Finally a protagonist character in a modern videogame who's uniqueness and badassary harken back to the hayday of awesome over-the-top fantasy videogames from the the 80s and 90s.
It's unfortunate that this Sony E3 surprise was let loose early....but I won't hold that against them to say the least.
You know why-->because the game (read actual gameplay and game design) looks FUCKING AMAZING!!!
You don't really have to worry about spoiling a surprise when the game itself can stand on its own regardless of people knowing about it or not.

Well I am not expecting from From based on their track record but was hoping Sony Japan will help them out with the tech. Best of both worlds.

If the trailer was from a private pre-E3 stream then wouldn't that trailer have revealed the actual title of the game? If they officially unveil the game at the conference I can't imagine it would still be presented with the "Project Beast" working title. The insider who leaked these must know!
I just want to know if "Souls" will be incorporated into the title somehow. Is it another spiritual successor ala dark to demon's? Or is it a totally different Beast? (sorry...)

Same here. I always wondered why video game publishers are so damn secretive compared to, let's say, movie studios.
Even a studio like Pixar is transparent about its entire lineup for the next few years, yet we're constantly in the dark about everything except that the next three Call of Duty titles are probably being developed simultaneously.
I don't see the benefit to either publishers or to us.

Nahbrah. It's an awesome fuck-off retractable scythe. Picture a giant iteration of those retractable shavers synonymous with barbers.
The clip with the attacking mob shows him using it folded and in the clip with the Boss-like enemy, it shows him snapping it out. So, yeah. It's even cooler than you thought.

Hey look, a chance to make something different! Oh, it's a Souls game.
One weird thing is in the souls games I always feel vulnerable. In this released clip it seems the protagonist is bad-ass and intimidating. I think this is going to be a fixed protagonist unlike Demon and Dark. I also think this will be a cross between Castlevania and Demon souls. Very hyped if this is the case.
