Zombi - Pure Survival Horror is coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC [ZombiU Port]

I wouldn't say that. This game doesn't seem to be using PBR (Physically Based REndering. The Chromatic Aberration also hides the the games visual flaws. Also, the WiiU version had a lens dirt filter. The lighting was decent at the time of release though.

Shinobi was being funny :D

Love how deep in the barrel they had to go for review scores. This game got slagged at launch and was never given a proper chance. Hope it does well, but it's still kind of bittersweet, because no matter what, the best version won't get a sequel. The gamepad isn't some revolution, but it does kind of ratchet things up for the game, and adds more immersion with the speakers, scanners, inventory and such. I hope they find some way to bring that balance back, at least something like DeadSpace. Hopefully someone can make a mod for DS4s on the PC version.

Any word on improvements? Trailer didn't look like the upgraded the visuals, so I suppose 60FPS?
How about more melee weapons and refined combat? Some time has passend since this came out on WiiU, they could've worked on some of the weaknesses.

The trailer had one new melee weapon and what looked like a different assault rifle, so new weapons are a safe bet. Acting differently from the current ones remains to be seen, though.

Think I will get to check it out at some point. Always looked interesting and good.

Good to know it makes me a moron because I don't agree with you about a video game.

- Gravely voice steroetype white guy bro hero
- Every character is a stereotype
- Horribly obnoxious forced tutorial
- Shallow skill tree progression
- Shallow RPG systems
- Vapid open world design

- Drop in coop
- No real challenge
- Game eventually devolves into shoot/blow shit up fest

Compared to Zombi U, I feel comfortable calling it a bro game. Also my response was in response to someone calling Zombi U "mediocre" as compared to the amazing Dying Light. I disagree.

Bolded are completely subjective. Also, reading the no challenge bit from you shows that you clearly didn't play hard mode especially at night. You say all characters are a stereotype... I'm wondering if you actually played the game at this point.

My reply is just about what you said of Dying Light.

I also disagree, but "bro game" is one of the most insipid labels you can give a game. Nobody describes games as "introvert games" or whatever.

From the ubi-blog:

  • Minimap moved to screen, dissappears when not in use - Preserves minimalist HUD
  • Increased FOV with option to increase/decrease slightly, "but not so much that it takes away that claustrophobic feeling"
  • Two new melee weapons: shovel offers longer range and the ability to hit more than one zombie at a time, while the nail bat gives you more damage and a higher critical-hit chance (while also being able to hit more than one enemy at a time)
  • Flashlight has been updated with new options: switch to a wider, further-reaching beam at the expense of battery life and a greater risk of attracting zombies. It’ll also have to be kept off for 30 seconds to recharge
  • "Rummaging in the backpack still doesn’t pause the game. We’ve added a dedicated button to access the backpack...players won’t be able to see approaching zombies unless they’re coming from the sides of the screen"
  • Only one second-screen-dependent feature will not return: ZombiU’s single-system multiplayer

People. I recommend waiting for reviews for this. Ubisoft track record doesn't favor something like this. Feels like a cash grab to me. Another bullet point to that would be that there's no physical coming.

Was really cool on Wii U, though.

I have faith in Straight Right i'm sure EA didnt give them much support on Mass Effect 3 WiiU and they made a great game with online, also Deus Ex HR DC WiiU is the best version.

They had a lot of time on this, they do a great job, the fact that they added new melee weapons is a good touch, they did the same for Mass Effect added a new weapon

It honestly sounds good to me.

Will be interesting to see what changes have been made.

I really enjoyed my playthrough on the WiiU, and have been planning to play it again soon. Might double dip if they've made enough changes, otherwise I was more than happy to play the WiiU again.

It's fairly cheap on the e-shop now (£8 last time I checked) so if there are no significant improvements on PC/PS4/XBO then I'd still recommend people to get it on WiiU first.

EDIT: The multiplayer was really good fun with the right friends, so knowing that's been cut I definitely wouldn't recommend the new version over the WiiU one.

Polygon article has screens. It looks....ok. Will definitely mod on PC!!

