I saw a review of this game by Happy Console Gamer today, and it looked pretty good. My reservation is about the combat and all the options attached to it. It looks rather daunting and complicated. I'm not experienced with JRPGs. HCG said "there's a lot to learn," but he also said that once you get it down, it's pretty basic. Did you find that to be the case?
I also heard that combat can be "challenging" for people who are new to this system. I know there is a casual mode, so that may help.
Anyhow, I'm just wondering whether I might enjoy this game. I've played plenty of WRPGs but not many JRPGs. I liked Lost Odyssey on Xbox, many years ago, and a couple of others. I've tried FF several times and Persona 5 without success. What appealed to me about this game -- from what I saw, anyhow -- was the storyline, the scope of the game, the environments, and its reputation as one of the better JRPGs of the past decade.
Any thoughts are welcome.
