Chrome can open YouTube links in the YouTube app. There are lots of other examples.

I don't know if you're just being dense but that functionality has to be specifically implemented. No one is going to implement sharing for every IM app on the app store. Which is why this has to be something on the system level. Android does it that way. Even BLACKBERRY had this functionality back in 2008.

iCloud photo library is a big deal. iOS photo handling and iOS/OSX photo sync and iPhoto are all pretty bad, and this could fix all of those problems.

Still hope it supports animated GIFs, lol.

You can do that though, it doesn't have to be specific. You can send a file to any app that works with that those files, or apps can be designed to accept all files.

You could do the same with link files though I think it's easier to just copy and paste the link.
