Ubisoft: "We won't be showing off any Nintendo games at E3 this year"

it's not like their games were helping, they werent selling any wii u's and they werent selling well on their own for that matter. Ubisoft might as well not have been there because they made 0 dent what so ever, their franchises don't have pull. Any future game wouldn't have made a single difference to Wii U's situation, the only thing that could increase Wii U's sales is nintendo games, not ports of some what popular franchises.

Hey, I'm just being honest, come at me if you want

This is a huge problem with many Wii U suporters.
They think 3rd party doesn't matter.
That the console will do just fine with just 1st party.
They don't realize they need EA, Ubi, Activision, Warner...

1st party alone will not save the Wii U, man.

And some people believed that Wii U can live past the 2015. Yeah, right. Nintendo will pull the plug before the year ends.

It'll get canned early but not that early. A new system would come Fall 2016 at earliest. They need to support the system for at least 4 years or so to not completely piss off people who bought it.

The N64 lasted a couple extra years on fumes alone, I don't see how the Wii U can't.

Nintendo 64 sold significantly better than Wii U. It had the 13-18 male audience. It sold about the same as the SNES in NA. It outsold PlayStation in Canada.

There isn't any comparison here.

It's not my fault WiiU is a flop. I see little point in even having one other than for some Nintendo games. It is what it is so sorry if that hurts feelings. If it was better than I would be saying but missing out on so many AAA games or just games in general isn't doing WiiU favors.

I couldn't care less. I like Nintendo, but I have a massive PS3/PC back log that could keep me busy for years even if Nintendo just up and disappeared.

I just find it silly, the celebratory type behavior that goes on in these topics, mostly in the form of driveby shots. Hasn't it gotten old yet? People have been saying the exact same things for over a year now. It grows tiresome.

All Nintendo need is a niche retro dev like NG-Dev Team making games for the system and the WIU will be still getting new games in 2024.

At this rate the Dreamcast will out live the WiiU

N64 had all the third party support until the very end. Wii U doesn't even have annual sport games.

I think they'll just release what they have already announced (X, Bayo 2, Hyrule Warriors) and make Zelda U cross gen. Maybe Mario Party 10 will be there too, but that's it.

I'm always so confused by this image. Is it the WiiU Gamepad's reflection on a window looking outside into stormy weather. Or is it supposed to be a WiiU Gamepad left outside in stormy weather looking in?

My brain hurts every time I see this picture. Why is the gamepad looking outside? Because it's bored and no one wants to play? Or is it supposed to be left out in the rain, looking in? That makes more sense but if that's the case then it should be opaque and maybe some water droplets on it anduueeguhhhh *aneurysm*

Ha, I beat you to it!

If only the industry spoke so freely about their unannounced projects as they do about shitting on Nintendo.

How, in any way at all, are they 'shitting on Nintendo'?

It's not like publishers are volunteering to say these things.
They get asked the question, and they, neutrally, answer honestly

Whoa. Is that pretty much all 3rd parties now abandoned the Wii U? Damn, Nintendo better bring out the big guns for E3 this year.

Im a wii U supporter but I dont have a Wii U, interesting. Will get one when Mario Kart 8 comes out though

This is not a support Nintendo post, its a post stating that the only fans they have are nintendo fans, because they messed up the image, the price, the name, well everything to draw either the hardcore fans in or the casual fans in. That was by no means a praise Nintendo post

Noooo! I was really hoping for a surprise game announcement for Wii U by Ubisoft. Such a great system but no support at all anymore. This makes me sad,

Well, what can I say? That this came out of left field, or that I wasn't expecting it at all? Neither?

It's very apparent how Wii U's perception is now, especially to third-party developers. They don't see the need to put in work to make it worth their while, but in a crazy turn of events, Ubisoft gave it a shot.

They had an new exclusive IP. They had Rayman built with Wii U in mind. They had their own Uplay app on the system. They were undoubtedly the biggest third-party partner that Nintendo had, but it's very evident that they've had enough of playing nice with a system that isn't in their vision of, dare I say it, "next-gen".

I'm not even upset, but I am a little hurt. I bought their products on Wii U, supported them a ton, but in the end, it wasn't enough. At least I'm glad that I was able to personally thank both creative directors on ZombiU after the news broke that the sequel was no longer in production.

I'm also glad for the experiences that I was able to have on Wii U. Even now, I had to pause my game of Assassin's Creed IV to share a few words. I don't entirely see this as the death of third-parties on Wii U, but it is a giant blow. It'll still hurt, even as much as I want to cushion it with first-party content and indie games. It will never be enough for some people.

It was nice having you around, Ubisoft. See you next generation. Maybe I'll consider buying Watch_Dogs as a final farewell until then.

I don't see a reason to buy a Wii U given how few games it's getting. It's like no one is supporting the console.

Zelda U and X are going to redeem it. At least for me. Unless the Zelda U is something I just do not want.

Has to be like the tech demo in order for me to care pretty much.

That pic reminds me of that Nichole Kidman ghost film The Others, which shows the dead looking out of a window that's very similar to that pic.

ditto if you don't enjoy Nintendo 1st / 2nd party games

And actually there is no lie in there.

Nintendo fans (that sounds awful btw) are buying other games too, but they mostly are console exclusives. Even if i cared about WatchDogs why would i get it on WiiU when i can get it on PC? I own every console except X1 (not yet anyway) and all my libraries are console exclusives, multiplats are for PC.

And yea, i buy Nintendo to play Nintendo. If you are buying Nintendo to play AC you're doing it wrong.

Well I have a fairly capable laptop and PC, however I prefer playing all games on the PS4/PS3 except for PC exclusives, am I doing it wrong? I buy a console to be my all in one game centre, not as a crutch for my PC.

Why all third party have to mention that out laud?
Did Nintendo killed their parents or something?

Maybe they were asked about it, it was NintendoWorld they were talking to... you act like they went to a mountain top and screamed it and bought airplane banners and threw a party about it.

I always thought it's a gamepad outside slowly fading away

I dunno man. This seems really fishy. I mean I definitely understand that they could potentially not be showing anything on Wii U, but...maybe we're interpreting the statement differently. Maybe they're not showing off any Nintendo Exclusives which shouldn't be surprising.

I know I'm kind of grasping at straws with that but..what about Watch_Dogs Wii U? Does this mean that's cancelled? Why wouldn't they be showing it off? And I mean..No Just Dance? Isn't that essentially a Nintendo exclusive at this point? Does it even sell on other consoles? Lol

I want clarification mostly now.
inb4 MK sells like mad and Ubisoft releases a ton of stuff late/next year

Its on vita though

Seems like this type of 3rd party games sells better on Vita than on 3DS. Also, porting to Vita is a lot easier than porting to 3DS. And perhaps Ubi wants to keep their employees at work instead of sitting around and doing nothing. For the same reason we are probably getting Watch Dogs for Wii U.

If Wii U doesn't get the typical just dance/rabbids crap then there is a reason to say they are gone, if they are just not showing "Nintendo exclusive" content then it's fine, I think this is a case of a rep saying something that will be blown out of proportion (well it's already on that track) or be clarified down the road.

I would worry if Watch Dogs was canned, and so far that hasn't happened.

But, go go go everyone freak out and speculate, it's fun to watch.
