OMG in heaven it's here, and my launch Wii can apparently still play dual-layered discs. Happiness!
For quest 3, you apparently need 3 star affinity inExterminieren said:I've done Mystery of Makna Ruins 2, and talked to Lupa. She hasn't given me any other quest.
Can you give more information about that end of game quest? As far as I know,Indyana said:End of game quest:
I need to know where's the Giants' Knowledge or something similar.

I'm wondering because early in the game, (sub 3 hour mark), whenthe helpful tutorial popup tells you that you can only defeat those baddies by doing an attack that inflicts "break" and then an attack, which would be done by Reyn to inflict "topple." You can get by by just doing the break attack yourself and then waiting until Reyn does his attack that does topple, but I swear the tutorial suggests that you should have more control over the process than that. Maybe I misread it or maybe there was a mistake in the localization. I don't have a save at the spot so I can't go back and check.the mechons invade the colony
This confused me for a bit and I actually got up and carefully looked over the manual, because if this feature exists and I haven't been using it that would be a pretty big oversight!
The game explains it that way because you can control either character by switching them outside battle (obviously). But the AI is usually pretty good about toppling a broken opponent as long as the Art is available to do it, so you don't really need much control there.Tiktaalik said:Sanity check: There's no way to switch your controllable character in battle right?

After clearing theAveyn Knight said:Can you give more information about that end of game quest? Early Wiis had cheap lasers that could easily get dirty and stop reading dual layer discs. Was a big deal around the time Brawl came out since it was the first dual layer Wii game. Some could be fixed with a cleaning kit, others had to be sent in.ivysaur12 said:What's wrong with launch Wiis?

Doesn't seem like a widespread issue though.
Yeah, particularly the story mode since I think that's what is on the second layer (or the FMVs at least).ivysaur12 said:So, if my Wii can play Brawl, I'm fine?

Okay, then the information I was posted was kind of relevant for your needs.Indyana said:End of game quest spoilers.
After clearing thenew quests appear. In theMechonis Corethere's a quest about theValak Mountain. And you need three things. I don't have theGiant's Treasureor something similar.Giants' knowledge
Are you playing with the Wii remote? You need to first hold the C button on the nunchuck. Then you can move the camera with (I think) the D pad (if I got it wrong, there are button prompts on screen to help you anyway).Champomade said:Guys,

Right analogue stick on the Classic controller. I don't think you can with Wiimote + Nunchuck though.
EDIT: C + Analogue, says so in the manual.

Does the Manado only transform once?

How did I manage it? No sleep. Oh yes. I slept for an hour the night before last, woke up at 1am, and played until 10am when I finished it. Not the first night like that, but alas its the only time I get to use the TV here
now...for rest.
RPGCrazied said:Well, right now, no job. And no other half, so I have plenty of free time. Its nice to sit and play Xenoblade all day. Which I've been doing.

About leveling up (arts/talents etc). Any suggestions?
KarmaCow said:Get level up Shulk's Heal and pretty much whatever you use.
There's no real healer until you get the fourth character, Shulk's heal is the best you'll getAnabuhabkuss said:I guess I should have reworded my question:
Are there ideal roles to assign each character? So Reyn as Aggro, Shulk as attack and Fiora as healer or something...
Yes, different characters definitely have their own strengths due to stat growth and arts. Plus their arts will give you an idea of what their strengths are and what their role should be in battle. Reyn gets a lot of arts that build and keep aggro and has very high defense and hitpoints, so that makes him a good tank, for example. It's pretty obvious who is good at what as you work your way through the game.Anabuhabkuss said:I guess I should have reworded my question:

Yeah, that's a great song, wish it was used more than once. I liked that particular scene though.HiddenAway said:Help! I decided to have a look around the official UK website for the game and I noticed the sound samples near the bottom of the page. The first 2 I can figure out where they're from but I can't remember hearing sample 3 anywhere in the game and I've finished it .
Anyone know where it comes from because it's going to bug me now!
http://www.nintendo.co.uk/NOE/en_GB/games/wii/xenoblade_chronicles_32583.html
Edit: Never mind. It's "Unfinished Battle" and only used (presumably) in a scene about a quarter of the way into the game.
A shame really, because it's great to listen to...
The ideal role for each character is somewhat obvious from how the AI plays them. Look up the tutorial section for each character, too. They'll explain their strengths and weaknesses. For those three, Shulk is the allrounder, he does okay damage, and has a heal. Reyn is the tank, he can take a lot and he draws aggro. Fiora is DPS, a rogue, basically. Let Reyn grab aggro, maneuver Shulk for a backslash and let Fiora do what she does.Anabuhabkuss said:I guess I should have reworded my question:

I have just triggered the scene where the Mechon attack, and obviously all my quests went away. Will I be able to complete these later, or should I reload and finish all those quests first?
Thanks!
