Final Trailer for The Amazing Spider-man 2

Even when that movie came out, a ton of people could have simply snapped a quick image of Parker's face on a phone and sold it to the highest bidder. In this crazy age of lawsuit happy easy-way-to-profit people, that scene seems out of the ordinary to me.

I think you're missing the point of the scene if you're not realizing that those people weren't opportunistic assholes and were just kinda grateful for being alive.

Seriously. He's thinking about it in a vacuum for some reason. There's so much context around the situation that makes sense of it all and aside from that, a train full of people thankful to be alive wouldn't have let that person even take a photo in the first place. They would've likely taken his phone and deleted the picture.

Which would've been an extremely boring scene.

What kind of piece of shit would you have to be to snitch on Spider-Man after he saves your life and a train full of others?

Lol.

It always amazes me in these threads just how many people say that Spidey being a smartass isn't integral to the character. The only way you could have that opinion is if your only exposure to Spider-Man was through these movies.

I tend to picture Spidey in that way as well - as a dorky, witty smartass. To be fair, I'm not sure any of the Spider-Man films thus far had found the right balance of character growth and humor. Though I would say that ASM got a lot closer to the fun, humorous Spider-Man than Raimi's films did.

Hopefully this new movie really nails the character, because they've clearly got the movement down.

Unless you know who Spidey is it makes no sense anyway. Hell, there was that one moment in the comics where he gets his ass handed to him by Doc Ock, has his mask removed, and Doc Ock straight up refuses to believe he's Spiderman and puts it down to him dressing up.

TASM has its problems that bug me.. particularly- one of the weakest villains in a CBM to date, but I don't think it was as bad as SM3.

The energy surrounding this film seems a lot more positive, I don't recall anyone being to high on Spider-Man films after SM3. Unless you were referring to the first two.

Some of the negativity you'll find is Internet dwellers making inane comparisons to the Raimi films, making this into some sort of fanboyish thing. Others, just didn't think TASM was a well made movie, and lack confidence in this one.

Besides that, most of the people I know are excited for it. Except those who don't care for Spider-Man.

Nope?

^Oh sweet that crazy sounding Electro song from the trailer. I'm hoping he's a sleeper hit of a villain, I think he has real potential. That scene where Spidey's trying to talk him down is pretty cool.

A song titled "Let Her Go." Hm.

Waitaminute. In a movie where you get spider powered from being bitten by genetically modified spiders and a mind controlling set of robotic arms.... This is what is out of the ordinary?

It's a movie.

Didn't realize that the premiere here is already on April 17! I'll go that day for sure.

Captain America in April
Amazing Spider-Man 2 in May
Guardians of the Galaxy in June

Isn't X-Men also coming out the same month as Spidey?

Yep, that's Zimmer phoning it in alright.

I don't think it's that bad. Hell of a lot better than what we got with the first film at least.

I liked very much the first movie score because it sounded distinctive. I like Zimmer but he needs to find a new Orchestration, his tremmolo strings and loud percusion is getting old, even if he mixes it with dubstep. He can't compose a melody for shit these days. Hopefully the full score sounds ok!

Edit: On a second listening, It's not that bad!

Hmmm I guess I'll have to listen to the first OST again. I can't recall if Spidey even had his own theme. I do agree with you on Zimmer, I guess I just don't find it that bad, but it's just samples.

Dat Steve Jablonsky.

I downloaded "My Name is Lincoln" from The Island, based on its use in the Avatar trailer. And he did great work on the original Transformers movies!

I always thought he did good moving stuff for these kinds of things.

Yea, love his stuff. The 2nd part though of the trailer isn't that song though and I'm not sure where it's from. Could be from the actual Zimmer score.

Lol actually I was more referring to the second part.

I hunted down art of war and had a quick listen and went "that's not it..."

But yeah Steve Jablonsky is pretty cool in my book.

Dammit, I could have SWORN it was coming out in June. Ah well.

Days of Future Past in May, and it'll be better than all three.

I'm hyped for DOFP and I loved the previous Singer X-Men films but it can go either way at this point in terms of quality. We've barely seen any footage of the movie and Winter Soildier seems to have really impressed people and the trailers for ASM 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy are good. Hopefully it ends up being great though.

haha yea the 2nd part sounds great. It's either from the score or someone soon enough will find out where its from.

Yep, that's Zimmer phoning it in alright.

Nah, there are some tracks that sound like they can be good. It's actually a lot better than I expected, I wasn't digging the new theme for this movie so I wasn't sure what sound they were going for. If what they show on screen doesn't suck, then they could end up complimenting each other nicely and give the film some character. Honer's score wasn't bad, but it didn't really help the film like it should (the crane scene had the best music in the film). And it was quite a drop from the superior Elfman scores. I felt that even Spider-Man 3 had a really great score and I don't even know who scored that lol. Anyway.

The best samples: So Much Anger, I Need to Know, There He Is, I'm Moving to England, Let Her Go, I Chose You, We're Best Friends, No Place Like Home

The good samples: Special Project, You're That Spider Guy, Cold War, Look At Me, Ground Rules

They can get better or worse, guess we'll see.

Days of Future Past in May, and it'll be better than all three.

They have the best leads for sure. I expect the best from them on a dramatic level.

Fox has been weird with the promotion though, not sure what's up with that.

The music in the final trailer had me pumping. Is that from the movie or ripped from another movie?

I'm not sure, I know that the beginning part has already been discovered, but that second part was dope.

I don't know why people are doubting the man that gave us X1 and X2 and most of the team behind First Class.

Winter Soldier is looking hella good, I'll give that. Far better than I thought it would. But it's kind of hard for the one-off movies to have stakes after The Avengers. Feels like things are in a holding pattern until Age of Ultron.

ASM2 is looking far, far better than it sounded initially and the newer trailers are good stuff. But it's going to be a hot, fun mess more than anything. I'm sure it'll please a lot of people but it's hard for me to give completely into the hype considering the mediocre, butchered ASM1.

Guardians of the Galaxy is a wildcard. Could be crap or amazing. Trailers have me interested but not excited. The biggest thing it has going for it IMO is it directly leads into Age of Ultron supposedly.

DoFP is my underdog too. Hopefully the soundtrack delivers. Even X3 had a great soundtrack.

I wouldn't call it an underdog.

Singer directed X2 after all, if anything if he doesn't deliver it'd be a disappointment. Especially with the strong leads. I got some advice for him, don't focus on the shit characters like Rogue and Storm, who the movies turned into a joke.

I think I'd call TASM2 an underdog since a majority of GAF hated it and the first film had a lot of issues, it had posters here calling it the second coming of Batman and Robin early on. Based off of set photos.

X-Men's marketing has a lot going against this time though. Changing around the events and characters of a popular comics story combined with emphasis on historical events makes DoFP more ambitious. However, it failing could be a lot more painful too.

I remember when X1 was coming out and they had 30 minute special on Fox. A mock Senate hearing with Robert Kelly showing behind the scenes stuff from the movie. I recorded it to VHS.

Hard to believe the series is almost 15 years old. o_o

First movie any good?

Depends on who you ask. I say yes.

Opinion in here is surprisingly sour. I came out of the theater two times, both with positive impressions

I'm with these two

It's okay, but it has the best Stan Lee cameo ever. Spider-Man costume is lame though, which they fixed in the sequel.

And I agree with this guy on the cameo. It's amazing. And I normally think they're kind of lame.

I see, I want to check out this sequel when it hits the cinema but feel like I should at least watch the first one.
