Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom | New Trailer - Amiibo and Collector's Edition announced

Still 3 months to go until launch. Not sure about the panic from some I'm reading.

I can see this getting a dedicated Direct/Treehouse before launch.
Also, this is Nintendo. They're gonna want to keep things under wraps.

Still think they're gonna launch new hardware along side this game.

They need to delay this until they have new hardware. Looks not even slightly better than BOTW.

Unacceptable at this point.

BOTW is one of my favourite games of all time but this was, once again, underwhelming.
But I have to admit playable Zelda and the vehicles are a cool addition. Imo it looks more like a big DLC instead of a proper sequel so far.

Trailer didn't do much for me. I want more substance, are there temples? What are the new 'runes'/gameplay mechanics?

Feels like they're still holding off on a lot of things. I guess they'll have a dedicated direct for it down the line, but still.

Will be picking up the Collectors Edition though.

This trailer felt like Nintendo is just resting on their laurels...like, they don't think they need to try because people will buy anyway. Which is probably true sadly, but it does very little to get me excited, and I loved BotW. I just don't see anything that's making me think "oh wow! amazing, i must get it!"...not at all. It's boring. Why does it have to be this way? If you're this close to release, show what's interesting about the damn game.

Considering that this game has been in development for 6 years and it only feels like a DLC is disappointing. I don't know, I expected something more. It gives of the same feel as BotW, but I had hoped for something more like the difference between Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.

It might be too early to judge, but it seems like there will not be dungeons.

Disappointed they haven't shown new enemies. They need to make a Zelda direct or have a better trailer.

Zelda saying "Lend me your power" has to mean that she will be playable.

They've shown several new enemies.

While I want to believe, I think what we're seeing is what we're getting. I also thought Splatoon 3 will surprise and do something fresh, and it didn't.

I will dive back into the world, but so far it looks like added shit for shit. I'll wait for the Tree House.

The new gimmick for this game seems to be building vehicles and contraptions by gluing pieces together. BotW encouraged players to tackle puzzles and problems their own way, so this is a logical next step. But Link driving around in an ugly car doesn't fit my view of Zelda at all. I'm also not sure they've addressed the issues the first game had with lackluster dungeons and a mediocre story. Enemy variety is also lacking. I'm not terribly excited at this point.

Perhaps the issue is one of timing. If they had shown this trailer a year ago, there would have been a more natural flow to their promotional material. It seems like they're still hiding stuff a couple months before its release. That's just weird. If they're not hiding anything, and this is really it... Then this game should've released three years ago.

Very underwhelming trailer, it should be as meaty as the Pikmin one… this sequel isn't looking very different from the original. I hope sky islands are actually environments worth exploring and not the new shrines…

Yeah, that trailer was a little underwhelming I suppose, but I guess there isn't much left in the engine to really wow people. BOTW is a really tough act to follow in all fairness. I'm still hopeful that the game will be good, but my only worry after seeing this trailer is that the developers have thrown too much weirdness into the mix.

6 years development time....for BotW DLC?

Either its going to be awesome (because they didn't show a whole lot), or be absolutely uninspired.

In 2023 these graphics just aren't as impressive as they were. The art style is still good but I didn't see much that made me excited or hyped.

When you take 5 years to release a game it needs to absolutely impress...oh well, will be my 2nd $70 game

Hoping they are hiding something amazing re: this game. Something was lost in translation with this trailer, 0 hype generated. This is Nintendo and they've had 6 years, I'd be stunned if it's just what we've seen so far.

This is actually the spiritual sequel to Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts

Almost everything in the trailer was new
Mechanics
Locations
Enemies
Weather

It looks like a completely new game other than a few throwbacks to BOTW

I like the way it looks

Fully agree with you on that. I felt like I was getting flashbacks to Banjo kazooie Nuts & Bolts when I saw that car..

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe it works well. But I'm not interested in building vehicles in a Zelda game.

Game looked like shit in the trailer. I rate the farming tractor.

Nothing in this seems to justify a price hike, will most likely skip it as I dont rate botw that highly anyway. Hopefully we get more info or gameplay shown soon. Skeptical until then.

You mean except for the world being the exact same one again? With some caves and floating islands I guess.

Trailer sucked the big one but I'm still not concerned. They're holding their cards close on this one.

If you looked at the trailer for Majora's Mask you would also think it's DLC of OOT but it was actually a much better game.

I would prefer typical Nintendo gibberish talk than this.

Why would I risk buying this game on an end of life console when in 8 months probably they'll say a Switch 2 is coming?

I guess it's nothing crazy but still far more exciting then all the garbage in the Nintendo Direct. Given how people get hyped easily around here i would find hard to believe this is what disappoints them.

Even though of course it looks similar to BoTW, they didn't show a lot, particularly in the sky. But i think it's pretty obvious they have a lot of suprises in store. The game's been in development for so long, even with Covid, so let's be optimistic, we can afford it.

I did not like that orchestration music jumble. But everything else looked ok.
I was half joking that they needed voice actors and they took me seriously.

if the addition is the "nuts and bolts" vehicle it could be great or terrible based on design..nuts and bolts editor was amazing, but wasted on a game with no direction

Rule one of gaming, always play in the games original language, or don't complain.

Much better than the horrible spanish voice over. And by the looks of it the english one isn't great either.

I wouldn't mind playing this one on japanese, Ganon sounds cool.

well 3 months for this kind of game is nothing, it's basically final qa and start debugging for day one patch

BRB, just gonna learn Japanese in three months.

There's no way to play the game with original VO and English subtitles, is there? Don't think the original had a Japanese language option in the western release?

The trailer seemed....fine.
Completely inferior to the main BOTW trailer that brought Tears to many an eye.

Still not sure if this game is just gonna be BOTW 1.5 (more of the same with some new mechanics) or a true innovation and Revelation....cautiously optimistic.

I haven't watched a game or movie trailer before seeing / playing it in like...15 years. I don't know why you guys do this to yourselves.

Go in FRESH!
