It's also one of the games the developers of EU took influence from.I second this. Game is fantastic and it's a great port.

I was really afraid Invisible, Inc. would get largely ignored, and it seems to have happened.
Is this what all juniors are like?free to play maybe ?
Consoles have USB ports and hard drives. They could make mods work. Unreal Tournament 3 did right?
Not a chance.free to play maybe ?
free to play maybe ?
Absolutely yes, gotta feel dat pressure.Timed and of the escort variety too?
free to play maybe ?
20 years in the future, and pretty much everything we did in EU / EW was unsuccessful, and the aliens won. So this is kind of a role reversal, where Xcom are more mobile and fighting against the odd to get Earth back
...Where are you coming to this conclusion?free to play maybe ?
10/10 post.Absolutely yes, gotta feel dat pressure.
The XCOM website has been updated and has some other small details:
- The mobile base is called "The Avenger" and is a converted alien ship.
- There are five classes now I'm guessing "Ranger" is the new one. They mention "Momentum" as a new class ability.
- "The state of the world affects each combat mission's environment."
- "Use concealment to ambush enemy patrols." (YES.)
- "Loot enemies for precious gear and artifacts."
- You can save fallen soldiers by carrying them to the extraction. (YES.)
- "There are virtually infinite combinations of map, missions and goals." (YESYESYES.)
- Also confirms head-to-head multiplayer on generated maps.
I bought this at (PC) launch, played a bit and some other games got in the way. I'll make sure to finish it before XCOM 2 releasesValkyria Chronicles. No, seriously.
god yes, game is so goodValkyria Chronicles. No, seriously.
Man, I wish Xenonauts had XCOM's two-move system instead of TUs. I still haven't finished it (and may never go back to it, with everything else that's out there), in part because the tactical layer is so fiddly and slow.Xenonauts

It starts out slow strategy-wise, with a lot of exposition/story, but it gets much stronger in terms of gameplay later on.I bought this at (PC) launch, played a bit and some other games got in the way. I'll make sure to finish it before XCOM 2 releases![]()
Save fallen comrades?
What is this babby dumbing-down?!
In 2012's EU, you make the memorable characters. That game was all about emergent stories of each soldier making you feel attached to them, which in turn made you feel absolutely horrible when they died.
Anyone here complaining about the PC exclusivity need only look at the sales of XCOM to see how this is obviously going to go down.
2015: PC Exclusive
2016, Summer: Tablet Releases
2016, Fall: Console "GOTY" Releases
A shame but that's probably why it's pc exclusive anyway. No console version, no purchase unfortunately
...umm, you can easily use a mouse and keyboard on consoles with an adapter.
Modding is the obvious answer.
ThisThere is a difference between the system being able to use a mouse and keyboard and a mouse and keyboard coming with every system. They have to design the game around what comes in the box, not what peripherals a user possibly has.
PC brahs, if I loved EU/EW, what other strategy games would you recommend? For some reason Civ doesn't look like my kind of game.
I'm guessing it will come to consoles eventually unless they hate money.
free to play maybe ?
It kinda fits with the shift from X-COM to XCOM, where a single soldier is much more important, and where you're basically building one or two teams of superheroes rather than interchangeable squads of rookie fodder and one or two vets.If they do something like Darkest Dungeon, where the saved person is all fucked up in the head and it takes forever for them to get up and running again, I think it'll be fine.
It starts out slow strategy-wise, with a lot of exposition/story, but it gets much stronger in terms of gameplay later on.
You mean the money they barely made from consoles?I'm guessing it will come to consoles eventually unless they hate money.
My gut says this will be announced for consoles too. Maybe at E3. Not saying it will be, but it was quite successful on consoles so it makes sense.
Some previous posts suggest some pretty abysmal console sales for Xcom last time round,y

I feel like Klei dropped the ball a bit in promoting it; if I hadn't bought in from the alpha way back I'm not sure if I would have ever heard of it.
Hey, XCOM-GAF! Pick this game up to fill the void between now and November!
Well I guess that means I have to play the first one, it's still in my backlog.
If it doesn't have controller support then there is zero chance of me purchasing it. Couch gaming with a keyboard and mouse is not something I enjoy doing.
How is the content delievered? Who hosts it? Who approved it? On Steam, all of these issues have turnkey answers provided by the service's platform infrastructure. Firaxis would have to develop a system of delivery entirely on their own and find a a way to do so without the hardware makers throwing a fit. Not worth it.
+1
And the new game better support Xbox 360 controller input. I'm one of those PC gamers that hates using a keyboard and mouse to game.
Yeah, I'm one of those.
