"If you instruct "concentrated attack", all party members will attack the enemy targeted by the operating character. The number of enemies participating in the battle is displayed in the upper right corner of the screen, so if you have two or more enemies, you may want to defeat them one by one!"



"If you instruct "focus on fusion arts", party members will actively engage in fusion arts. This also has the advantage of making it easier to raise the interlink level. As you wait for the fusion, the number of times you shoot the arts decreases, so it is difficult to bargain there!"




"If you instruct "Meet", party members will gather around the operating character. The members in the gathering do not perform auto-attack or arts attack! You can also "dissolve", so if your friends' HP decreases, it's a good idea to gather once and have the healer recover."




One of the heroes, "Niina" (CV: Ami Koshimizu). The class is "Attacker", and you can use a blade like a sword to cut enemies with a splendid sword technique. Each time you make a critical attack, the attack power increases, so it gets stronger and stronger during battle."

"Niina is a celebrity who belongs to Agnus and is widely known in Keves because of her sword arm and ability to judge the battle situation!"



"Niina has a very high eye for the battle situation and has attacked Noah and others!"

Oh, interesting, for the tactics button, up is concentrate attack on single enemy, right is use fusion arts, down is assemble, the left one the didn't explain, but it's for "Combo Free." Seems for focusing on combo since Xenoblade 1 and 2 AI are not really great executing combo.

Yes, armpits hole on costume for Niina (Alexandria in ENG), my favorite kind of costume lol. I think it's the first time I heard Ami Koshimizu playing cool onee-san type. (recent games she dubbed is Perun in Xenoblade 2, Yuki in 13 Sentinels. Also in Spice & Wolf as Holo)

Yeah it was talked about in a previous jap tweet and as I understand it's "try to combo with whatever your combo arts are." So if a computer controlled character has topple they'll hold it, waiting for someone to inflict break

From what I've seen on NintendoLife preview, they seems improve the tutorial by a lot. Looks like they take the criticism of Xenoblade 2 to heart lol
They make the tutorial step by step. There's also VR room for training.

I loved XC2 but in that game they did pretty poor job teaching players to it's crazy most system.

Question for the Xenoblade obsessed; was there a strategy/complete guide book released for Xb2?

I'm not enthused about the battle system of Xb3 so I think I'd like a help to reference as needed... plus I haven't bought a strategy guide for an jrpg in nearly 20 years and wouldn't mind using one again.

I think there was one for Japan but not for west.

I don't really know, I think the wikia is pretty complete for guide if you're looking for certain item or monster location. For battle system, you can use this:


Polygon's preview confirmed that are auto-equip system for arts, gems, and equipment.
 
Thanks for the info guys. I hope someone makes one for this one as for me that was half the fun in a jrpg, poring over the guide.

I don't recall one, but I also don't think it would be as good as the free resource we have that is youtube experts explaining the game's mechanics. Here's some examples that might help:

Yup, I think the split team between BOTW and Xenoblade 2 really hurts it.
I absolutely LOVED the game but it had lot of QOL issues and technically not well optimized, but still despite losing half of their team for BotW development, XC2 still turn out great in my opinion.

This is why I have so much respect for Monolith Soft.

My theory is that the veteran member helped BOTW to make sure it's good. I think Xenoblade 2 was handled by more inexperienced team with vital key staff

Just watched it, basically the same info with Direct, even the footage they use are the same. There are some new footage showing some new areas. But still no info about pre-load, damn it.

I just realized in the art book, there's Mio's concept design with long hair!

I wonder if starting on hard mode is a good idea.

Hard is more fun when u know what you're doing, but even after I was good at XC1 I didn't understand XCX, and even after I was good at XCX I didn't understand XC2...

Core combat for each Xenoblade game are the same but the loop and your goal in the combat in each game is vastly different from each other.

Hahahaha, in Japanese she also speak roughly, so no problem for me.

In one hand you are right that Mio's screaming voice is better in Japanese but in other hand found it cute that Sena calls Mio "mimi".

Oh no, the nightmare returns lol. I've been in this place far too long, looking for the superboss to increase the party's affinity
Thank god we dont have to deal with that, even if party affinity does return, its not much grind to increase it because all them are in active party.
 
OK, I'm 10 hours into xenoblade chronicles DE. I can't stop doing all the side stuff...kinda confused by the see the future in battles part and just cast shield....is it lime a rock paper scissors thing?

Loving it, I spent all the hours in xeno 2 so that's done...just need to complete DE and I'm ready for 3.

The hype is pumping through my veins!

Based on what type of attack the enemy does, you need use different Monado arts, but also you can use different actions to change the future, like use Reyn's abilities to draw aggro away from targeted party member.

The basic goal here is you need interrupt enemies attack in order for that future not come true.

I'd figured as much, just getting to grips with it.

Loving rhe game though and I thought 2 was absolutely brilliant. Love the combat system, can't wait for 3!
 
If it wasn't for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, I would be losing it waiting for this game to come out. Anyone got any good story recaps for the first Xenoblade? I went through 2 a couple months ago, but haven't touched the first one since the definitive version came out.

I enjoyed watching Sarah Key's playthrough. Only 4 parts and is edited pretty well.
