I want to cry everytime I get mind controlled.
The problem is when you run into a pack of them. One isn't that bad, two is manageable, but three or more can be tough. Of course, when you get psionics of your own, it becomes less of an issue as Psi Inspiration can boost everyone's Will by quite a bit. But when a psionic alien gets a turn, it's always a danger.I don't even know how you guys get in trouble with mind controlling aliens.
Unlike OG X-Com, XCOM's sectoid commanders need to be at shooting distance in order to control your soldiers (or it seems). As soon as I see their shiny noggins, I point all the artillery towards them. I only got mind controlled once, and in the next turn I zapped the bastard right away with the arc thrower.
That works? That's awesome. If you have enough HP to spare, just stand out in the open. The sectoid commanders will opt to shoot you with their pea shooter instead of MC you.
Co-Op. The only thing i want: Co-Op.What kind of DLC do you think will come out for this game? Have they said anything about expansion packs or anything? I would love an expansion that let me try to take over the world as aliens!
if you think you might get mind controlled, switch to your pistol before the end of the turn. Friendlies with pistols aren't too much to worry about.
Co "Mother effin" OpCo-op?

Meh. Best way to lose friends would be co-op.
Co "Mother effin" Op
I want to cry everytime I get mind controlled.
I can just see it now....
"WHY DID YOU MOVE MY MAJOR OVER TO THE LEFT LIKE THAT! NOW ALL THOSE DAMN MUTONS GET A FREE MOVE TO FLANK US! I HATE YOU, WE AREN'T FRIENDS ANYMORE!"
Still would be fun though
"I swear, my rocket launcher misfired, it's not like I wanted to kill 3 of your guys standing next to a car, honest!"
I don't see what co-op adds to a TBS game, at least not one with as low a unit count and tiny maps like this one. There is a reason tactical teams aren't a democracy.
XCOM co op is what i like to think a true 'social game', communication and trust is key.I really don't think playing a turn based strategy game with other people would be a lot of fun.
I think on normal as long as you save more than you lose, you can get excellent. I lost 7 civilians on one mission because a Muton was running away from me and killing civilians as he fled. How many civilians out of 17 can i save without the council busting my balls?

Plus the always amusing: "98% chance to hit.... MISSED!' would be quite fun.
If not CoOp then Mod support. Which i guess will be released after the DLC.
I don't think there is a single feature I would rate lower than co-op in my priority list for this kind of game.Co-Op. The only thing i want: Co-Op.
So there you have it: between 34% and 96% chance on a normal shot (inclusive), you’re better off using rapid fire if the alien only needs one shot to kill him (and ammo is not an issue).
So above a 30% chance for a normal hit, you’re increasingly better off to fire two shots, if what you care about is doing a lot of damage. And in XCOM, if you’re shooting anything with less than a 30% chance, you’re pretty desperate!

Nothing will be good enough when you whiff an "almost guaranteed shot" and then someone gets reamed. :/
*Still raw*
Mind control is really screwing me up. What can I do about it?

Is this worth a rent? I just finished my 2nd playthrough of Dishonored and have 4 days until ACIII...Any chance I can play through it by then?
Do yourself a favor and don't rent this if you plan on picking up Ass. Creed. Wait till after, you won't have enough time to play this, and then it seems you'll want to play through again and again and....
The first UFO mission after the Alien Base really screwed me over. I didn't realise they would be there, but worse than that, they were outside. If they are in the little room at the end of the ship, you can mess them up easily, but outside is annoying. I couldn't get a line of sight on the Commander, as Mutons were all around him, so I just retreated. It still ended up pretty bad.Mind control is really screwing me up. What can I do about it?
Hmm, I might wait and get ACIII for Wii U..I really want to play this..it's been too long since I've done some TBS and this looks amazing..I've only been ignoring it because I picked up Dishonored first.
Fuck it, bought it anyway. Dis gon be good.
