17 is the only Mania I'd possibly cede to. Just. It's a toss up for top spot between 30 and 17 for me. It will be difficult for future generations to b judge the quality of the PPV because it's impossible to relive the raw emotion felt when Lesnar pinned Taker. I've never felt as shell shocked and in hindsight people will begin to understand the crumbs were there and struggle to understand why we didn't see them.

I understand a rematch is the next logical step (this is wrestling after all) but I just wish they had given him this one to keep some momentum and let Cena take the win in the next match. But I can't complain I loved the ppv.
The first gif is the enduring image to me of Taker from this Wrestlemania and that is a god damn bummer and a half. And on a rewatch, it is even MORE of a bummer because I can see the disappointment in Taker's eyes on the match and on his body in general. I thought seeing Hogan and Flair in TNA was a bummer, but TNA doesn't really count. Seeing Taker realize his body was done at Wrestlemania is not enjoyable in any way at all.
lol what? Its not even the same thing. The streak ended Brock is a crazy monster and thats it. It was very entertaining and it will be talked about for a while and it was not something farcical like finger poke of doom.
I don't really give a shit about booking and all that they should do this crap. All i know is they took what used to be a certainty and turned it into OMG amazing legit shook moment.

Cena did two back to back Wrestlemania main events only to be mid-card in this one and everyone's upset that he didn't job to a newcomer crazy hillbilly? Also he DID put over Bryan at Summer Slam. Don't get me wrong, I dig Bray Wyatt's gimmick but you're basically asking the WWE to bury Cena by having him lose a mid card after main eventing twice. I'd rather Wyatt won, but I'm definitely not upset by it as I was expecting Cena to win.
I will say that if they were gonna have his storyline during the match be Bray Wyatt pushing Team Fruity to the dark side or whatever, they should have promoted it that way. Better yet, let Cena win in a heel fashion to push him over as a heel himself. I want heel Cena already dammit.

this was the real "end of an era." the Attitude Era got crushed this Mania. Taker, Kane, Big Show, HHH, NAO all lost. It actually felt like a huge spectacle of a show while the last few WMs were just standard PPVs when all was said and done.

I don't care that Taker lost, except for the fact it was to Lesnar. He's a horrible person, and I will not support the WWE in any way while they continue to employ him.

Checking some Twitter reactions... Fucking lol at the people so upset they say they're leaving for TNA. They'll be back after 2 minutes (if they even last THAT long) of watching it.
You couldn't even fit the WrestleMania logo that was on the stage into a TNA arena if you laid the thing flat. I couldn't imagine being a TNA wrestler watching WM and then having to go and do a show of your own. It make TNA look like Pop Warner compared to the NFL.

"Burying" is a FAR over used term online. Losing a match isn't being buried. Losing a match when it is important for you to lose a match isn't being buried. The closest thing to a burial tonight was Ryder getting eliminated by 3MB and Miz (who has flip flopped between face and heel multiple times over the past 5 months with no reason given, was bitch slapped by Arnold) getting eliminated by Santino in the battle royal. Ryder even being on the show was a massive step up for him, so that leaves Miz and fuck Miz.
Burying is putting out a DVD just to shit one someone. Burying is a heel repeatedly saying the face is a loser and not as his level and then beating him to prove and send him back to the mid card. John Cena losing tonight would not have been a burial of any kind. It would have made sense for the storyline he's in and the over all theme of the show. I'm not at all going to say Bray was buried because he looked like a STAR tonight, but Cena not losing made him look pretty shitty when HHH, Batista, Big Show, and UNDERTAKER lost clean tonight. You could say that Cena winning was to keep people happy with all the big stars losing tonight, but I think that's bullshit. The storyline dictated that he should lose. Bray's push dictated that he should lose. The crowd WANTED him to lose. Cena going over tonight was as stupid as Cena going over at Summerslam against the Nexus.

Meh, I was legit shook and I liked it. The crowd reactions were amazing too. If they had built it up too much everyone would have known and it just wouldn't have been the same. It was a nice surprise as far as I'm concerned.
Announcing tonight was FUCKING TERRIBLE. The whole god damn show. Owen voices showed up in FOUR different matches, and none of them were sincere at all. JBL shitting on Bryan all night was fucking stupid. The complete lack of enthusiasm for UNDERTAKER LOSING AT FUCKING WRESTLEMANIA was unreal. I mean, announcing has been bad for years, but they made what should be the biggest moment in Wrestlemania (and by extension, WWE history) sound like just another thing.
I wonder how many times JBL called Bryan a goat, farm animal, or garden gnome.

I was expecting some hitches. Outside of some parts repeating 3 seconds over (which I think is done to keep the stream buffering in HD), it was FLAWLESS. I didn't expect it to work as well as it did.

I appreciate everything Taker has done but seeing him now is just sad. He seems pretty perceptive to the point where if this made sense to him, that's totally fine. I can't really muster up any negative feelings to the outcome even though I really didn't care about the match as it happened. It's like someone hitting a game-winning shot and you're not even watching. It's hard to have a legit reaction.

And losing to that old man would have just made him look weak. At least the idea of the streak is enough to erase most impressions of how that terrible match actually played out. It's probably the best you can hope for now, Taker really should have ended it a year or two ago.

The thing is that Cena's booking against heels has completely askews common sense and has been for YEARS. Losing against a heel and then having to come back and prove yourself by winning another match down the road is a legit engaging story line. Instead, Cena gets the win immediately, the feud continues, and he wins the rematches. It's supposedly about keeping the kids happy, but are kids actually going to be upset if he loses a match and then gets a comeback victory later on?

Getting knocked down and losing (a match) only to get back up and win later is actually overcoming adversity, like a "real" superhero. Life lessons for the, apparent, legions of children looking for a guiding light. Cena just completely fabricates that part and wins. There is no triumph, only Cena.

This 100% this ending was balls out insane and I'm glad they took this route instead of a Bryan loss. One of the most surreal images in pro wrestling and I'd do it again if I had the chance. In-fucking-credible. I'm typing this as I watch the replay and just wow.

The Streak was one of those things you thought would never end. Whether Taker retired on it one year, took a year off or whatever.....I thought it would never end. Every year it has provided me with suspense and nearly every year has succeeded in making me question just a little if Undertaker could be beaten...but he never was. When they beat him last night, I was deflated a bit. The Streak has been around for as long as I have been a fan. It's kind of weird actually going forward without it. Should it have been Brock Lesnar? He's as good as anyone they could pick for that I guess, because nobody would have been perfect. If there is a bright side to this, now the rumored Undertaker vs Sting match can happen on even grounds. Two supernatural legends going at it, for one final match for the both of them. A real Wrestlemania dream match with nothing on the line but legacies.
Am I ok with The Streak being broken? I'll tell you when I'm no longer legit shook. For now though, wrestling got me....me and thousands in the Superdome and millions watching everywhere. I like that....even if it had to come at the expense of something I have grown up with.