Looks great. A bit dated and you'd never forget its origins but overall nice. Even the CA, which I normally hate, seems alright here.

I am glad they giving this game another chance. Is really great (though maybe not at full price). I didn't really see any improvement though, look about the same as the Wii U version. If is digital and price at 19.99 I can understand the lack of apperent improvement though.

I really had a lot of fun with this game and I bought it at launch, great atmospheric feeling, slower pace (I am not that great at FPS :P) with nice tension. I am in the team the gamepad added fun, but is not so hard to implement stuff without it. You might lose the frantic feeling of having to look down and lose sight of surroundings, but like someone said, you usually prepare in a spot you know you'll never get attack.

I hope they add more random Zombie attacks since they felt scripted (in that once you clear the area you rarely saw a zombie there again). Hopefully it sells enough to get a second one with improvements, better multiplayer (which was pretty nice, but limited) other survivors in the area you have to fight for things, etc, etc.

A sequel for the NX, PS4 and One would be pretty nice :)

If this means the multiplayer, nothing much was lost. I might double dip if a variety of interesting mods get developed on PC.

Oh shit yes PC port too?

I'm so in for the double dip.

I loved Zombi U, game was tense as hell and truly amazing. Easily the best survival horror experience this generation.

When will we see "sis" games

smh

Should you need to play a game mode that was patched in nearly 2 months later to get a good challenge? Not everyone plays or replays games constantly over a huge chunk of time so it's pretty easy to see why people would think the game is easy if your go to answer is to play a mode that wasn't available at launch.

The Wii U version had awful picture quality
soluce-zombiu-ravitai5pjfj.jpg

Especially upscaled to a 1080p TV

I remember it looking much better. Guess the heavy dose of CA and overall dreary art style disguise a lot of that image quality.

Pretty cool to see it in full 1080p running at 60.

FINALLY, melee weapons with a horizontal swing. That alone will improve scores.

The lack of multiplayer isn't a surprise: there's really no good option on those consoles to simulate it without requiring a touchscreen-based peripheral, and the PC version was always going to be a port of those builds.

As I said before, looks exactly like the wiiu version. So the "FUCK YEAH PS4 GRAPHICS" crowd should hold their horses

But I really think everyone should play it. It's AMAZING. Feels like a game from the best days of the ps2 days. A game that you learn to love and soon you start to memorize every part of it.

Im worried that
- improvements may take away what made the game special
I don't know how to explain it, but Zombie on WiiU was almost BROKEN, and that was somehow wonderful

- lack of game pad may hurt the game
I'm sorry, but the game pad was great in this game

Was interested in playing this game but not if it's digital only, especially if it's going to be $60. At $20, would think about it but no chance in hell at $60.

Nice, they're actually putting a bit of effort into this conversion. Any non-Wii U owners who like survival horror games should definitely check this out. I might even double dip.

Didn't realize people actively hated this game. I thought it was a cool intense zombie game. I might get this for PC if the port isn't bad.

I excused the graphics when I played on wii u but I'm not sure if I want to replay it with the same graphics again.
If there's new features I may buy it on sale.

I've been looking forward to this for a while. Hopefully the impending release date and the fact that it's a port will imply that the price is sub-$40. Anything more than that is asking a bit much considering it's almost 3 years old now.

I mean, I liked the game and I wouldn't call it challenging. Once you understand the core systems of the game its fairly easy to do a no death run.

Still a ton of fun. It hits a great balance, where you don't feel frustrated but still consistently tense.

I want 60fps, which means I'll probably have to get it on PC.

Not a fan of Uplay. At least if I got the Steam version, dealing with the Uplay interface won't be so bad (because its then mostly in the background).

Graphics are the same, but the resolution bump alone will go a very long way in making it look nice.

On on pc we can do whatever we want. Can't wait to play it at 144hz.

And no, the gamepad is trash anyway. Aside from the multiplayer stuff, everything can and will work on a normal setup.

"omg you can't see enemies approaching!"; exactly what Dead Space did years before.

And those turret sequences? Thank god the gamepad is gone for good. And I say this as a Wii U owner, who bought the console primarily for this (can't give a damn about Nintendo aside from occasional Mario).
