Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Hype countdown

Huh, I kinda like the QTE moment because it keeps me focused
Yeah, then tension can go up and you can say something like "I'm really feelin' it!"

Or in this game:

"I've only got a few years to live and all I do is fight wars all the time so I can live to fight more wars but despite how depressing that is I'm really - "

"Noah."

"Wot?"

"The enemies dead, innit."

"Right. Let's crack on."

I can't really choose. They're both better at different things.

XC2 has more great things overall when you take all the good with all the bad, because it's such a monster of a game with so many amazing things about it.

Meanwhile XC1 has less flaws, and it also fits everything together better into a cohesive package that is more than the sum of its parts.

But while it doesn't have as many flaws, it also doesn't have as many great characters as XC2's enormous cast of rare blades, or as many mechanics or so many affinity quests you can do and customizable Poppi upgrades and stuff. And what about how much cool martial arts moves are in the XC2 cutscenes? I also love the XC1 cutscenes, but XC2 leveled everything up in terms of character animation. Plus, you like Shulk? Well he's in XC2. So is Fiora, and Elma, and even Kosmos. You can hang out with them and go questing and build their affinity charts and stuff. No matter how much tighter the story fits together in XC1 and while the leading cast are better, especially the protagonist, XC1 can never say, "by the way it also has Rex and Pyra in it...and the kitchen sink."

Anyway, I really like them both a lot. I think the most important thing heading up to XC3 is to not put expectations on it to be too similar to whichever one is your favourite and let it do its own thing. All these games are different, with different strengths, despite their obvious similarities. Having said that, the vibe coming from XC3 really is that it's combining and building on the 3 previous games, with a story tone that feels like XC1, heroes feeling like they fill the role of blades from XC2, and the class system feeling like it's building on the high level of customization seen in XCX.

I agree, each game have their own distinct tone they are going for, XC3 will have lot combat system from XC1, XC2 and XCX but tone of story is gonna be very different than pervious games.

Edit: I also I thought the question was mostly about which side I would choose for war.

"Engage the enemy" is badass! Despite the name, it's not a battle theme, but the perfect song to play in the background as dramatic story twists are revealed:

Don't watch unless you've played Xenoblade 1 (spoilers)

Xenoblade games have quite a bit of battle mechanics, some of them could be quite complex. I thoroughly enjoyed Xenoblade 1 and Definitive Edition also has quality of life improvements done for it, so I think you should be able to get through the game with relative ease. As it's my favorite RPG series right now, I say go for it.
So I grabbed it yesterday and it seems great so far. I'm already invested in the story an hour in and the combat is awesome. It's also not as complex as I thought it would be. Break, topple and arts all seem quite easy to grasp currently, although I'm sure things will spice up a bit later.

Thanks for the recommendation all!

""Immovable Gonzales" is also a huge unique monster! It seems that he is sleeping all the time, but when he is awakened, he seems to get angry and attack, so it seems better not to stimulate too much. It's a name I've heard somewhere! !!"

"Grandeps of Chikokaku" is also a huge unique monster. You may suddenly attack, so be careful!

I guess it doesn't take much for this guy to reach Rage state.

I put 4 hours into the Xeno game on Wii. I then put 6 hours into Chronicles.

What are the odds I would finish this one? Serious replies only please.

I just realized the rage mechanic is similar to rage in Monster Hunter. I hope some monster have several rage points

If you only focus on the main story, I think you can finish Xenoblade 1 about 50 hours.

When it comes to roadblocks that stand in the way of Xenoblade Chronicles X on the Switch, Takahashi's answer is simple.

"Money," he laughs. "It's a massive game. Re-creating it would be really difficult."

Neither Nintendo nor Takahashi want to port Xenoblade X.

Yeah, sometimes I wonder if it's better if they reboot Xenoblade X rather than port it. We know that at first, the story was the focus but they scrapped it in favor of multiplayer gameplay.

Why do you guys play this? Do you feel obligated because there's no new F-Zero?

Wouldn't it be a better use of your time to write Nintendo asking for a new F-Zero than waste your time playing this game?

It was kind of fun, but a huge grind. I'd rather see them turn it into a real MMO, but then that would take away from the main games.

That is, unless XC3 wraps it up?

Some mofo left an BIG spoiler on a YouTube video title and I don't know if it's just a theory or an actual spoiler... Now I'm mad and won't feel better about the game until I play it some day in the near to mid future... If I didn't know there are already some people with the game in their hands I would care, honestly...

Boot up Mario Kart 8, tap your captain falcon Captain Falcon Amiibo, select his vehicle, start up the F-Zero tribute track... and then squint.

Squint really, really hard.

You'll be doing this for the next 10+ years.

Depends on the reason you've quit.

At the end of the day, Xenoblade Chronicles DE is still a glorified Wii game.

Just like "Engage the Enemy," "Counterattack" plays over the top of dramatic story scenes in Xenoblade 2. Usually with lots of cool sword fights and anime lasers.

It's a very popular song so there are a ton of covers as well:

Warning that some of these videos have spoilery footage as well

"Noahs can also equip themselves with accessories to strengthen themselves. Accessories have various effects such as increasing attack power and HP, increasing the effect of arts, so I would like you to try a lot! You can also get it with shop and quest rewards!"

"Residents may ask you to look for items. Requests are managed with a card called "Collepedia Card", and you can get rewards by checking the card when items are collected! Sometimes it's a natural gathering during the exploration, so it's a good idea to check it once in a while!"

Great video from NintendoEverything, an introduction for the series. There are some spoiler scene from 1 and 2, but I think it's out of context.

"At break points, Nopon is often a merchant. If you have a break from your trip, it's a good idea to equip yourself!"

"Nopon coin" is a special coin and it is very convenient. In addition to exchanging items at the dedicated exchange, you can complete it without collecting the materials required for the Collepedia card, you can cook and gem craft without collecting the materials, and even improve the class. You can also use it!

There are places where green light rises in various places, which is also called "ether channel". Here, you can store ether that is useful for adventure in the "ether cylinder", so if you find it, you can actively collect it. Ether is used as a material for equipment called gems, so it is necessary to become stronger.

"Milik Plains" is a song that plays in the plains that Noah and his friends visit at the beginning of their journey. You can feel the beginning of an adventure that mixes expectations and anxieties. I want to run around the meadow while listening to this song!

Whoa sounds good. Kind of going for the same role as the Gaur Plains or Gormott theme, based on the description

I think I decided to start this game from hard difficulty from get go, I'm familiar with Xeno's combat and the fact it's MUCH easier to craft gear and gems compare to pervious games thanks to Nopon coins, I think hard difficulty gonna be right choice for me.

I can't decide. Mastering each Xenoblade's combat feels like starting all over again to me. But I am worried normal may be too easy with all the cool new features we have like swapping characters during combat

I think with hard difficulty it make us much more willing to swap characters, use Ouroboros forms and using different classes, it also makes the exploration much more rewarding.

Also it looks like Xenoblade 3 is going to have MUCH better tutorial than Xenoblade 2 did and revisits those tutorials and even practice the new mechanics.
