US PSN: Golden Week Sale Celebrates Japanese Games

Just came to say I got Ys and it's awesome! Already like it 10x more than FFX. In fact I don't know if i want to go back to that game. I'm currently
playing blitz ball for the first time w tidus. Or at least the blitz ball tutorial.
Does it get better? Or
Is it safe to say if I don't like it up till now I should just move on and accept my $40 loss?

Ys deserves so much more than to be put beside FFX. Leave FFX as a game that you go back to when you're done with the afterglow of beating Ys. Or just sell it and pick it up when it's bargain price on PS+/retail stores.

There are several games that I want such as the Tales Games, Atelier or whatever it is called and maybe Time and Eternity and Neptunia, but I have absolutely no room on my hard drive. :/

FF10 seems to be love it or hate it, but Blitzball isn't what the game is about. Blitzball itself is love it or hate it with the fandom too.
Just keep playing FF10 and see if it catches your interest. Ask in the FF10 OT for any assistance and tips.

U gonna play them all at once?

Nah, probably one at a time or maybe even two at a time. Add in that I plan on buying Child of Light on PS4 also which is another RPG. I could narrow it down to maybe 2 JPRG's, but freeing up memory would still be very difficult. Maybe it is for the better if I stay away from this sale........ :{

Lol thanks guys for all your replies. I think I'm gonna stick with Ys for now. I actually enjoy that game and I feel like I have to force myself to play FFX.

As for selling it back, as another poster put so eloquently:
"I can't..."

Bought digitally. Won't be doing that again.

Welp here's my haul and what I bought them specifically for:

Devil May Cry HD Collection - PS3
Armored Core: Verdict Day - PS3
Vagrant Story - PSV
Chrono Trigger - PSV
Chrono Cross - PSV
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together - PSV
Ys: Memories of Celceta - PSV
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection - PSV
Muramasa Rebirth - PSV
Zone of the Enders HD Collection - PS3

I'm set for a long time lol. Based Sony is so based.

I bought Time and Eternity.. The game is 14 gigs.. DansGame..

You need all that gig for that full range of pallette swapped enemies and your two(in-one and palette swapped)playable character(s) :p

I got Chrono Trigger. The load times aren't that bad.

When did this thread become the place we dump all of the posters with terrible opinions?

That's what happens when you put too many Vita owners in one place.

I've been contemplating buying Tales and Muramasa but I'm not really in a rush to get either. I'm not a huge Tales fan and would probably rather just wait for Xillia 2 or get Graces f because presumably they have better battle systems. Also, I played Muramasa on te Wii but I'm interested in the DLC and seeing the artwork on the Vita's screen. Persona 4 Golden is only $5 less than retail price so I'd rather get a physical copy and Ys is too much than what I'm willing to pay for digital. I'll probably get Muramasa before the sale ends because of how cheap it is.

If it's your first time playing the game it might not be too bad... But if you've played any other version it's like screwing tacs into your thumbs. Believe me, I own all versions and I'll likely never touch the PS1 version ever again (I couldn't even stomach it back in the day).

Man, all this FFX hate. It wasn't my favorite but still, I never thought it was THAT bad. Although I do have to admit, I never touched an Ys game.. after Ark of Napishtim. Now if FFX is garbage.. idk what this game is..

Yea I was gona say, at this point, for those who are hesitant to play a PSOne game bc of its load times or graphics.. you're doing it wrong..

But then I factor this in too.

However, if this is your first time playing Trigger.. just buy it. I'd happily play Trigger on the PSOne for $3.50 rather than a DS version for $20-$40 (referring prices from amazon).

Vita came in (3 days early even!)

Now I have to wait for it to update, then I'll transfer over what games I can (curse you 4GB memory card! It's all I can afford after getting stuff in the sale T_T Have to wait till my next paycheck in 2 weeks to upgrade to 16GB). At least it shouldn't take too long... Though I promised my wife I'd install Dynasty Warriors first so she has something to play at our daughter's doctor's appointment in a few hours.

just take the plunge and get a 32gb.16 is still going to be tight. i say this as a 32gb owner who still wishes he had more space.

