Xbox Series S Revealed (Brad Sams) - $299 Price

Looking at the box, seems its only fit for AA

Great. I'll get one when the price drops to 200€ for all the exclusives I missed this gen and the next gen ones (no PC here).
It should be one year or less for it to happen unofficially here in EU.

I wonder if with Smart Delivery if S versions of games will be smaller. It may make 512gb not quite as bad as the equivalent on XSX and PS5.

Is there something funny? Do you know something that we don't know? From the available information to EVERYONE the I/O optimisations on the X side are weaker.

Please enlighten us.
What I'm saying is that for all the I/O optimisations that you think the PS5 is doing magic with, we're talking about something that takes 1 second to load on the PS5 will take 2 seconds on the Series S/X. You are saying that means you can't compare the Series S - and I guess the Series X - to the PS5 lol. That's ridiculous.

2 seconds, show us.

It's good to not be on a "side". I'm buying both consoles and we've never had a gen like this so it will be interesting to see how it goes. No need to fanboy for one side while sharing memes. But don't let me get in the way of your duties.
Come on, I clearly have a preference, I don't have an agenda. The XSS might be my first xbox console because it's cheap and the few xbox exclusives I've ever wanted to play should work fine on that box. However, I will most likely always buy Sony & Nintendo and only glance over the fence to see what's going on in the green camp.

Let's be clear however, preference !== fanboyism.

You speak with such certainty about these things. Are you another one of these vague insiders?
Just stop assuming and take stuff at face value. FROM WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR, the situation is like how I previously laid it out.
If Sony comes out and lays it's hardware and features on the table, and we check it/benchmark it against the XSX and XSS and it turns out to be like you said then great.
Until then, it's hearsay, wishful thinking, and almighty FUD what you're spreading.

I think it's a good price, and a good console. You get better than One X performance overall, super fast load times with the NVME and the ZEN 2 CPU... just a lower end GPU that targets 1080p gaming - which is probably 70% of kids out there. Honestly I think it's nearly perfect for what it is.

There is a bit of an issue at the minute with how Microsoft have Game Pass and Live Gold setup IMO. Base Game Pass at £7.99/mth requires £6.99/mth Live Gold (only 1-3 months available) so is terrible value against GPU at £10.99. As it stands XSS will cost £249+£122 in the first year then £132/yr there after before rises.

So the original PS4 cut the legs off of the Pro and the Xbox One cut the legs off of the Xb1X? While we're at it, is the 3070 cutting the legs off of the 3080? Do Sony or MS care when we go for the cheaper console if we use the same store and services? Nope.

Are you being retarded on purpose?

What was the launch date on the PS4 and the PS4 Pro, they were on the same day, right? Same month? Same year?!?

It will obviously sell more but MS is planning on it. It won't stop enthusiasts that want the better graphics from getting a XSX though. No need for personal attacks and name calling.

wonder how long Sony will keep there head in the sand, just get the info out there already.

Seems like a great entry-level box for those on a budget. That audience probably doesn't care about 4k anyway, they will simply continue playing on the 1080p screens they already own.

My only concern with this thing is game compatibility. Will it always be compatible with all XBox software?

It doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things, but i do wonder if there will be many, if any, lost sales?

There is no need for personal attacks, which is why i presented it in the form of a question (Not to be shitty, it's just a perfect get-out-clause in business). I did jump in feet-first thinking you were another disingenuous cunt of a shill. So, my bad.

Thats one ugly box. Price is okay I guess for a sligtly better One X? Never was ineteresed in it tho. X gon give it to ya.

So just overnight xbox's pr talking points of not being "interested" in outselling playstation or nintendo blew up in their own faces. Not to mention muh power.

Anyways,
Sony are not gonna cave btw don't expect ps-5 news this week

It would be very unprofessional and hurt the brand significantly if they announced something for ps-5 this week after stating prior there'll be none. In fact, I believe the next announcement they make will involve the big red emergency button game that's timed or exclusive to ps-5.

I like it. The PS5 looks ridiculous, this looks proper. I'll get some fake wood panelling and make it look like a cool 70's speaker. Stick a lava lamp next to it and I'm good to go.

300 dollars for 4tf in 2020.

that's actually a lot of money for when consumers know they're buying the shittier version of Xbox

You get the whole package though, ray tracing, a much better cpu, a better GPU than xbox one X, an SSD, all the new technology like RDNA2 etc. How is 299 a bad price for all that lol

It's called strategy. I'm glad MS pulled the trigger so Sony can do a nice cut on the digital version.
I know it's pushing hard, but a $349 for the digital PS5 would render the XSS DOA.

I don't get the black circle. It's an Xbox not a Braun radio.
It's called cooling. Other company's design philosophy is "smother that bitch in plastic, it'll sound like a jet engine, but who the fuck cares it'll still sell".

You can tell MS killed it with this one based off how much Sony fans feel the need to shitpost

Yup, they're really grasping at straws here, picking at the design, when the PS5 looks like a vulva and probably still sound like their mother vacuuming in the same room, under load.

I'm still on the fence for next gen, but checkerboard 4k isn't enough to sway me to 4k, so this might just work for me.

For console only gamers who tight on budget. Series S and PS5 great combo. Series S for all Game pass stuff and PS5 everything else.

Incredible price based on the selling points listed. I could care less about 4K and more so about the frame rate, which is why I have always played my games on PC, this could change the tide but sadly the games I like to play are just not there on Xbox.

Sony can't stay quiet for much longer, this should get interesting.

When they things like DoA at 299 price, you know they shit posting.

PS5 will sell more units regardless coz of good momentum and mind share but there's no Series S or X DoA at launch.

So ERP estimated retail price.. Does that mean if PS5 comes in at a lower price point than they anticipated they have wriggle room...

Or its just that the RRP Recommended retail price has to be published properly by some kind of body?
