Nintendo Direct Feb 13, 2014 Thread | 3DS/Wii U Spring games

All that hype...I can't help but laugh. That Direct was awful. I did not watch the B2 footage because I closed it out right before the end.

I'm guessing Sean is the black kid with white braids, sleeveless hoodie, and gold chain.

Upon first impression, I don't like.

Rest of the game looks like Bayonetta, which is good.

Nothing surprising.
I'm already excited for Bayo 2 and X so new things regarding those games do nothing for me, I think Little Mac on Smash was the "biggest" announcement today. Step your game up Nintendo.

That direct did nothing for me. No SMTIV = auto-fail. X doesn't look to be my cup of tea. Bayonetta is ridiculous (in a good way) as always and Mario Kart continues to look good. Simply nothing exciting was announced.

Iwata can choke on a dick for making the 3DS region locked. How long has it been since SMT IV was announced for Europe and no word on it again? This shit is just frustrating.

I've been waiting for SMT IV to be released before I could get a 3DS, but I guess I'll just import a NA model now.

Ok, I think I'm moving on. I've assumed SMTIV won't be released in Europe. Now I have to think if I sell my 3DS right away or if I keep it a little longer because there's nothing announced I'm interested in.

It's as I predicted. a Nintendo Direct that's Wii U AND 3DS will be 95% 3DS stuff. Only New software shown was NES Remix 2. Sure I enjoyed the Little Mac and the X Footage, but there was still nothing really for Wii U, outside of Mario Kart, no real dates either.
I came in underhyped and expecting disappointment, and Nintendo proved me sadly correct.

As a Wii U owner.... That was horrible. Just stop Nintendo, these stupid directs are just making everything worse.

I mean X looks ok (I really hated the constant chatter during the battle) and Bayonetta looks like Bayonetta(ie. good), but honestly, new trailers don't require fucking Nintendo directs.

Still no Bayonetta 2 release date. This pleased my personal expectations from earlier in the thread! Go for July Nintendo, that'd be good for me. Maybe with a price-drop behind it too.

X looks alright! Pretty mashy, but, hey. Worth a spin when I finally get this console for glorious Bayo 2(& Shitty Friends :/)

Did you know this already or did you get spoiled too? I don't even care at this point anymore. I was spoiled about Robb too when I was checking on the GOT wiki.

Ugh I got spoiled about Robb by someone just randomly saying "YOU DON'T READ THE BOOKS WELL *EVERY DEATH* TAKE THAT" on some random joke GoT image.

That was so bad.

I can't believe I hyped myself up for this.

Never again GAF.

It was awful.

The 3DS has literally no games after this spring. Like nothing. Absolutely nothing.

The only thing I liked was X and that was like 30 seconds of gameplay. Bayonetta 2 looks so much different from the original.. I don't think it is even M-rated.

You're joking right?

I don't even know why I bother with these Directs anymore. MK8 looks awesome, as it did when they first unveiled it. I'm sure Smash Bros. will be fine too. Wondering if there will be anymore first party titles announced for the Wii U in the next year.

Bayonetta looks excellent, no surprise there. Unfortunately I am still not going to buy a Wii U right now. The Direct showed a lot and was pretty decent, but nothing that will change many minds of the mainstream.

On my personal note, I want Next Level's 3DS project revealed ASAP though, they're one of the most talented devs Nintendo works with so they need a bigger push.

So not much at all when it comes to Wii U retail games in the first half of this year. Terrible.

considering how packed March and April are for other consoles, perhaps its best if Nintendo just avoids those two months altogether for retail releases.

It was a good direct. Lots of good 3DS stuff (I'm super stoked about that Guild 01 game and I don't know why), some good Wii U stuff ('X' looks like..Xenoblade HD, Bayonetta 2 looks awesome), And outside of those two games, they didn't stray from 'Spring', just like they said.

So where is Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright? We have to experience a delay just because they chose to release Azran Legacy this month...:(

I saw some things I liked, including GBA VC and Little Mac being announced when so many people wanted him is cool.

Goddammit Nintendo, I keep supporting you...why? Show new shit for fucks' sake. The only exciting new thing was NES Remix 2 and that's a cheap cash-in on the success of the first. WiiU is absolutely, irrevokably doomed at this rate, tease something new, not the same games we all know are coming.

Every new game revealed was a spring title, and that's what everyone should have expected. That being said, I wouldn't expect that many new Wii U game announcements.

Hmm, nothing to look forward to on my 3DS and no reason to buy a Wii U until May (or later).

What I'm most curious about is why the Koopa Kids were shoehorned into Mario Kart. Something weird and Koopa-ey is coming this holiday 2014, I CAN FEEL IT.

The only thing that excited me was the NES Remix 2 announcement. Everything else was meh.

Feels like almost everything they showed for Wii U they couldn't even put a date on other than 2014. Slooooooooooooooow.

Wait so nothing really new was announced for Wii U at all??? I mean unless you count the dumb GBA VC announcement.

I was really expecting a huge announcement of new games coming for the Wii U. Bayo2 and X were announced so long ago, showing a couple of videos doesn't do anything for me.

The only big news is that AA6 is coming and will have Shu Takumi at the helm again.

Wow... Wii U really is dead. Seriously regretting my purchase now.

That was kinda meh, to be honest. I mean, X is still awesome, but even the little gameplay they showed wasn't really hype-inducing. Little Mac is cool, but I still have to be sold on Smash Bros., so that's a moot point for now.

I dunno, after all the hype yesterday I was kinda expecting some megatons :/

Any reveal of a new Smash Bros character leaves me happy. I guess I'm just easy to please.

I'll definitely try out Nintendo's World of Submarines when I get home.

The X gameplay shown is not terribly exciting as it looks like it's just showing a typical overworld encounter. But it does show off how seamlessly it switches from on-foot to in the mech. Though I wonder why you would ever fight on foot, especially against that larger enemy at the end.

The only thing I bemoan is there is still no info on whatever the hell SMT x Fire Emblem is. At least let us know this thing is still alive, please?

So where is Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright? We have to experience a delay just because they chose to release Azran Legacy this month...:(

Everything else was good though!

Definitely not blown away but content. Little Mac, X and Bayonetta 2 were good.

Most of all the X footage confirmed a very exciting gameplay feature which is seamless mech combat. I can hammer on a small enemy with a giant mech or hack at the feet of a small one. This is by far the coolest part of any upcoming hame for me.

I understand Nintendo doesn't have a lot to announce. They have to have stuff for other Directs and most of all E3. Remember last year when because of the January Direct the only new thing they had was Tropical Freeze I'm sure Nintendo wants to avoid that again.

Pretty good Direct, a great promise of making the 3DS the platform of the year two years in a row, the Recettear-like game looked pretty good.

Sadly, it shows that their resources are being shifted away from the WiiU.

Disappointing.

Loved the Bayonetta 2 trailer, but damn, I wish they could have given us a date. Actually, I'm a little peeved they showed this off for a "Spring Direct" without actually launching in the spring. Nothing for me till the end of the year, from the looks of it. Not even hyped or interested for this "X" game (am I alone with this one?). Some more Wii U games would have been better.

GBA VC... I expect we'll get like one game every two weeks or so. I imagine it's gonna be like the current Virtual Console service. I'd love for them to prove me wrong, but they haven't done much at all with the current service to sway my view of it.
