...
and 9 hours :D

The waiting is the hardest part

The old train terminated and everyone was required to switch to a new train in order to continue their journey.

Just booked a week off work, which coincidentally means i'll be able to watch the E3 stuff live as it happens

ALL ABOARD THE HYPE TRAIN :excited:

I still prefer the Nintendo hype train heading towards the sun.
I wouldn't mind being added to Hype Train Mk. 2.0 though...

OT: Are we expecting to see Pokken Fighters at E3 now it's been registered as a trademark?

I think it's just a case of wording, they know how underwhelming their whole thing was last year. And they need to step it up now more than ever. It's still going to basically be a direct, but they probably want to distance themselves from that to make it feel more 'special'. Whether that means megatons or not I guess we'll see, but I think it's purely from an attempt to not mess it up.
Regardless, this is Nintendo treating E3 as a bigger event than they really ever have.
They're going all out to really get people to pay attention to them. Something they didn't even do during the Wii days.
It's a very bold stance to take here and it speaks pretty well for what they'll do and show.

While digging through Linkedin looking for potential hints didn't prove very productive, it turns out most freelancers who worked on Tropical Freeze are now full time Retro employees. One of them went to Black Tusk for a few months but also joined Retro earlier this year. Obviously off topic and doesn't warrant a thread, but still nice to see.

Guess they all did such a good job on Tropical Freeze they were kept around for the next DK game.

What I want to be released for Wii U, please note dream mode on :

Bravely Default
Golden Sun
Sin and Punishment 3
Paper Mario ( Based on the N64 or GC version)
Project H.A.M.M.E.R.

1080º
Dragon Quest XI ( Please, ditch the on-line thing)
Kid Icarus (A sequel for the 3DS version would be good)
Metroid Prime 4
Pokemon Stadium 3
Ultra Street Fighter IV
Batallion Wars
Fire Emblem
Star Fox
Baten Kaitos 3
Wario World 3
Pandora's Tower 2
Punch-Out!!

For 3DS

Final Fantasy Tactics A3
Kid Icarus (2D, metroidvania style)

That would make the world a better place.

That's one nice looking train gotta enjoy this hype as I think this will be the last big E3 for WiiU as Nintendo ramps up development for its next Console

The WiiU has been in development since the Wii shipped
The Wii has been in development since the GameCube shipped

Nintendo's most likely already investigating where to go for their next console, if they don't have an idea of what they want to do already. It would be quite difficult to accelerate such a pattern to where it takes half the time, to say the least.

Definitely great news!

Oh most definitely my point is I think this will be the last big push Nintendo gives WiiU after this year will probably get one big game a year and a bunch of HD ports of 3DS/GCN/WII to fill out the rest of the calendar

It's hard to predict how Nintendo will act, honestly. I really don't think they're planning to move on from the WiiU just yet. Much to the annoyance of gamers here.
Maybe if this year just gets worse they'll rethink things, but rushing out a new system with no games would do them more harm than good. Their best bet is to just keep supporting the WiiU as much as they can and make a nornal transition.

Get me on that train!

This year I actually have a 3DS so it'll be more interesting now. Been considering picking up a Wii U lately but I think I'll wait until the show to make my decision.

I don't. I just want a Metroid (without Miyamoto being involved, obviously) and also a good Zelda (preferably without Miyamoto's influence as well).

I am sorry, I just despise what this dude is doing to Nintendo games for the past decade (see what he did to Paper Mario Sticker Star). He is not really a "genius" anymore.

This is just silly. Miyamoto was heavily involved with Pikmin 3 and it was fantastic.

I'm not saying they'll cut the 5 year cycle short I'm not expecting a new Nintendo home console until 2017 but I do think this year and the next will be the best years software wise for WiiU, if it doesn't pick up after this year then Nintendo has nothing to gain financially, and the best move would be to move resources to the next console early and support WiiU with as little effort as possible like for example 1 big game a year and a bunch of low cost HD ports

It would be suicide to try and fill out your entire lineup with remakes, regardless of how good they are.

You are on Hype Train 1. That got full, so I put on Hype Train 2 as well. So, breaking the laws of physics and also the space-time continuum, you are now on both trains. Just don't let both versions of you touch each other. Haven't you ever seen Timecop?
Am I on this?

I think 3DS will be Nintendo's main focus, on Wii U side I don't think there will be much new content. They'll show Zelda, all the games they've been showing since last year and maybe a new mini-game collection from Miyamoto.

Otherwise it'll be the 3DS hype train.

So nintendo is the last one.
is it always like this or do the order changes year to year without anyone caring about or imagining things because of it?

Not sure whether Microsoft and Sony switch it around, but IIRC Nintendo is usually last.
Otherwise people would have nothing to look forward to at the end of E3 due to the Nintendo megatons dropping early.

Usually you have Microsoft early on the first day, followed by EA and Ubisoft mid-day -- and Sony closing it out that night. Then Nintendo finishes the "conference" portion of E3 early the next day.

I think you'll be surprised.
Either way, there's already so much annouced for WiiU that they could probably spend 40 minutes on that alone with no new annoucements.

I saw several countdowns, in some other thread, for when the Fiscal Year Earnings Release (FY 2013) will be published as well as when the investor presentation on May 8 will happen. Anyone recalls which thread that was?
