Wow this was a great trailer, the combined forms are awesome! A cool new twist. Looks great from story, music, and combat, and I'm liking the characters so far. Really excited to run around the world they've crafted. Hope I can snag the Collector's Edition...

Monolith Soft is one of the best Nintendo studios, imo. They delivered XCX in 2015, XC2 in 2017, Torna in 2018, XCDE in 2020, and now are delivering XC3 in 2022.

Few studios are so productive.

And if it were not enough, they even help other Nintendo studios. Helped with BotW, BotW sequel and other Nintendo games.
They definitely are one of the top devteams in the industry. I really hope their new medieval action IP hasn't been cancelled because it sounds very exciting.

I just hope theres an option so the characters shut the fuck up in battles. Cause hearing a battle quip for the 1000th time is torture.

As much as I'm looking forward to this game, the game looks heavily censored
What does "heavily censored" mean in this context? Censored by who?

There's definitely a reason Nintendo has doubled their size in the last few years.

Talking about Jazz, the Jazzy battle theme from Torna was the best thing about the DLC.

I hope we get more songs in this style in XBC3

They are a pretty complete package. They make good games, at a good rate and are one of the best studios in the industry when it comes to flexing low end console hardware. Just compare the visuals in this to Pokemon Arceus which some people were saying just couldn't look any better because of "hardware limitations".

I'm with you. English dub is always terrible.
Well it's not about English dub quality, but the fact that it's English dubbed anime, it always sounds horrible in my ears, will skip entire masterpieces if it's the only way to experience and won't feel any single thing was lost

There are anime that actually like English dub better like Musishi, Fullmetal Alchemist or Ouran High School Host Club.

But they aare nime that YOU HAVE to watch it with Japanese voice like....

Well after watching the trailer a few times, I have to say I'm pretty disappointed. The cast is just not doing it for me this time. Maybe they'll be interesting in the actual game, but you couldn't post 6 more cardboard characters in my opinion. And sure enough, they brought the Nopon back and now there's 2 of them in the party. I mean they're a staple at this point, but I still hate them. I'm glad some of you are so pumped about this game, but it's just a huge bucket of disappointment for me personally.

Party size is too big, too much going on, onscreen. UI is still a clusterfuck mess in battle, and we haven't even seen it after all the game mechanics are unlocked yet. Transformations look like cheap guyver ripoffs, battle is slow.

I'll keep an eye on it to see if future media shows me anything different, but this is a major bummer.

Pejo Pejo That too bad, different taste I guess but man I complete opposite of you, I absolutely loving the character designs and what they are doing with its combat system and yeah despite of having large number character in battle the UI looks much more cleaner than pervious games.

Well I hope you enjoy it and I hope it does well enough to keep making new games. Maybe the next one will hit a few points for me. I loved X, 2, and Torna, but this....this just isn't it for me.

If you enjoyed 2nd game Torna then you should give it a chance before judging it so soon. You said one point that you also didn't like character designs in 2nd game until you played it , To me character design in the 3rd game fits the tone they are going for. In 2nd game it was much about boy meets girl and going to grand adventure so their cloths is much more flashy but in 3rd game its less about "adventure" more trying to survive since based on the trailer both nations are after them.

Also based on the trailer those two Nopon are not your permanent party members, they guest members.

The Xeno-games aren't my cup of tea but I'm impressed they managed to push this game forward two months.. Almost feels surreal in a post-Covid world.

I think I like character driven stories more than "saves the world" stuff, and from what we've seen, this is mostly "saves the world" stuff. Not that all of the Xeno games haven't been about killing god or saving the world etc in the end, but the moment to moment stuff was more about finding out about the characters and seeing them struggle against the odds. Again, it's too early to really tell, but from what I've seen my impressions aren't as positive. I could be totally wrong in the final product, I'm just going off of what we've seen so far.

What makes you think this 3rd wont have it as well? Especially the fact they are enemy of two strong nations, we definitely gonna see them struggle against the odds.

Seems like a lot of assumptions being made from a 3 minute trailer. Hope your mind can be changed once actual gameplay impressions come out!

God the flute theme is so good. Gotta be my favorite main theme of the series so far.

If you have a Japanese account (or Europe), it's cheaper to buy in eshop with NSO and the catalogue ticket. The Japanese version is pretty good deal. The game is 8,700 yen while the tickets is 9,980 yen.

Now see, this is a clearly "anime design" that is "sexy" to people (aesthetically speaking only. . .I hope) without going the "Fuck it just throw some tape on her huge milkers" style armor route.
Exactly! Huge improvement in character design over two.

That video that Mister Wolf Mister Wolf posted actually confirms a lot of my hesitations with the battle system, but yea I'm keeping an eye on it for sure. Again, I think all of the stuff we've seen so far is early game battle stuff, so I'm sure it gets more interactive when you unlock more mechanics. I just hope that more mechanics doesn't equal explosive diarrhea UI like past games.

I see a boring generic design character #10 with a boob window. It's not all about "milker tape" that makes a design interesting. I always go back to Shanoa for an example of design that's better than the game she's in.

There's sort of a visual story told by her design. It's got sexy elements without being too over the top. It's visually interesting and unique.

The XB3 characters thus far all look like they do their shopping at Old Navy. Maybe it makes sense in the world they live in, but if so, that world is boring. They're in an anime inspired videogame. They could have any sort of visual style and we've gone with the most mundane one. I still think that the characters have a "World Trigger" design, which despite being a decent show for other reasons was absolutely a snoozer visually.

Opinions on xenoblade 2s character design will always be controversial. All ill say is I think it was a mistake to have so many different artists involved. There were some of them I loved, but it lacked a consistent theme, notably among the blades. 3s designs, for better or worse, seem much more consistent. I'm personally fine with them, but I can see the criticism on them being a bit bland. I'm hoping it'll be more like xenoblade 1 where their appearance changes with armor, but I kinda doubt it.

man people focus too much on that, gameplay, story, and music were on point

game was a blast

I still think Pyra and Mythra are way better or hell let's go with Nia. Just she's the first female design I actually like from the game.

I don't think there's a point to restraining saitom.

They all sound horrible to me, my mother language is not english so it will always sound horrible to me.

I literally keep confirming if an anime game comes with japanese voices as well before even thinking on buying it, I'd be ok if it's a free (or even paid) DLC, just don't leave alone with english voices... If they're spanish, not perfect but at least playable lol.

The good think is that Xenoblade games always have the option :D
