They aren't going to announce anything major and have already said they are just focusing on the stuff coming out this spring (Which is stuff already been announced). Naturally they would save any big guns that they have for E3 2014 (if they even bother showing up this year)

They may be starved of games, but they will always have their hopes and dreams which are only one Nintendo Direct away!

You do know that most of these hype posts are satire and most of us are prepared for some form of disappointment right? It's all in good fun man, lighten up.

The way these usually seem to go:
1: Updates on games we know about.
2: one surprise game
3: one vc or digital title 'available as soon as this presentation finishes'.

Having said that, wasn't the Direct around this time last year the one with all the megatons?

They have upcoming games, they need to raise exposure and awareness, so it's reasonable to expect few if any surprises. I expect something new, but that and any other surprises will be extras along the way.

-dkc trailer, explanation (it's a week away), maybe special digital promotion in the us and europe
-mk8 trailer and details of its release, including a special edition or whatever they're going to do to try and maximize sales
-steel diver releasing on wii u eshop after the direct
-bayonetta 2 trailer for wii u. announced for 360, ps3, and vita at a later date.
-a look at upcoming eshop games, highlighting games like shovel knight
-luigi's mansion 2 hd redone slightly so you can play each mansion without stopping
-first look at nfc games

-dqvii announced for later spring
-smt iv announced for europe
-reel of upcoming eshop games
-mario golf shown off
-majora's mask 3d shown off, and people asked to please wait for the wii u zelda at e3

ends with an extended trailer of x, finally with a full name and release date

Nintendo really needs to do more than this. The Nintendo Directs, although sometimes worthwhile, only really cater to those that have "bought in".

They do nothing to persuade more people and gamers to buy their consoles and games, which is what they desperately need right now.
