Zoonami to be struck off?

Just got an e-mail saying that Zoonami placed a notification of strike-off action in London Gazette (Section 652). So is the company going to be dissolved after the mess up in February? Anyone cares to share some business-related information?

BONSAI BARBER – The hilarious way to getting your 5-a-day!
ZENDOKU – Sudoku Battle Action
GO! PUZZLE – Three Addictive Puzzle Games for PlayStation 3 and PSP

;D

I'm sure everyone who loved their numerous releases over the years will care.

Oh, wait.

Yes they made a glorious sequel to GoldenEye.

Oh wait that's not how it happened. Sorry, Nintendo fans! :D

They did a couple of puzzle games and that cool Bonzai Barber game on WiiWare.

EDIT: how very GameFAQs of me. :o

Sad but unsurprising. Martin Hollis is a pretty rad dude, so if true best of luck to him and the rest of his team in finding work elsewhere.

It took Zoonami six whole years to release their first title, a Sudoku game for handhelds. In the past decade they've put out just three games, two of them for download services.

I'm surprised they managed to stay afloat this long.

I just came in here to say that Bonsai Barber is great. So yeah, I guess I'll be among the 20 or so people who will be sad if something bad happens to Zoonami.

Martin Hollis did a couple of interviews recently, about how he looked at the GoldenEye remake and all that. There wasn't anything in there about projects of its own so I guess this was expected.

Ah well, he can always knock at the door at the Stampers who are apparently still working on games in the old Rare building for the past 3(?) years now.

I would love to know why half of the team went to found Otterly in March.

They couldn't get anyone to publish it.

Oh, the way they were talking it up(in EDGE I believe) I would have thought they would have found somebody, wonder if Hollis will go back to help Nintendo with their new console (he is the same guy who helped them out with the 'Cube right?)

He is but I don't think Nintendo will be in any rush to relive the GC days.

Just wondering, what happened in February?

As already mentioned, half of the team left to found Otterly next door. The Bonsai Barber contest results haven't been updated since then, thus the company might have been in trouble/dead since then. We never got any details but Martin Hollis hasn't talked about Zoonami in his latest interviews.

I remember when that developper was rumored for making some kind of spiritual successor of Goldeneye or Perfect Dark. :lol Was that like 5 or 6 years ago? I forgot.

I hope it's okay for me to think that Otterly's Floe would make a great 3DSWare game. It's got great use of tilt and it's adorable.

3DSWare is a much safer spot than WiiWare, only because it's more portable friendly, and I think Hollis expressed dissatisfaction over Nintendo's lack of WiiWare promotion (as in, I doubt the now ex-Zoonami folks are going to be quick to do more WiiWare games). :(

Hopefully Otterly's not iPhone-exclusive or anything, but I can certainly understand why they're starting out as such; they're already years farther than Zoonami was in comparison at this point. :(

Hi guys,

I just had an e-mail from Martin Hollis. He wrote to me that "The strike-off notice is a result of a bureaucratic error".

So everything is fine in Zoonami :)

Just read about this, good news. Now make something, Zoonami.

It's nice to get a regular paycheck, but these guys should just get a fresh start elsewhere.

Thanks for clearing this up! Though it still leaves the question why half of the team left to form Otterly.
