SOLD! Looks fantastic.

Shame it's leaked as this would have been one of the biggest surprises and hits of E3, but great to see it exists either way. I think this game will sell PS4's to a minority of the hardcore RPG crowd.

One weird thing is in the souls games I always feel vulnerable. In this released clip it seems the protagonist is bad-ass and intimidating. I think this is going to be a fixed protagonist unlike Demon and Dark. I also think this will be a cross between Castlevania and Demon souls. Very hyped if this is the case.
Fixed protagonist? Highly doubt it. Multiplayer would have to be completely different if this were the case.

Does anyone else get the vibe that this is going to be more "adventure-y" than "RPG-y"? Souls in gameplay, no doubt, but more focused, i.e. less weapons/attire. The player character already looks iconic with his awesome whatever-the-fuck blade and Blunderbuss.

That's my take away too. It looks as if those raggedy clothes are his permanent apparel.

Hopefully we get more info at e3

Yup. That is what I feel to. Infact I think this will be Castlevania-like in level design and Souls-like in gameplay.

I'm only using you as a quote excuse so don't take this personally: have you guys saying this forgotten about dark souls 2? The trailer and gameplay videos were done with its iconic armor. This game seems like it doesn't have armor so far as it won't be set in medieval times if glimpses are to be believed.

Nothing really gives this vibe anymore than the dark souls 2 trailer using an iconic armor. I doubt they'll change the rpg and character making formula so many love.

No way, people thought the same thing with the DS2 reveal and the Faraam armor set. It's just a place holder. As someone mentioned before, PvP wouldn't work in it's current form if everyone was a set character. From knows multiplayer and customization is a huge draw to these games. If they screw with that, the series would take a huge hit.

I just wish to see something new made by From Software.

Regardless as to whether you're joking or not, I agree with this. I would like to see them try something different. It's hard to tell if they are making the game they want to make, or if they have been convinced this is the game they have to make.

Exactly, seems people are forgetting this. Heck, they even used the Faraam set for a CG trailer.

I bought Dark Souls for Xbox 360 when it was cheap. Dont think I have ever felt so out of touch with the community, I didn't find the game enjoyable at all.

Maybe its a love it or hate it kind of thing.

Well, to be fair, each Souls game has been marketed with one armor set being used in the majority of gameplay footage and in promotional art. In Demon's Souls it was the Fluted Armor Set, in Dark Souls it was the Elite Knight Set, and in Dark Souls 2 it was the Faraam Set. So it could simply be that going on again.

Then again, From has used static main characters in its older games. This could very well be a spiritual successor to the Shadow Tower games (I'm still hanging onto that idea), so I suppose it could be the case.

I agree, this is just a feeling I get from this early trailer.

Perhaps you'll be able to customise the character in different way. Add a wooden leg, a hook or even a parrot ...

They have always made different games though. Although people tend to remember From as the developers of the Souls series, they've done tons of Mech games like the Armored Core series, character action games like Otogi and Ninja Blade and even more traditional Jrpgs like Enchanted Arms and Lost Kingdoms. The only problem is that none of their other games are remotely successful as the Souls series.