Bought:
Vagrant Story
Chrono Trigger
Chrono Cross
Muramasa Rebirth
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together
Tales of Symphonia Chronicles
Armored Core: Verdict Day

Really debating on whether to spend another $40 for the Atelier Totori/Meruru games. Never played any of the series before but from what I've watched on youtube it seems pretty interesting.

Just a heads up, if you go to the Buy/Sell/Trade thread, you can buy PSN cards from ppl at a discount (10% off basically). I just bought $60 worth for $54.

I've never played a Hot Shots game. Is World Invitational worth picking up?

Yes. There's a dem--oh, right. Not on PS3.

Well it's $10, so it's worth trying?

I mean do you like Mario Golf or "aracde"-y golf? Yes? Then pick it up.

Started P4G, was happy, then heard Chie's voice. Back to sadness. You should have warned me !
It really doesn't compare to the original. That said, you eventually get over it.

I was watching the Endurance Run the other day and it angered me that the voice was better back then. :(

But if I get the 32gb and don't instantly fill it, I'll be compelled to listen to people in this thread and buy even more :p

I don't mind swapping out games from time to time, but I do need a card that's big enough that I can fit more than just Persona 4 on it.

Buy the 64 GB brah.
Buy the 64 GB, you can then fill it up with games your daughter'd have a blast playing: classic PSX Platformers and RPGs, among other simple but entertaining Vita games (my niece loves to play Sunflowers on my Vita).
Heck you can even have FF1-10 and X2 on your Vita at this point!

If you could consider also getting Ys: Memories of Celceta, it's a kickass action RPG with a kickass soundtrack. You've already got a great set of RPG games on your Vita, and Ys games rarely ever go on sale on US PSN.

Oh man... The DMC bundle looks super enticing... But dmc2 is by far the worst piece of software I've ever payed for. I don't want to give capcom any money with that garbage included in the package.

Guess I'll save my money.

? There is no DMC2, this is a duology collecting DMC1 and 3.
Just STFU and blindly buy it, you'll thank me later~

You keep her out of this!! You monsters!

Playing P4G right now and you know... this really is the definitive version
I actually like the new Chie's voice more... a lot more actually. I never liked the original VA and it's been 5ish years since I last played P4 so it doesn't have quite the awkward familiarity/difference thing going on a lot of others probably have

M-muh wallet...

Can't bring myself to upgrade from my 8GB memory card yet. I think I can manage if I just stick to one or two games at a time...

Well I bought SCV and Muramasa Rebirth. I gotta say I'm disappointed in the lack of sp content in SCV..

I was wondering though does P4:A have a lot of sp content?

*pat pat* This is a thread full of those feels. I'm still very tempted to get MGS2/3 again... but I have P4G to play... have to stay focused!

Definitely getting P4G for my upcoming Vita purchase, any other Vita games to look at?

If you're into RPGs the Atelier series come highly recommended from Gaf. MGS series are always solid choices. If you're asking for games in general, Dynasty Warriors Next is likely the best in the series on any platform (whether that means much or not to you will be based on whether you like the series in general or not).

If you haven't already, getting PS+ is a must. I had a vita day 1, then sold it... but I had PS+ and "tagged" every Vita game that came onto the service... when I got a second vita (just came in today) I literally have a dozen or more free games to play... just don't have enough time for it all <_<

For as "second thought" Sony treats Vita, it gets a TON of love.

Well, it has more than SC5, if that qualifies.

Story mode takes somewhere between 5-20 hours, depending on how quickly you read, After that, there's arcade mode (not exactly interesting), trials (probably not fun if you don't play fighting games normally), and "Score Attack" (definitely not fun if you don't play fighting games normally).

Depends of what you want:

Ys: Memories of Celceta is an amazing action title that I believe every Vita owner should check out.

Atelier Totori is a great JRPG that I recommend if you're up for time management and a big focus on item creation.

Danganronpa is a great Visual Novel, if you like Phoenix Wright and/or 999 you'll feel right at home.
