OK what you've mentioned has never really bothered me, but I respect your opinion.
IMO it's a good thing that some things stay the same while adding new ideas etc that way it feels familiar while staying fresh.
I hope you give the full game a chance when it comes out eventually, there's a lot more to the game than the demo shows, I personally can't wait.![]()
Unfortunately I don't see the rgg games have the same production values as say an typical rpg made by Bethesda or Bioware, just simply due to the sales.
I know there's plenty more, just like 3 and 4 (although I never finished that one). It's just gotten to the point that this style of gameplay is getting kind of tired for me. It really feels like it's barely evolved since the series debuted. It looks like they finally truly got rid of load times entering battle in this game, but it still takes a while to exit battle. The animations are still pretty bad and the lack of any kind of physics is sad.
I hope that someday they can make a truly seamless and more open world with better animations, actual physics, more ambient voice work and just higher production values in general. I know most people come to these games for the story, but I feel like they could be so much more if the gameplay were great, too. I remember being impressed by the first game when I bought it the Christmas of 2005. It just feels like it hasn't changed much at all since then.
...oh goddammit Parakeetman
i mean thanks man, but now i want both!
damn. and how'd you come by them again? i never see those on ebay, just the steelbooks and more generic promos. one of 4 like you described, or that 5 one you got, id frame those!
BuyGame2 (which, despite the name, seems to be a legitimate site) sells the posters featuring the Japanese box arts of Yakuza 4 and Dead Souls.damn. and how'd you come by them again? i never see those on ebay, just the steelbooks and more generic promos. one of 4 like you described, or that 5 one you got, id frame those!

Yeah, I guess my expectations just went up after I saw what the team did with Binary Domain. I mean, after I played the demo of RGG: of The End, I expected Binary Domain was going to be pure shit, but they really impressed me with that game. It really felt like they upped their game and finally entered the generation with a modern-feeling game (subjective term, I know).
Have you played Sleeping Dogs? It's basically Yakuza meets Grand Theft Auto.
I have. I thought it was pretty great. I really hope RGG Team takes a look at it.
I don't want RGG to be a game where you steal cars and race around the city, or even a game where you can straight up murder civilians as you please, but I think they could learn a lot from Sleeping Dogs when it comes to making a very open city, but still keeping it extremely detailed and also allowing for cool melee-based combat to occur seamlessly.
It really bothers me that Kiryu has pretty much looked the same since 3.
The man should at least have a few gray hairs.
Not that much time has past since 3, and maybe he dyes his hair.It really bothers me that Kiryu has pretty much looked the same since 3.

Maybe the like Sleeping Dogs developers got some inspiration from the Yakuza games. (the finishing moves etc)
It would be great if they could team up and make a unique game. (which is doubtful because of Square-Enix)
I've already talked at work with my friend about how they need a crossover where Wei Shen is dating Haruka
Kiryu would kill him with his stare alone.
Personally I was disappointed in very few moves Shen had.
I've already talked at work with my friend about how they need a crossover where Wei Shen is dating Haruka
And Kiryu doesn't approve, then Kiryu Kazuma vs Wei Shen fight!
(although I think it will be one of those fight's where Shen will lose no matter what haha)
He broke their fucking leg. What more do you want? Also, Wei's moves have WAY more weight to them than the combat in Yakuza which is something I would hope they fixed here, but it just seems typical Yakuza combat. The noise it makes when Wei connects a move feels good every.single.time. And the running grapple/kick Wei does is more useful than just about every move in Yakuza except for tiger drop.
I'm still in love with this demo for completely different reasons though, and I will try to black it out of my brain until/if it gets a NA release date.
Please, if Saejima can go toe to toe with Kiryu, mah boy Wei can. Anyways, they'd realize they have a common enemy and team up for a multilingual escapade in Bangkok.
...You platinumed Yakuza 4? Yakuza 4 has my highest trophy completion of any game, but that's still, like, 40%.so basically more like 4 than 3? might as well hand me that plat now, nagoshis

What about:
リザルトのコンプリートトータルが100%になった
Result completion percentage 100%.
Thats minigame master from Y3, haruka SSS from Y1 (provided its in here) in one.

Man, Kiryu is just fucking brutal on this one. The heat action on those little platforms where he snaps their spine with their ass. Then there's another one where he grabs their face and drags it along the pavement.
Awesome.
Yeah, but Kiryu's supposed to be a recovered guy who doesn't want to spend his whole life fighting.
Then he proceeds to brutalize random punks on the street. It's stuff that Majima would do, not Kiryu. It's kind of like Nathan Drake going on his murder sprees.
Kiryu isn't the one initiating the fights. Those random punks are. He just finishes it.
They're in Japanese, but Sega just posted digest movies for each Yakuza

Those punks just want his money. I highly doubt any of them would decide to suplex him onto a guard rail if they had the chance.
The bully of Dojima is more like it.

Oh my. Can't wait to see Kiryu driving around town in that.
Edit:

Er, just how is that gonna work?

I'll put this in spoilers since it's a character returning that hadn't previously been confirmed

Go to a cabakura, get a voucher with a psn code on it, register the code on psn and then trophy earned.
