Titanfall Beta (PC/Xbone) Impressions (No Key Begging/Trading or I will ban you!)

YEEEEESSSSSSSSS, I'm so glad you can do this!

Every time I watched the trailers and saw the Titan just throw the Pilot away, I was like "Why doesn't he just crush him!?".

Yes.

I know! I was like "why the hell is he just tossing him to the side?! he has a jetpack and could survive!" I hope there is also the option to spike a grabbed pilot into the ground like a football.

It does work for me on Titanfall... I add the desktop shortcut, and run it so that Origin has to start and then it initiates the game right away. Same for BF3.

BF4 beta certainly never worked. Don't have the full game, so don't know about that.

This is my first Origin game. Didn't know you can have that sort of inception level shit going on. I think I'll do that though, thanks for the heads up.

Game is pretty un-optimized on Max Low 1080p Settings
Gpu related problems mostly.

My Setup is a
i5-3570k
Gtx 560 TI

Seems to fluctuate between 40-60 frames and that's on max low....

well after 5 matches this is really fun. considering buying it now. love the fast pace of it. not a fan of piloting a titan, yet, though. i much prefer staying on foot and keeping hard points secured.

Holy shit. Doing a Titan rodeo, then getting off as the eject sending you both into the sky to have a shootout is insane.

Also just got my first titan drop kill.

so. im in! Unfortunatly I'm at home and this box only has a 8600gt... but it still seems fun even at 15fps... I have a 560ti on me that i could bang in it, but the power supply is some unbranded thing. I wanna get back to uni and play this on my r9-290 :(

I have a GTX 570, a i5 2500K CPU and 16 GB of RAM and it has a fluctuating framerate even on more modest settings :/ Expected 60 FPS because while most of it looks fine, it isn't exactly mindblowing

Aye I have a similar rig to you in terms of performance. I get 40-60 FPS. Not impressed really; this looks like a 2002 game.

Is there any word on an NVidia driver to improve performance, or do we know if Respawn is doing any extra optimisation?.

The more I play the game the more I like it, however it really doesn't perform as well as it should compared to how it looks (its by no means as bad as some are trying to make out, but its far from cutting edge).

Running at stable 60fps here, maxed out at 1680x1050

ATI Radeon HD 7870, AMD Phenom II X4 B60 @ 3.5Ghz, 8GB DDR3 RAM.

My friend's playing on his laptop with an ATI Radeon HD 7670m and an i5 with above 40fps at all times, even hitting 60fps occasionally.

FPS really isn't the problem. It's the shitty tearing. It's worse than GT5's while racing in the rain.

Something to keep in mind: One full magazine of the shotty does about 3/4 of a Titan's health while rodeoing which is a ton more than what the carbine does.

Put three matches into the PC version (for reference i7 3770, R9-290x, so you can imagine it runs well) and... eh... I'll put in some more playtime after work, but I'm not terribly impressed. Fighting in your Titan should be the cool part, but in all honesty, you're better off letting it just follow you as you go an kill things yourself. And its pretty clear that the bots exist because without them you'd be running around largely empty maps just being bored.

Gameplay fast cod like, titans die pretty quickly, not sure how new or lasting it is. Graphics on xboxone are a hot mess, low textures bad jaggies and again the horrible horrible scaler making it all look even worse. Overall its very cod like, i dont think it lives up to the hype but i had fun, takeaway the massive media hype over this and your left with a cod lilke game with bonus mechs for a bit.

- Smart pistol doesn't belong in the game, at least not the PC version.

I don't see the issue with smart pistol really. It doesn't work at all when you're sprinting or aiming down sights, it has a short-to-medium lock range, and it takes ridiculously long to get three locks on a pilot - to the point you would probably kill them faster by using another weapon and just shooting them. After all, if you're getting three locks you're probably to their side or behind them and they're helpless anyway.

It's great for sweeping grunts while you're in motion, but that's about it.

Oh, alright, glad I could help. Yes, the steam overlay works in some crazy ways. Most of the time if you force whatever client there is to run from Steam instead of on its own, the overlay will make it into the game. It used to work on SA-MP too, not sure if it still does.

Might want to put in a few more matches lol...the AI are there as "creep" for you to basically decrease the time for Titan fall. Pretty useful.

It seems like the servers are down, but I got through the training so far at least. It seems pretty fun, but that's hard to say before I get to play a proper match. The only really annoying thing I've noticed so far is that I get insane stuttering in some places. Hopefully that will be fixed for the full release.
