Zombi U pics + footage

Looks fucking incredible.

I'm going to be buying a new Nintendo console purely for Ubisoft games, not Nintendo ones. I never thought Id say that.

Its absolutely unbelievable.

Oh my bone, this looks awesome. Much better than what the game started out as (Killer Freaks from Space.)

This game could very well carry the initial launch of the Wii U.

Wiimote aiming is MUCH better, but this game is so much slower I don't think it will matter. The precision might not be needed, although that will never take away from the fact that it's inferior as far as aiming goes.
That's a good point, as the style doesn't look like it requires much twitch aiming. But still, it would bring hope for future fps if it supported Wiimote aiming.

Again I would like to mention that this game should be releasing within weeks of the season premiere of The Walking Dead.

Ubisoft marketing would be wise to get in on that.

When I first heard about this game, I rolled my eyes at it, but credit where credit is due. visually it looks very competent and it seems to utilise a lot of pretty interesting ideas. I'm not into zombies at all, but it just placed itself on my radar.

I'd like to see Activisons walking dead FPS do something with the wiiu, if done right, it could be seriously brutal: use the controller to touch the parts of a leg you want to amputate; use the controller to brutalise a guy whos trying to rape your son; use the controller to scan an area.

Seriously.

This could turn out well for them - even just launching at the same time will rack up a fair amount of sales, I bet.

I'd like to see your character's arm shake when you are surprised (of when they become afraid of one possibly being nearby--by sound or environmental queues) by a zombie thereby affecting your shots (not all characters would be as scared as others--another random element to the character). That would be pretty awesome IMO.

Looking good and the improvements show. Should be a fun launch title and Nightmare mode I am sure will be a frustratingly fun time

The more I think about it, the more I realise the character system is fucking awesome - you're given a random person to control, which already adds a sense of realism, providing Ubisoft includes enough variety - and then when you die, you encounter your previous character as a walking corpse like the others... makes it seem like this is one big, overlapping journey of many characters, which is ace.

Yeah...not really.

But since we are talking about the "Revolution" right now, did Nintendo already explain how going back to dual stick shooters is a progress?

EDIT:

LOLZ, just saw the GIF. OK, it's definitly no second red steel fiasko. You won.

Well this is my only complain with the Wii U, and actually the biggest reason i have for avoid this game, I don't want to play shooters with no wiiremote controller option, Wii mote and Keyboard + mouse are the only controller methods I like for shooting games

So one thing I've always wondered with this character system is, what would happen if you just keep dying over and over at the very start right outside your safe house?

Could you have like a hundred zombies of your old characters just waiting out there then?

the only thing im worried about is the intelligence of your enemies. i know, zombies dont tend to be (attention, cheap pun ahead) brainiacs but i have seen some footage where the enemies where sticked to invisible barriers, walls etc.

except that, im hyped. finally a (more or less) shooter where the death of your character matters.

This isnt a wii u exclusive right?

Love to play this game but dont plan on getting a wii u. Sounds like game would be fine without the special controller to me...

Seems like the whole state of the game is persistent. Cool thing I noticed was that when you picked up antibiotics for the mission and then get killed your new mission will be to kill your old char as he will still have the antibiotics with him. Zombies also stay dead and stuff that has been opened, the floor that broke under you, all that stuff carries over.

it's WiiU exclusive

Also, the controller is pretty integral to a lot of the cool ideas which are making the game unique. Not to mention no HUD which does so much for the realism factor

Exclusive. Maybe something else comes down the line, but I expect it to remain exclusive for a long time, if not ever.

The melee fights remind me of Condemned.

Condemned's fighting system was horrible. I hope it's not he case with this game.

Even though the team has multiplatform experience with the recent Tintin title and despite starting out as a 360/PS3 title, it's currently only planned for Wii U.

Holy fuck, just saw the CG trailer again after reading some of the commets here that there was a really nice detail of the survivors in each scene appearing in the next one as the attacking zombie. Its really is! The bus guy in the first scene attacks the mall lady and old man in trenchcoat in the next, those two then attack the man blowing up his head in the office, that man attacks the guy inside the car and falls off the tower bridge, then the guy in the car attacks the one of the queen's guards that appears turning into a zombi after the logo.
Brilliant and it explains so well the concept of the game, and I never notice until people here said.

Also I love the version of God Save the Queen they used.

Yeah, I'm wondering if people are underestimating the extra immersion no HUD might add to gaming experience.

Right? I Havnt really thought about it until now. But whilst watching those videos it felt like it was a cutscene or something and I couldn't put my finger on why - but it's the zero HUD. Excellent.

This game is specifically designed around the WiiU's capabilities, both graphically and with the GamePad. Stop portbegging.

Graphics are looking good. I hope they improve the camera movement though, it just feels like the character is gliding around. Also disappointed at no door opening animation (yet). Both of these improvements would make the survival horror tone significantly better.

Maybe I'm missing something but, what are those flying things in the sky at around 1:25 ?

Good eye. There seems to be more than zombies in this game. In the E3 playthroughs I've seen had that weird spirit like figure go past the screen and when someone asked that dev what that was all about, she kind of brushed off the question and said there's more going on in the story than they were willing to tell at the moment. There's definitely plenty of stuff we don't know yet about this game.

Watch around 4:50 in this video to see what I'm talking about.

It's really eerie. I was just in London for the whole Jubilee thing, which adds another level of creepy onto this game! Also helps me ppreciate how much detail they've gone into.
