So, can we all agree that Diner's Drive ins and Dives is the best show on the Food N?

But seriously, Giada gets down like that?

Lots of rumors. Supposedly there was also some meeting discussion where a producer and host were deciding who to book and a producer suggested her, but then a discussion broke out on the rumors behind her and someone confirming it's more than rumor...stuff like she uses the excuse of production meetings to hook-up with guys. The producer at the end then basically goes "so not her?" and someone else replied "Who else do you have besides the blowjob queen?"

30mins of some douche with dyed hair using 10 year old slang... nah.

Anything with Alton Brown is the correct answer.

His podcast with Nerdist is pretty great. It was interesting hearing him talk about working in production with an old buddy a while back as well.

It doesn't actually teach you anything. It's like a show written for kindergartners.

Let's go to the hamburger store!

Here's a hamburger! What goes in the hamburger?

Meeeeeeeat.... Saaaaaalllt.... Peeeeppeeeeerrrr....

Then they fry it and put it on a bun and then Guy eats it! Mmmmmmmm Guy likes it!

Next let's go to the spaghetti store!

Here's some spaghetti! What goes in the spaghetti?

Spagheeeeetti... Tomatoes..... Saaaaaallllt..... Peeeeepppper....

Let's watch people eat the spaghetti! Mmmmmmm they like it!

Guy gets in his big red car and drives away!

11/10 would read again

He went to a place in Truckee, CA called Burger Me-my family and I checked it out and it was great. It's cool to get recommendations like that. We went to one in Charleston, SC that both Rachel Ray and Anthony Bourdain had been to on their shows. They said Anthony was very nice but Rachel's crew was not.

Good Eats is probably the best show Food Network has ever had. I also have a soft spot for Ace of Cakes and Iron Chef America.

Most of their other shows are just filled with obnoxious hosts/judges. And Cutthroat Kitchen is way better than Chopped.

I want to believe it, so I'm going to.

But... she's so friendly and...

I probably should've seen it, considering how rough the TV business is.

It's not an awful show if you're just looking for food porn - but Guy's irritating mid-90's cool-guy vibe makes it hard to swallow at points. There are FAR better programming options on Food Network. Cutthroat Kitchen, Chopped, Challenge, Good Eats (you can catch the odd rerun from time to time), or any of their column-style shows like Best Thing I Ever Ate/Made...

brilliant.

DDD is a good show for background noise imo.

the gf and i prefer chopped and cutthroat kitchen over this.

Also, while there's a good amount of love for Giada in this topic, there's a severe lack of love for Nigella.

YES, DEFINITELY. Innuendoes are great. And she actually cooks good stuff. And, while I could say she's damn fine for her age, she's simply damn fine looking full stop. One of my favourite cooking shows.

I like Cutthroat Kitchen the most at the moment just because it's different enough from Chopped, which has become a bit repetitive for me.

The Canadian version of DDD isn't bad (You've Got to Eat Here or whatever it's called). I also don't mind Restaurant Impossible at times or Mystery Diner, but the latter is so rehearsed and scriped that parts can be painful to watch (the thief show too during its brief run).

Chopped Canada is, well, it's Chopped, only with milder, less aggressive Canadian chefs. I'll watch it while killing time on my phone.

Cutthroat pisses me off when the contestants get all tunnel visioned and start just using their sabotages wrong.

To win:

-Only bid on items that totally make it impossible to make said dish. IE making you cook on shit that makes it impossible to make that particular dish. Or having an item taken away that you can no way possibility substitute.

-Don't attack a person just because they attacked you.

-Always heap the sabotages on a single person, no reason to spread them.

-Pick the person with the most amount of money, you don't want to go up against someone that has 10k more than you in the final round.

Michael Chiarella used to have a really good show on Food Network

Lidia hosts the best cooking show on TV, but she is on PBS, actually all of PBS cooking shows > Food Network

Good Eats will forever be the best Food Network show.

Cutthroat Kitchen is probably the best show they have currently airing. Blows Chopped away.

Her father (or grandfather maybe? I don't remember) is a huge international movie mogul. That probably helped get her foot in the door.

I'm going to continue to believe she's a seductress though.

If something with Guy Fieri (Ferry) is the best show on any network and it isn't just people throwing things at him and mocking him for being a loud, obnoxious asshole, then that network is in serious trouble.

No serious.

I watch it for the light nature and festive ambiance of the filming.

I don't get the douche aspect at all. Just a guy that loves what he does. Don't see him as a douchebag at all.

I mean, do you also have frosted tips and a two-tone goatee? That's really the only reason I can think for someone not getting douchebag chills immediately upon seeing Guy Fieri.

It's for the best. She'd seduce me with her looks and her Italian cooking.

I can agree that this thread title has an unnecessary apostrophe.

Yes, it was a typo lol.

I don't judge people by appearances (at least try not to) - he seems like a nice family man with a passion for food.

I simply do not get all of these accusations of him being a douche.

Credit where it's due - it is a good show, love that he promotes small local establishments, but sometimes it feels like it's the only show left on Food Network. I think it's on most weeknights now for a couple hours at a time.

I must be old school, my favorites were always Good Eats, Emeril, and Mario Batali's show. Learned a lot watching those.

...come to think of it, were the Two Fat Ladies on Food TV way back in the day? They were pretty good.

Same here. Oldies are far better. Mario was just fantastic.
