 the market leader. With all of those media features, the Xbox One is going to destroy the PS4.
Moneyhatting CoD content first guarantees that PS4 will have a small CoD playerbase again.
did they show any real ingame stuff. COD had some obviously but everything else... I'm not sure.
We all know what most of them will be.

T.T
For people outside the US, that whole thing was diabolical
agreed, i don't play consoles anymore but if i was gonna spend $500/$600 for one they better do more than play video games, and MS tv features if as advertised looked pretty cool and fast.i, for one, welcome our xbox overlords
this was the presentation i was expecting. heavy focus on users abroad, highlighting features that could benefit everyone, and bringing out the big guns when it counted.
so the presentation was very good. the voice-recognition stuff hasn't been done like this for standard tv-watching, and i think that and the gesture stuff will be what sells this machine to the masses. the xbox one name is kinda referencing that it's the one device you need. it's the machine microsoft was trying to beat sony to the market with.
all that's left will be price, but i think they have made a good impression with some broad appeal. steven spielberg halo tv show, ea sports guy on stage, and ending it with a premiere of gaming's biggest console franchise. it's not all about the games anymore, but if you want those to sell, you have to appeal to an audience outside the hardcore base. i think microsoft was successful with this.

i just think sony might have painted themselves into a corner right now. we'll see if their e3 conference expands on the ps4's features, or if they double-down on games. i think that right now, microsoft's in a better position moving forward.
Some of the press already playing Microsoft lap dog. Guy on the Polygon post show just said he was really impressed. lmao
I still can't get over Microsoft thinking telly is a challenge.
What a fucking joke of a conference.
This made me laugh. I've played SNES games where the fish move when I get near them.Wow, in call of duty, if you swim near a fish guess what!!
They move!
What a fucking shit-show.
I'll still buy one. It'll probably sell more than the PS4 and a huge part of my soul will die.
Time to get off gaf till the people that ONLY showed up after the reveal are gone. 15 exclusives and 8 new IPs sounds great to me.
You always have to bear in mind that when you're a European watching Microsoft conferences you have to take all those grandiose claims with a massive pinch of salt until we know how utterly crippled all that exciting functionality is over here. All the bits of the presentation you were impressed by, until we know more we have to expect them to be only for Americans.
Well, it was awesome when they showed how you could watch a movie trailer while you are watching a movie. I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to do that.
The console wars are over.

I honestly don't know what people expected.
