Microsoft now owns the gears franchise, so it wont be that. I really don't have a clue what it could be for... if true.
It's just a part of E3. It's fun to speculate. I think more people are participating and viewing this thread and other like it because they are excited about E3 and there are no longer any hype threads. I don't think it has much to do with people thinking the rumor is valid.

While I really don't think it will happen (enough I already hedged my bets and got a PS4 and Fallout is the biggest reason for me to want next gen), I could see it not coming out for PS4 if MS paid enough money. I think though MS wouldn't find it worth it to pay the amount Bethesda would want and Bethesda would want a lot cause they know they would lose a lot. But, I think all Bethesda would want is enough money that they wouldn't lose out on the money they could make, I don't think they have much to lose other than that. I don't think it will happen, but I admit it's enough of a possibility it still makes me nervous as I already chose PS4 (and I really can't justify both consoles). And I just hope whatever third party it is it is anything but Fallout (I'll be disappointed if it's DRagon's Dogma 2 but I won't be devastated like I would if it were Fallout).
Where I think you are completely wrong though is that Bethesda would not make it for PC.... They seem to prefer PC, their fans tend to be more PC players. In fact most Fallout/Elder Scroll fans will outright tell you if you aren't playing it on PC you're doing it wrong. And hell, even as some one who prefers consoles I will agree with them when it comes to those games, I just accept the compromise but they are the games I would get a PC for if I was going to get one for any game. Well that and Flight Simulator but you cannot do a good flight simulator on a console, just not possible with that few buttons.
There is no way in hell Bethesda would lock out PC players, that would really be damaging to them (they pretty much would piss off their biggest fanbase).

I think that albeit the Shenmue saga hasn't been commercially succesful, has generated a lot of expectations from everyone, from the hardcore fans (I count myself among them) to the ones that actually don't like the game.
I would be happy if Shenmue 1 and 2 would release as HD versions for 7th and 8th gen consoles.
I've always imagined the momento Shenmue 3 is presented. Lights out, the screen changing to a shot of a starry sky, and then a female voice reciting the "He shall appear from a far eastern land across the sea..."
If I see that moment, I'll literally cry like some 60's beatles fan bitch

Given how all of those buzzwords are part of the pie that has destroyed the Xbox One's ability to perform above its competitors in it's home market I don't think EA/Bioware would be so shortsighted. I do agree about Dragon's Dogma/Resident Evil 7 though.

Take Two has a chance to get this ip to a gta sales type level, i honestly don`t believe they would be that dumb to sabotage their own ip.
It's just funny to see how much attention the dumbest stuff will get.
A reliable source just told me that Sony's E3 conference will have "a trailer" for "a game people can't wait to see" and it's gonna be "mind-blowing."
