From what I reminded by the old past leaks Sony practically stopped Days gone 2 and "invite" them to start with a different project.I dont think they can.. apparently the "leaders" of that project are gone .. they have to go with a new ip and by the looks of it the new manegement cant make the right decisions (as for the multiple posts and insights in this thread)
There's no fatigue. He's just arguing bullshit on Sony's behalf to cover their ass, or something, in the same vain as the scene from Naked Gun in front of the exploding building telling onlookers to disperse.Yet they're a staple in every Call of Duty.
New Dying Light was just shown.
ILL is being oogled over.
Onimusha is literally Japanese zombies.
Resident Evil is face fucking gamers every time a new one is announced.
State of Decay 3 is wanted by its fans.
That "fatigue" was an excuse for people being cunts, either ideological or brandtards. The horde gameplay design was fantastic and fresh and would have been insane in a sequel on more capable hardware.
They can. They just have to express the interest in working with them again and get in touch. I believe even Garvin or Ross said themselves they'd be back if they would be "asked to".I dont think they can.. apparently the "leaders" of that project are gone .. they have to go with a new ip and by the looks of it the new manegement cant make the right decisions (as for the multiple posts and insights in this thread)
That moment you realize that you fucked up because of purple hysteria
Maybe that is true. But from what I remember, it was Sony's decision to not release it.Some people here are blaming Sony for this situation. I would like to remind you that it's not Sony that didn't want to make Days Gone 2. It was management of the studio. Also, it's not that Sony made an order for them to make a GaaS game. It's studio management that wanted to hop into Sony's live service bandwagon.
The tweet that shined the light and put the writing on the wall. That moment you realize that you fucked up because of purple hysteria
And all their projects had good quality and have been successful except this cancelled game.bend has given too many chances.
Bluepoint isn't a lead development studio. They are a support team that works for other studios. This will happen to more studios... bluepoint is probably onother that will skip the rest of the gen
Five billion? Why don't you say 800 billions instead? We'll look back on the PS5 generation as the time of the five billion dollar GaaS mistake and that's why there were barely any first party games. The worst part is that Sony has been rewarded for it over the last 5 years.
And sadly for us, no sequel on PS5/Pro/PC hardware for those horde mobs and other new tricks. And all their projects had good quality and have been successful except this cancelled game.
As an example, Days Gone sold more than all their previous games combined. As a result, it got a PC port, a remaster and are working in a movie adaptation.
They're GoneSoon to rebrand as Break Studio.
LoL what ?And all their projects had good quality and have been successful except this cancelled game.

