Wow that is sooner than I expected. Amazing that Monolith can deliver these massive RPGs in a reasonable time span unlike some devs.

Now I just hope they don't go too overboard with time-wasting bullshit gameplay mechanics and embarrassing weeb stuff. They are truly good games if you can get past that.

Hadn't even bothered putting this on my periphery because I just assumed we wouldn't be getting it anytime soon. XC2 was shockingly deep and I hope this goes deeper.

. . .on the flip side I hope the devs can keep their inner creep in check because XC2 was ridiculous with the cheese. At least the trailer looks more XC1 than XC2 in the aesthetic.

These games don't have AAA budgets and it shows. That doesn't mean the game won't be fun (The first one and the "second" are really fun, less said about X the better), simply that they are easier to produce.

I'm honestly shocked we haven't got an X remaster on Switch yet.

Sheesh that fast? Switch software is en fuego this year!
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 came out in 2017 so I wouldn't call a 5 year development time "fast" or "soon".
After all, we don't know if the game has been in the works even before that.

What I like is that they announced the game existed in the first place close to its launch date.
I wish more devs, Nintendo very much included, followerd suit.

That's cool. I enjoyed the two previous games so I'll definitely be getting this. Hopefully the map is less confusing than 2.

I know it's been a while since 2 came out, but I did mean from announcement to *WHOOMP*, dey it is, bitches!

Nice surprise at the move up of schedule. Also was able to get an order in for the special edition on the Japanese store. No rush there yet.interestingly the game comes out in July but the special edition items in the fall in Japan so I picked up the The special edition that comes without the game. Will buy it separately in July.

In that time they also released a bunch of additional content for XC2, the Torna stand-alone expansion, and the XC1 remaster.

Looks good, I loved all Xenoblade games.

Apparently there's going to be some type of fusion between two characters where they transform into some kind of Tokusatsu. Might be cool.

Awesome.

I've played Xenoblade X (WiiU) and 2 (Switch). I didn't finish either one of them before burning out, perhaps the third time will be the charm.

Wow, they are bringing it out way earlier than previously announced. Though now it clashes with Live A Live remake. Xenoblade takes priority though.

Now I'm just waiting for NoE to announce this as well, along with that sweet Special Edition.

Wow. Has Nintendo ever bumped up a release date like this before?? Not complaining at all. Seems like they have other plans for September....Zelda Wind Waker release? 🤔

Started XB1 up again to play the epilogue that came with the Definitive Edition this weekend. I was very pleasantly surprised by that game, music especially, and the epilogue has some beautiful new tracks too.

This is coming out so quickly though, no way in hell I'll be able to get through XB2 and the expansion before then. I hear it's super long (and I love getting sidetracked)

I really like the tone of this, seems more XB1 than 2 (from what I've seen of 2).

Holy shit, are they fucking serious about 7 party members active at the same time? And some kind of mech-fusions? The combat system looks really ambitious. Awesome. Can't wait for the OST.

Changes to combat look interesting as that is the part I enjoyed least with the past games.
Wow at that resolution drop between cinematics and combat though. That was jarring.

Damn, so hype with the battle system. It seems based of Xenoblade 2 but they improve it. The fusion thing looks like Persona/Legion from Astral Chain.

The outfit swap really interesting, maybe it will change your arts? Noah blade looks really cool

This trailer made me believe that Xenoblade 3 will be linked to Xenoblade X. Maybe Aionios will be Mira hundred years later?

So.
February announcement.
Initially scheduled for September.
And now moved to… July??

The absolute madmen, indeed.

I'm not sure about how Nintendo feels about the IP, though.
Moving an exclusive like Xenoblade to the summer means they feel they have a bigger card to play in Q3-Q4, which in itself means they don't believe Xenoblade is big enough to do big numbers in the holidays.

Isn't there a japanese version of this? Can't stand english voices over anime or anime-like characters.

Good for the announce btw, I'm yet to get Torna and DE (so I can play Future Connected) so I'll probably play it next year.

EDIT: Nvm I found it myself... DAMN WANT TO FCKING PLAY IT NOW!!! But... damn, I hate being out of order :(

crap, I was hoping for that sept release date so I could have enough time to play 1 and 2. Guess it will just have to be 2 then.

Oh yeah can't wait to play this! Limited edition exclusive on the Nintendo Store is interesting. I hope I am around when they go up for pre-order.

the Special edition looks a bit basic compared to the last two, more like a generic Nintendo format throw away Special Edition, for reference

That's my prior games for Switch, this one looks closer to the mass produced Wii U limited edition box style which is a shame.

Did anyone else notice in the trailer that the female looking fusions power core thing happens to be placed at their vagina...

No just me?

Man not a thing about that trailer got me hyped, and the battle UI is shit just like past XCs.

I guess a positive thing I can say is that they did a great job of announce -> short time to release.

It looks more like 1, that's a good thing. A bit rough technically though but oh well, that's Switch vs huge open world games maybe. Wow, it shows like 7 party members in battle at one point. I hope the interface is much improved, because thinking of the mmo style of the first with so many...

That's freaking awesome. I wish I didn't have such a huge freaking backlog though, haha. I'll get to this one eventually.

Watching the trailer in a bit more detail:

- The fusion mechanic looks fun. I wonder if anyone can fuse with anyone or if it's specific combinations
- Seems like the party got bigger, there's some shots with 7 health bars while previous games usually had a party of only 3. Not sure if they all fight at the same time or maybe there's some sort of "tag" mechanic
- Oh no, there's 2 nopon now

For an open world Switch game it looks great technically. And the good thing about monolith is that artistically their worlds are always amazing too

Maaaan was looking forward to a little more in the limited edition set.
What all came with those? Here in the US with Xenoblade 2 we got an art book and a steelbook along with a CD with select songs on it. Xenoblade 3 looks like it might also include a regular box along with the steel book and art book. Definitive Edition was regular box with art book. We were a little more spoiled with Xenoblade X since that included a few more goodies like a custom USB drive with select songs on it and an art card and art book.
