Bayern Munich midfielder Franck Ribery has slammed Pep Guardiola for his rotation policy at the club.
Since winning the Bundesliga title at the end of March, the Bavarians have chosen to leave out key players in order to focus on the Champions League and the German Cup.
Ribery has admitted that it is a situation that he is not used to and feels that his form and fitness has suffered.
"Sometimes you were playing, sometimes you were on the bench and sometimes you were just left at home," he said on kicker.de.
"That was a new situation for all of us. Personally, I need to be playing games. I need five or six games before maybe taking a break, but not after just one game."

Why is cross-gen an issue? Next-gen games are hardly making sweeping changes to the graphics and structure of games, and most modern game engines are inherently scalable.

For Ubi it is less of an issue (still is) because they can have entire studios on the last gen ports but for smaller studios they can't make sweeping changes if they are making games for decade old hardware
Designing for new and old gen inherently influences the scale you can work on. Reason they aren't making sweeping changes is primarily cross gen.
Saying that, you are right bout the engines and issues will then come up when even next gen games like Dead Rising 3, Killzone and Infamous aren't structurally different to past gen and still suffer from last gen design
Things'll change. Just need a next gen AC or Gears of War.
