I wish they'd come up with a Kiwami 2 (or whatever they call it) soon because I don't want to go back to ps2 and now I want to play them all ;(
As I've mentioned before, if we are getting a new Yakuza announcement this year its most likely going to be around September when the Tokyo Game Show happens, that is the normal time when Sega show off a new Yakuza game. I'd also point out that from what Sega have indicated, it certainly sounds like they may well be working on a new game in the series over a remake of 2 (though I don't completely trust those comments). I just wouldn't get your hopes up for a remake this year (or next year for that matter).
Yeah I guess that even if it was announced today we wouldn't get it here before a very long time. It'll be hard to resist and not buy Yakuza 6 in the meantime. Maybe I'll just go straight to 3.
Play through Yakuza: Kiwami and it'll be become clear as day.Can someone explain what prompts Majima to adopt the "Mad Dog" persona? I rewatched the ending with Sagawa but it still doesn't make much sense to me.

Yakuza 0 is probably Majima at his "sanest".

If they did remake Yakuza 2 then it would be the Game Of The Decade.
Did you finish that questline?Majima is probably my favorite game character this year by far. The girl who keeps calling him daddy and begging for dolls is the worse.
Did you finish that questline?
Cause shit gets intense.
What was the general opinion of Kiwami when it released in Japan? Did it come out before 0 there?
Really like the property management stuff in 0, did they add anything like it in Kiwami?

hey i have a question for Yakuza 5 players,
how do i get the High-Grade Cigarettes to work in the game to recover health? i equipped it and standing still but no health regenerates. i tried it in battle mode but i'm not sure if it's working.
I don't remember that item. Your character starts smoking when standing still? How about press down in battle?
here's the item in question: it goes in one of the accessories slot for Saejima:I don't remember the item either, doesn't really sound that useful to be honest, especially with health drinks being in abundance in the game I'd just take the lazy way out and use those!
I finally fucking finished Yakuza fucking 1, bitch.
Yakuza 0 really put in work to make me feel really awful and depressed about the whole Nishiki and Kiryu situation.I wanted to go back to the days when they were bros singing karaoke and dancing. ;( I doubt I would have cared as much if I hadn't played 0 because they don't elaborate on their relationship at all. Pity that Nishiki died as a shitbag. He was one of my favorite characters in 0. I thought he would redeem himself a bit by killing Jingu, but then he just blows the place up out of spite.
As for Majima, I had a difficult time getting used him. He is completely different. It was odd seeing this unhinged Majima when I spent 99% of the time in 0 seeing him as a pretty calm guy.
I look forward to playing Kiwami to see all the changes that are made. Especially, Majima's increased role since he was barely in 1. For now, on to Yakuza 2.
I finished Yakuza 5.
Overall the story doesn't make any bloody sense and it feels like it was built just for the purpose of include swerve after swerve for the sake of it.
But the ending was beautiful. I'm excited for 0 and 6.
btw, does the protagonists from 5 have any kind of role on 6?

I tried it myself and it didn't work for me either. I guess it's just a meaningless description.
thanks for confirming, i loaded up on drinks in the pic as you guys suggested =)
No problem. It's good to be back to Sapporo where snow falls. We haven't seen any weather effects after 5...right?
Rain in the first chapter of Yakuza Kiwami and that's it I believe?
Isn't it just a movie part of the very beginning of the game?
I could swear it was actually raining in that first part - Shinji had an umbrella and when you fought the loan shark in Theatre Square it was raining (or just stopped, I remember rain soaked streets of Kamuracho). I might be slightly mis remembering that bit though.
Well, you are correct. It's raining

Huzzah, my memory doesn't suck! To be fair it rains so infrequently in the series that I somehow remember it... I remember it raining briefly in 2 and 4 in the beginning. Pity that 6 didn't have any rain (that I remember), Kamuracho would have looked beautiful in the rain with the new engine.
That rainy Kamuracho when you are playing as Akiyama in Yakuza 4... Man, the good memories of that game.

Yeah, you can say that.
If I remember correctly, 4 is the only game you can choose the weather in the premium adventure. All the entries should have that option.
That substory was the moment I knew that game (and the series) was something special.Yakuza 2 is a huge step up from 1. Wow. The cutscenes are engrossing and the combat feels so much better.
Laughed my ass off when I encountered the side missionwith the yakuza boss into infantilism. I was not expecting that at all. Kiryu being stoic throughout the whole scene of big yakuza dudes rolling on the floor in diapers made it funnier.

Yakuza 1's combat is decent, but it becomes incredibly difficult to go back to it once you've played through the "improved" versions in future games.
Yep, that was my epiphany too. So many substory characters build up over the series. That substory was the moment I knew that game (and the series) was something special.