This generation they worked for Japan Studio in Demon's Souls, and after it moved away from remakes and remasters, to work in new games instead. The first one of them was SSM in GoWR, and after it in unknown new game(s) leaded by somebody else. Pretty likely will release a couple games more before this generation ends.
At best, more likely 2029-2030. What a mess that Sony has caused with their "All Hands on GaaS" push.So ... 2028 then?
We're seeing seeing games with PS4 SKU being announced for 2026. So 13 years after its release. And sadly for us, no sequel on PS5/Pro/PC hardware for those horde mobs and other new tricks.
Now they are. 3-4 years ago when this got highlighted, not so much. The thing with Media Molecule, Sony allows them to be a project experimentation studio.
Yet they just remastered it, are still having movie talks, and use Deacon in promos. Somehow, I doubt that FUD being spread.
Let's not skip the retarded timeline and go straight to the ultra alpha retard timelineImagine a not retarded sony timeline where we already playing days gone 2. Im not sure if they gonna survive until their next game in 2030
Good thing, I'll be ready by then. We're seeing seeing games with PS4 SKU being announced for 2026. So 13 years after its release.
13 years after the PS5 release would be 2033. If they started a DG sequel this year, it could be a PS5/PS6 game released being optimistic around 2030. Maybe earlier if it's a shorter game.
Bungie cost $3.6 billion + the $400 million Concord disaster and we're already at $4 billion. They're not being outlandish with the estimate.Five billion? Why don't you say 800 billions instead?
Are you aware that they struggled a lot to come up with something before Days Gone, right? (which had performance issues at release and had a mixed/lukewarm reception). This implies a lack of creative force behind the studio. And all their projects had good quality and have been successful except this cancelled game.
At that point, their previous games could be considered indie games. As an example, Days Gone sold more than all their previous games combined.
As a result of having nothing to release. As a result, it got a PC port,
even Twisted Metal has a TV adaptation.a remaster and are working in a movie adaptation.
I'm genuinely curious, what made the open world in this case "generic" to you?I don't think i've ever seen as mid of a game as Days Gone generate so much unending drama.
The game was the definition of a 7/10. It was not an underrated gem. It was a generic open world game in an already over-saturated genre. It would not surprise me that Bend grew disillusioned being relegated to a support studio for Naughty Dog, who created an infinitely better post-apocalyptic world in The Last of Us. And that game didn't need any sort of "well, um ackshually, snort, the reviewers were wrong" qualifiers attached to its name. Everyone knew it was quality.
Days Gone was also borderline broken on release requiring half a dozen patches to get into an acceptable state. It was a disgrace and since it was ancient history circa 2019, everyone forgets that. As the cherry on top, the histrionics from the director in the years to follow is one of the most embarrassing things i've seen grown men do in this medium to date - and I watched the Konami E3 2010 press conference live for fucks sake.
Sack everyone involved, ban any utterances of the game's name within Sony HQ ever again, and get on with making a new Syphon Filter. Thank you.
Because 5 billion is more accurate than 800 billion?Five billion? Why don't you say 800 billions instead?
Bluepoint never had a game director. The game director of the Demon's Souls remake was from the Japan Studio team.LoL what ?
Demons Souls remake was developed by Bluepoint with support of Japan Studios, they are credited as developers and their name is on the box.
They never had any game director, any creative director, only have under half a dozen designers and never had anybody in GaaS specific task. Because as they and Sony said, they are a support team. They were reportedly developing a GOW gaas game now cancelled.
They are first party teams of PS Studios, just like XDEV or Nixxes. And like them they are not lead dev studios, Nixxes is another support team like Bluepoint, Valkyrie or PS Studios Creative Arts, and XDEV is their team in charge of managing "eXternal DEVelopment":They are part of Sony First party studios and appear on the front of their Sony Studios logo .. different fro x-dev or nixxes for example.
Go fuck yourself, idiotSo you're bullshitting as usual
Lol, so it's the $3.6B from the Bungie acquisition + made up stuff.Because 5 billion is more accurate than 800 billion?
- 3.6 billion for Bungie
- 400 million for Concord
- 1 billion in years of wasted dev costs for Sony Bend, Naughty Dog, Bluepoint, Firesprite, and Haven. 1 billion is generous there, probably closer to 2 billion.
Days Gone is the furthest thing from generic, it set the way forward for all open worlds, which RDR2 started down on that path and GTAVI should top it.I don't think i've ever seen as mid of a game as Days Gone generate so much unending drama.

Burning Money, closing studiosWhat is Sony even doing this gen
Even if you don't believe that Concord cost $400 million, there've still spent > $5 billion on GaaS to date.Lol, so it's the $3.6B from the Bungie acquisition + made up stuff.
Other than the Bungie acquisition:
And to say that the $3.6B to acquire Bungie was a waste is pretty retarded, Destiny 2 keeps being a top 10 top grossing game in PC, and in console must be important too. Plus Concord got crazy numbers on its reveal and amount of people in Discord trying to get in the closed alpha, despite the narrative from the haters pretty likely will perform very well.
- That $400M budget for Concord was fake news, it's impossible. Its budget should have been somewhere around $150-200M
- Bluepoint can't lead any GaaS because they are a support studio and never had anybody for the job positions releated to GaaS or to lead AAA games
- Firesprite's Twisted Metal wasn't greenlighted, didn't enter production
- Sony Bend supposedly spent almost 4 years in the supposedly cancelled new IP
- ND spent 4 years in the cancelled TLOU Online
still one of my favorite websites:If I worked at Sony I'd ask for a transfer to Media Molecule. They're invincible.
The kitchen at the Molecule is an open, accepting, fluid place. We cook, we chat, and we socialise. We play ping-pong, we look out for each other, and we welcome friends, family, and visitors. We play music, we eat A LOT of cake, and we raise a glass. All this knits and binds us together.
The remaster came due to them screwing up. They needed to recoup some costs of cancellation they knew was coming for the Gaas trash.Should've made Days Gone 2 but nope, remaster a game that doesn't need it. Good job
And a good studio got fucked unfortunatelyThe remaster came due to them screwing up. They needed to recoup some costs of cancellation they knew was coming for the Gaas trash.
I agree with you, but I also think that Days Gone is a fun game. Not a masterpiece, but a fun game that could evolve in a sequel.I don't think i've ever seen as mid of a game as Days Gone generate so much unending drama.

They voted for this and cheered around their "studio culture."And a good studio got fucked unfortunately
