Aaaaah, this is the type of stuff I was hoping for. Seeing something cool in the distance and then setting out for it. I imagine the NX may even be better for this type of spotting.

It shows up a few times. I caught a screencap of it at 6:09. It almost looks like it has a spindly leg like a guardian.
EDIT: After watching it a couple more times, it looks like it might be a giant insect or arachnid.

Im surprised Nintendo isn't putting out this E3 demo almost like a ground zero.
It would sell a ton and fill the huge gap they have in releases.
Since you're the most knowledgeable one here. Do you think this Link is a reincarnation or an old Link coming back?
The thought of this actually being the case crossed my mind during the showing yesterday. With Nintendo going into the mobile space, NX potentially struggling to find it's market (can't assume too much I know, but it's not implausible all things considered), and Zelda games like this seeming to take ~4 years to make lately, it just seems scarily possible. We might not see many more full Zelda experiences.swan song

1. A farewell or final appearance, action, or work.
Let's hope not, but other than that I absolutely agree!
There hasn't been, but Nintendo has a history of taking a design and giving it variations through an adventure. I imagine we're just seeing the base model.I didn't watch all the footage, but has there been any indications the guardians will be different? I hope they're not all just octopus robots and some fly, some burrow underground, etc.

This is amazing.

Same for me. The trailer didn't do much for me, but these videos and the various points listed in the OP really got me interested. Was not impressed at all by the trailer, was disappointed really. After watching some gameplay vids though, wow. Looks like something I want to play right now. Day one.
As far as I've noticed it looks like some may be stationary. I'm not sure if that's because they are different creatures, or because some just happen to be stuck in the ground. I'd love to see a flying one, though - but I'd also be terrified.
The combat is still disappointing but I guess the intention is to streamline but also create variety.

I think its a past link but maybe from a game thats not existed yet. Which the story will handle.
I don't have enough info to say, but I think the most interesting idea would be for this to be the same Link from OoT after he fell in battle with Ganon. He's been recovering in a sheikah healing chamber for 100 years and seems to have amnesia. It's just strange that this Link has been kept in stasis for 100 years while Ganon attacked the kingdom.

Its on the left side of the mountain. You can see it 5 seconds in till 30 seconds. It seems to slowly crawl down the mountain. Damn I wanna know what that is!!
Thats the kind of mystery I wanted in this Zelda game. SO good!
Yooooo!

Wonder if there´s gonna be multiple endings depending on how much story you unlock/bosses you defeat. \o/

I think, ideally, I would want the Guardians to essentially be Shadow of the Colossus colossi. Basically, each one is just a different gimmick and they all have to be tackled different ways. I want to have to race alongside a fast-moving guardian on my horse until I can leap off and get on top. Or I want to dive on a flying one from a cliffside.
I am starting to make myself sad because I am sure this will not happen.

Holy shit, I don't know how I didn't notice that thing earlier. (watch the first 30 seconds of this video if you want to see it)
That thing is gonna be huuuuuuuuuge
Not really. The Kokiri could have evolved into Koroks in any timeline.
Wind Waker is the least likely timeline for this to take place in because it would have to be between OoT and WW, and that's not likely since we know what happened between those two games. After WW wouldn't make sense because this is old Hyrule and that got completely destroyed and even if the Great Sea receded it wouldn't make sense for the Hylians to leave New Hyrule.
Considering the state of The Temple of Time, it would also have to be before Twilight Princess, and that doesn't make sense either because we know what Ganon was doing between OoT and TP.
The only timeline where this game makes sense is the Fallen Hero timeline. My guess is that this Link is actually the Hero of Time who was defeated by Ganon and was sealed in a chamber to recuperate by the sheikah. Zelda and the sages have been keeping Ganon sealed in Hyrule Castle for the 100 years since Link's defeat.

Okay, I've figured out a few more characters, so here's an update to the Zelda U Hylian alphabet cipher:
Figured out C, K, and M. J, Q, V, and X are the only ones left but I'm pretty sure I know what V is.
watch it be Gohma lol

People will bash it if it has any flaws judging it as it was final version of game. They're already people judging the trailer as it was the whole game so...
I understand your statement, it may have worked with other devs but people are not forgiving at all with Nintendo.
Most terrifying Spider in a Videogame? Wouldn't put it past Nintendo. Still, that thing is Colossi Sized, it's straight up Shadow of the Colossus.
If that's the case then my hypothesis maybe correct that this takes place in the Majora Mask time line sometime after twilight princess.
I thought about this, but I feel like it just doesn't match up. It'd be cool, but seemingly, the Ganon from OoT is imprisoned by the Seven Sages and there's an entire war in there. 100 years is not long enough from really any of the games we've seen to necessitate the vast difference in Hyrule that we've seen.
Honestly, this is the best combat aside from skyward sword 1:1 sword play. The witch time, weapon changes, jumping combat, creativity to use environment with items.. it goes hard
Yes, and it's streamlined but deep with weapon variety, armors, and environmental triggers and items. I could not be happier.
For this to be the GOTG it just needs a good amount of large complex dungeons + fun clever shrines + meaningful NPCs and towns and quests.
Thanks for the summery OP.
Not so sure about the lack of a full story though, however I should get a couple of hundred hours out of this on my WiiU, no need to bother with a NX for a couple of years if at all.
Nintendo plays fast and loose with details. There's not enough time between OoT and TP for the geographical changes that happen between those games but they happened. The Temple of Time apparently likes to fly around and sit itself wherever the hell it feels like.
Just think of it like this: The stories are legends. There is a timeline and in general the progression from game to game makes sense. But details like geography and certain races aren't as concrete. Each legend is told with details missing or added. Locations move around and stuff.
The way Hyrule Historia tells it, Link fell in battle against Ganon and Zelda and the sages were able to seal Ganon in the Sacred Realm. Centuries passed and portals to the Sacred Realm began opening up. People started going through the portals to search for treasure and Ganon built up his forces. War broke out between Ganon's forces spilling out of the portals and the sages of that time managed to seal the portals.
This game could take place during the time when Zelda and the sages sealed Ganon after Link's defeat. Ganon got the complete triforce and made his wish, becoming the Calamity Ganon. Zelda and the sages just have enough power to keep Ganon at bay while Link recuperates in a healing chamber for 100 years. Link wakes up and helps Zelda seal Ganon and the triforce away in the Sacred Realm.
