As some of you may know, Jay Z was hit multiple times in an elevator by Byeonce' sister Solange. He doesn't hit back and just defends himself throughout.

Whoopi defends him on The View, saying that he has the right to fight back,

"I think Solange was quite ready for him to do whatever he was going to do. This is the thing: If anybody hits you, you have the right"

"I know that many people are raised in a different way, but if a woman hits you, to me, you have the right to hit her back."

This is causing a lot of people to attack her on news channels and on social media.i just saw a clip of this reporter. She was saying how Jay Z is a lot stronger so its not fair for him to fight back, and that she is disgusted how Whoopi would defend Jay Z as a woman. She made me cringe as she kept saying " I can't, I can't "

What do you guys think?

I don't see how this is fair. I hate comments such as the one that the reporter made. People always make light of the fact that men can be abused too. It's not like Jay Z was hit once, she hit him a dozen times.

Reminds me of that old 'how can she slap' video. Girl slaps the dude, and nobody blinks, but when the dude slaps back; literally every crew member on the set attacks the guy.

I 100% agree. It's sexist to think only women can hit men. I'm reminded of that video recently where the cops tackled the guy who was being hit by the crazed woman on the train.

You always have the right to defend yourself. But Jayz knew he could have ended it with one punch but he rightly decided just fend off her blows.

Agree completely with Whoopi.

If I got attacked by a crazed woman, I would defend myself. Probably not with a punch to the face, but I would definitely use my strength to hold her down, and if that didn't work and she continued to attack me like a wild animal, a good slap through the face would do.

I agree with her, but only to the point that you use no more force than is necessary to stop the other person's assault on you.

You being stronger than them or not doesn't mean a woman hitting you in the face multiple times doesn't hurt like Hell, I think most people don't realise this.

Sorry, if a woman is coming at you like a man, she deserves to be knocked out like a man.

Now if it's just slapping and pushing. That's another thing.

In before "equality means we can hit women."

Or am I too late?

She's right. When is enough enough? Women can't attack men just because they know it's wrong for the guy to hit back. I'm not going to pick a fight with someone I know will kick my butt. Same rules should apply. Being weaker doesn't mean you're not the aggressor.

Of course you have the right to fight back.
Obviously you also have the responsibility of reading the situation and using an acceptable level of force in retaliation.

Jay Z handled the situation excellently but I wouldn't have been in uproar and labeling him a woman beater if he had put Solange on her ass. Obviously if the tables turned and he started going in on her hard it would have been a bit different, but just because someone is smaller than you of a different gender you don't loose the right to protect your own safety.

He certainly does have the right.

But if he DID hit her back, good Lord he'd be in for a monumental shit storm. Ultimately, I'm fine with the double standard (to a degree, of course). If I'm not really getting hurt, I'm not going to fight back. I'd just restrain her rather than hit back.

Jesus fucking Christ. Do these women's talk shows only talk about how terrible men are? I Decided not to change the channel, and this show called The Social is on. A group of women are talking about how having a male babysitter is a terrible idea and you should have female only.

She is not wrong tho, as long as the response serves the exclusive purpose of finishing the fight in the least harmful manner for both. Knowing this, I proably still wouldnt do it.

If some lady is really attacking you sure you'd be justified. The real question though is, will that improve the things or not?

Yes, men have a right to defend themselves from women. The problem is when people hear this, they think Arnold Schwarzenegger going to town on a size-2 women or something. Self defense is self defense, not a fight to the death.

I am responding to how a women might be weaker than a man the man shouldn't defend themselves because of that. Since a gun is more lethal than a knife, it would be unfair to use a gun to defend yourself against a knife. Which is obviously a ridiculous argument.

I mean, yeah. Look at who is on the show and who it's geared for. It's not going to appeal to men.

Don't you know? That's all TV is about while the menz are away at work. How to hate menz even more than what you already do.
