Titanfall boosts Xbox One UK sales by 96%, Tea and Crumpets for all!

PS4 was beating X1 3:1 right?
So PS4 sales >>>>> X1 sales even on the week of Titanfall's release in the UK?
Not good news for X1 IMO.

No that was software. it was actually 1.5.

I doubt I don't think that's still the case but with the supply constraints I don't know.

Certainly the demand is far greater than that.

Is there any precedent for a company breaking an exclusivity contract? None spring to mind. Point is it was a timed exclusive originally and despite PS4 sales EA signed up to make it a full exclusive.
Ninja Gaiden is 360 exclusive. PS3 has Ninja Gaiden Sigma. It's even easier with a multiplayer only shooter to just pack all the content of a previous game into a sequel. EA may be greedy but they're not dumb. They'll get out of MS exclusivity deal as soon as it'll be to their benefit. There are a lot of ways to do this, especially considering that EA doesn't own TF IP.

As the years go by, it becomes more difficult to have a situation where a XKCD does not apply.

So you think they are happy they prob are missing out on more the double the profit and user base, and damaging any chance it had against The big FPS titans coming this year? Not to mention the damage is prob already done with it being associated with the xbox brand ala Final Fantasy sales on xbox.

I'm sure they are fine with it. They established their brand new IP as a competitor with these "big FPS titans". Plus, they pretty much a guaranteed a better success with TF2 for all the dudes that are complaining about it being on another system. Half of these PS4 people will more than likely pick up TF2 if it is released on PS4.

Now had the game come out and been deemed a not very good game (low scores, bad impressions, etc.) then yes, the exclusivity would have hurt the brand in a big way. The fact that people who can't play it are mad that they can't is a good thing for this branding.

No ones mad they cannot play it LMAO, its a good game not the be all end all, there will be better games this year to play.

Can someone explain the thread title? Confusing...

xbox sales were up 96% but ps4 sales also went up 72% the same week (titanfall launch week ... ) thread title is a joke saying lol titanfall caused ps4 sales increase also.

I suppose that's true. I guess I'm just more broadly interested to know what WW sales are like for the month of March.

I am hopeful by the end of march both Sony and MS will update us on WW sales numbers so we can get a feeling as to where everyone sits.

I doubt we will though. Likely one will announce and the other won''t

Is it just me or there is something wrong with the title? it reads like Titanfall also boosted the PS4 by 72%.
English is not my native language so dont kill me.

So will I go through and quote all the people saying the opposite?

I never claimed no one is saying it's a little bump, or that it might not mean anything at all without more context. hell, I'm in that group myself. But please go ahead and quote if you'd like to.

However, what you said is quite different, and I'm gonna quote you again:

I have and all I see is people saying 96% means little.

The 96% doesn't seem to have went to anyones head.

These statements seem rather... selective at best.

Right. Because I said it would be the be all end all game this year.
Project much? But hey, if that's how you feel cool.

You implied ps fans are some how mad or upset? LOL they are too busy enjoying their console knowing sony has a way better first party to churn out games. Infamous this week.

It's not just you, meant as a joke. But the real joke is if someone interprets that it boosted X1 UK sales 72% over PS4 sales, or an even bigger joke if it actually happens.
Of course it won't

You're correct the title is strange. Hopefully the mod will be along to explain why it reads as it does.

Will be interesting to see if Infamous can become the biggest selling launch just after Titanfall, bigger installed base and an established franchise, I'd be surprised if it can't.

Ah, Rainier Wolfcastle... took you long enough to find your way into this thread. I'm amazed at the amount of people who are confused by the title change. Maybe it is, in fact, too good a thread title.

Holy assumption overdrive, batman!

-We don't know if Titanfall sold less, more or exactly as much as EA/Microsoft/Respawn expected.

-We don't know how much Microsoft paid for the deal.

-We don't know how many potential playstation sales would be needed to make up for the ammount saved by EA in marketing due to Microsoft's push.

I think the point is to cut through Microsoft's BS pr speak. Sure, Xbox One sales nearly doubled, but Ps4 also had a big jump percentage wise over the week before. It is saying that Titanfall's bump all things considered isn't that huge, especially without citing an actual sales figure.

Honestly. It's probably for yours and everyone's best interest if you just left him alone.
